She had a raging headache and wondered what the hell was wrong with her body. She was sweating profusely and as she looked around she was back in the square root. she had been inhabiting.
Wait was everything she had seen all a lie?
She couldn't remember the details clearly but she could remember being in a room that was full of mirrors and then she could remember herself in the forest.
What had that been all about?
She could remember how she had said that she was going to celebrate the death of people. There was no way she could have meant that.
'I am a good person', she told herself.
What time was it?
She could hear her stomach grumbling and she wondered when was the last time she had eaten food.
She remembered one of the guards coming in but then remembered that he hadn't brought in food just pills.
Wait the pills? What was their work? Were they the reason she had been seeing things? Maybe they had made her high and she started hallucinating things.
No matter how much she tried to convince herself it seemed like a big lie to her. There was something she had done in the forest but couldn't remember what it was.
In the pit of her stomach, she had a sick feeling about it. She got off her bed and started pacing around the room wondering why they were not bringing her any food.
Were they trying to starve her?
She went back to her bed and as she was adjusting her pillow she was something. It was a yellow pill hut she couldn't remember how it had gotten there.
Was she the one who had placed it there? It seemed odd to think that someone else would put it there but then it was weird that she did not have any memory of putting it there.
Almost immediately after she could hear the door opening and a guard came in with a tray of food.
He placed it on the floor and for the first time spoke to her.
"I'll be back to collect it in thirsty minutes so be done by then ", he said to her as he turned around and left.
Thirty minutes was too much time for her considering how hungry she was.
She took the tray and started eating immediately. There were beans, rice, and Tina with a slice of oranges.
She wondered what had finally touched them and made them give her fruits.
In a matter of ten minutes, she was already finished eating. She stared at the small cup that contained her medicine and wondered why they even gave them to her.
Was she sick? and if yes why didn't they tell her what sickness it was Every day she started to doubt them.
She contemplated whether to take the pills or not. She wanted to know what would happen if she didn't take them but yet again what if she needed them?
She rooms the pills and placed them on her hands and then she realized that one of the pills looked exactly like the yellow pill she had found under her pillow.
What was its work?
Maybe she could take the other and stop taking it so that she could learn what it did. It wouldn't hurt, right?
It was just a pill after all that was the worst that could happen?
She took the pills and hid the yellow one and waited to see what would happen but nothing happened. She started feeling dizzy but that was something that she had gotten used to.
She waited but nothing happened so she just let it be maybe the pill wasn't as important as she had thought it would be.
She started counting waiting for the Girard to come and at ninety-nine, he was back with another one.
The procedure was the same as it was all the other times and she left with her hands behind her back.
She hated everything but always waited for the time that she could leave her room. It didn't matter that she was going to a lab.
At least she was meeting someone willing to talk to her.
As they passed by the hallways they took a different turn and she could hear voices.
She could hear grunts. the walls and wondered what it was. Maybe it was a side effect of the pills she was taking.
She had started hallucinating and hearing voices. Maybe the work of the yellow pill was to stop her from hearing this thing or seeing them.
Was she schizophrenic?
She tried to keep the voices out of her head but they became worse and worse as they approached the lab they seemed to die and she let out a sigh of relief.
She was going to be fine she told herself.
"They are not sure that this is the right thing to do ", said Dr. Ruffal.
" Did you tell them that this is the only way that we haven't tried ? ", Amelia asked him as she stood up from her chair.
" Yes, and they said that the only way they will allow you to do this is if they are not involved in any of it ", Dr. Ruffal said.
" So you mean to tell me they want me to do this but am the one to suffer all the consequences right? They want results but they do not want to be involved at all is that right ? ", she asked him.
" Amelia you can't always get everything you want to have u know that some things have a price and consequences ", Dr. Ruffal said as he tried to calm her down.
" So you think am doing this out of a personal vendetta too ? ", she asked him.
" I didn't say that all am saying is that how about you just finish the tests on the subjects available and if it doesn't work then maybe we can think of other alternatives ", he said in a calm tone.
She was losing it and if he said one more stupid thing he didn't know what she would tell him.
" Get out of my office I have a patient to see ", she said as she smiled changing her mood completely.
" Are you sure you can see her right now ?", he asked her.
"Why are you worried I might just kill her ?", she asked him chuckling.
