Chapter 3 - (I) How Goddess sees our boy

Did I pack too much? Is the sandwich I packed satisfactory for Lahsiv? Oh, there are so many things that need to be done; did I forget something? What will I do if I miss something?

Because of the confusion, I forgot to introduce myself; my name is Rin. It's a pleasure to meet you. You may be wondering why I am in such a hurry, who this Lahsiv is, and why I am packing sandwiches. The answer is…,

"bowww…bowwww" Why Browny started barking, I can guess only one reason, it must be Lahsiv. Finally, he appeared, not forgetting the picnic plan. Yes, you are right; we are going on a picnic, and this Lahsiv is a childhood friend of mine. He means a lot to me. Oh my, I forgot we were in a rush since the picnic we were intending to attend was not your typical picnic. We intend to visit a tree house located deep within the forest. When we were kids, Lahsiv and I discovered that location.

"Good morning, Lahsiv" I shouted with excitement. Lahsiv suddenly approached me and grabbed up the luggage I had packed for a picnic. He's been this way since he was a young boy; he always lends a hand when I'm in need and tries to put on a tough exterior, but on the inside, he's as tender as a flower. I don't know why Browny dislikes Lahsiv, but he gets a barking match from Browny every time he comes to see me.

As the tree house, we plan to visit is a little way out in the forest, Lahsiv insisted that we should set out right away before the sun sets. He was right, so it would be best if we got moving right away. We both started walking while toting our luggage, but Browny was having the most fun, jumping on the tree branches that had broken off, circling me, and barking. Walking through the forest was quite enjoyable.

As I've already mentioned, Lahsiv likes to act tough, so I'm sure he's walking in front of me to protect me from any potential risks. We've been moving in this manner for a few hours, and even Browny appears exhausted. Lahsiv will undoubtedly be worn out because he is carrying the majority of our luggage. The ideal scenario is to choose a location where we can take a short break.

After a short distance of walking, I came across an area with level ground and beautifully grown short grass. Lahsiv rebuffed my invitation to stop and rest, saying instead that we should keep walking because we can find locations like this throughout the forest. I said in a firm voice, "We're going to take a rest here, Browny was tired too."

Finally, Lahsiv decided to leave his stuff behind and join us for a lunch. Then I started giving out the sandwiches I had made, and Browny got his special pet food. Lahsiv started gobbling sandwiches quickly.

Whenever I see Lahsiv in this attitude, I wonder how he manages to be so carefree. Despite his reputation as a troublemaker in our town, he has never caused physical or psychological harm to anyone. Just occasionally, he acts excessively or does nothing.

Although he grew up with his grandma, she passed away when he was around 10 years old. When Lahsiv was a young child, his parents passed away. A man with black and white hair took care of him after his grandma died. He is a funny and unique person in our town; he shows up at random, gives everyone in need some stuff and some money, and then quickly vanishes. Lahsiv basically grew on his own after turning 10 years old. Our church's priest regularly visits Lahsiv to see how he's doing.

Lahsiv runs errands in our village in exchange for food and cash from the villagers. He works very hard. The fact that he never complained about anything or cares about fame, fortune, or anything else of the sort astonished me the most. Every day after taking care of his daily requirements, he arrives at church at night and drops all of his remaining assets in a bill we have outside the church gate. He thinks no one is aware of his actions, and I have no interest in telling him that I am aware of his daily routine. Overall, he is a mystery rather than a bad person.

"Lahsiv, wake up", how can you fall asleep so quickly in a forest after eating lunch, I shouted at him. If we don't get going, the sun will set before we get to the tree house. We finally got some rest, and now we have to carry our bags, but the excitement of going to the tree house keeps me going. "Hooray, let's go!".

(Lahsiv and Rin have rested for over two hours; they must move quickly if they wish to get to the tree house before dusk.)

Will they succeed in reaching the tree house?
