DANA
As soon as I heard what happened, I knew I had to come. I heard voices behind me, stopping me from storming out of the office when the meeting's about to end. Zyra was calling my name but I was striding fast. When the elevator door opened, Zyra kept up.
"Miss Dana…"
"don't. stay here."
She looked like she has something else to say but I glared at her. I pressed the button down the Ground floor and the door closed.
It was Peter who called me, telling me all the details as well as the conversation that instigated what happened. To put it simply, I was the one to be blamed.
I couldn't keep still inside the elevator. I was drumming my feet and pacing back and forth the limited space. For some reason, it felt like the red numbers decrease twice as slow in this moment. It's like going down 23 floors feel like forever. Feels like I had been too long.
