Ophelia couldn't recognize the faces of the people she was with. Who were they?
They all had backpacks and seemed to be in a hurry to go somewhere.
She could see herself talking but didn't know how that was possible was she dead? She looked different though. Her hair was long and she wasn't as scrawny as she had become.
They were in the woods and she felt like she recognized them. She had seen them before but couldn't remember where.
There were three of them and she could see that they hadn't gotten far from the road where a red sedan had been packed which she assumed was what they had used as a mode of transport.
What were they doing there? Had they come to hike? But from the things they were saying it didn't seem to be the case.
"We will have to ambush them you know right now they are all together they are celebrating a union of their beta ", she heard herself saying.
Who were they ambushing and who was the beta?
She couldn't understand anything that she was saying
She seemed to be a different person there.
"I can't wait to see all of them dead I have waited for this day for the rest of my life ", she said chuckling.
Why was she happy that people were going to die?
Wait was she going to kill people? It couldn't be true right? Maybe she was just having a dream but then again when you were having a dream you couldn't be able to know if you were having a dream.
She followed behind them and no matter how many times she tried calling her name she couldn't hear herself.
"You're so excited about this am starting to get worried ", someone she was with said.
" Oh, hunter stop exaggerating you can't tell me you haven't been waiting for this day to reach. It's why you have been training for this year's fair This is the moment ", she said as she stopped to talk to the guy.
"Are you chickening out it's okay if you are I understand that this is your first mission and maybe you don't feel up to the task ", she told the guy.
" No. sorry I am not chickening out I was just asking am ready for the mission ", Hunter said.
" Okay, I don't want to walk into a bush with someone who isn't prepared. I don't want you to get me killed ", she said Hunter assured her that he was ready and they continued with the journey.
"Okay we will have to separate from here you guys will take that other intersection and I will take this one we will meet back at the car when we're all done. Have each other's back and make sure no one sees you. I don't have the energy to start explaining how I got you killed ", she said as she adjusted the dart gun on her shoulder.
It didn't look like a gun and neither did it look like a dart gun. It looked more complicated and she wondered what it was used for.
It wouldn't take long though she was going to find out exactly what it was used for.
She hadn't taken keen notice of the outfit until. then she realized that the outfit just looked like the surroundings that she was in.
She could see something that looked like a village upfront. Some noises were coming from it like they were celebrating.
She lay on the ground with her weird gun close to her and took out her binoculars and started observing them.
There were too many of them. and she wondered if then was the right time but there was no better time you always had to turn a moment into the perfect time.
She could see a man who was huge and bulky take a sip of his drink and laugh. They looked so happy you wouldn't think that they were monsters.
There was a kid beside him, a small bit who looked up to him with so much adoration she assumed that he was probably her father.
With her dart gun, she positioned herself and aimed it right at the kid. There was no emotion in her. She did not even feel a bit guilty.
It was just a normal day for her at work.
She didn't even think twice before she fired and a moment later the kid was on the floor. She didn't wait another moment.
As the father turned around to look at what was happening she aimed at him and fired and it hit him on his shoulder.
She had missed and that was the biggest mistake she had committed. She had calculated wrong and it was going to cost them.
She knew that in a matter of seconds, they were going to be there looking for her. A commotion had already started to brew up and as she stood from the ground she heard shrieks coming from the opposite side.
She knew what had ready happened, Hunter and Elsey were no longer. She knew what awaited her and couldn't wait any longer for it to happen.
She started running towards the direction she had come from and she could hear strong paws behind her.
She knew they were close but she knew she would make it out. She had to there was no way she was going to die just like that.
She couldn't feel her legs as she ran. It was as if all of a sudden the forest had turned into a maze and she couldn't seem to find her way back to their car.
She knew she couldn't outrun them but she was sure that she could outsmart the. only that this time round what she had done was way worse than what she had done before.
They were hot on her tail and as she turned around to check if they were there she was met with his red eyes.
They were so red like the color of blood and she knew that she had lost but she was not the type of person to give up.
She turned to run but they were also on the other side. She was surrounded by monsters that wanted nothing but to tear her skin apart.
There was no running anymore. They moved in circles toward her and shield her breath She didn't know what was going to happen first but she knew how it was going to end.
She had replayed this scene in her head way many times that she could admit to but she never knew how scared she was going to be.
Either way, she was going to be dead once they were done with her she just wanted it to be fast so that she couldn't feel pain.
