Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

My teacher Roxy Migurdia was a lovely woman and addition to my family. She was fairly beautiful with long blue hair styled into twintails and a fairly petite body however her personality was attractive as well. She didn't mind my age and asked me all the questions about mana her mind could come up with.

The thoughts running through her mind were extremely impressive and even I hadn't thought about some of them. Her knowledge was limited compared to what had been built up in my previous life however her creativity was amazing.

It had been a month since her arrival at my home and I am proud to admit that my knowledge and spell repertoire has advanced by leaps and bounds. While I was able to recreate spells prior to her arrival everything became much more simple when she was added to the equation.

Questions running through my mind were answered and theories I had yet to prove became much easier with our combined minds. The speed at which we grew was impressive however I would be the first to admit that I was still extremely weak with my father making that clear every morning.

However, at the moment we have reached a roadblock. Recreating a spell was easy enough for me as I simply had to copy how the mana's properties were altered when using the spell which allowed me to have much more control over my mana and how it is utilized however the same could not be said for Roxy.

If at all possible I would like to know how to grant even a portion of my Mana Sense to Roxy to further increase the speed of our experimentations however it was proving more difficult than I had thought.

Granting the effect was fairly easy in theory as using a self created variation of healing magic it wasn't impossible to change how the optics perceived the world to allow them to see the mana in the atmosphere however there is a large number of issues that I have to solve before it is possible to actually use.

The main issue is how to make the spell permanent. Simply using the spell to change how her optics worked would only function as long as I am actively using the spell as despite claiming it was changing how the optics function it is much more difficult than that.

It wasn't as simple as changing how the eyes took in information, it was allowing them to see an invisible portion of the world. Mana was everywhere however the same could be said for electricity and yet we could not see that either.

"Ahn~! Paul~!" Mom's moans of pleasure interrupted my thinking however simply creating a vacuum where sound could not enter using wind magic solved the issue instantaneously allowing me to think in peace.

The issues I'm facing can't be solved with conventional knowledge at least from the current era and so I would have to rely on belief and all the information and knowledge I can piece together to create the spell.

However, before that, I need to make the spell permanent. It was a difficult problem as chanting would have the same result and I haven't learned any other form of magic currently as there is little to no need to do so.

No, there is one form of magic that I can use. I ignored it as the way it used mana was unbelievably idiotic and redundant but perhaps that would work! Magic Circles in this world existed, however, they were extremely behind the times but if I polished them a little bit it would work perfectly! I planned to experiment with them later on but it's perfect!

The first problem to fix would be the shape. A circle is fairly strong as a geometric shape however it would be better if it were to take the shape of a hexagon. A triangle would be a good choice as well however a hexagon is simply better and allows for more room for information.

Currently, magic circles rely on extremely redundant mathematical equations such as doing 1+1+1 to equal three instead of 3*1. Of course, it is more complicated than that but it functions essentially the same way.

Changing how the magic circle stores and utilizes information will rely on trial and error however it should be extremely easy once the basic 'laws' are discovered. Since magic circles can be used by anyone simply by entering mana it would be permanent as well!

If I make it in such a way that it naturally draws in mana in a similar way that the human body does it should ensure that Roxy doesn't even need to add her own mana to it! Perhaps by adding circuits to transmit mana through the magic circle it will make it even more efficient as well!

And magic circles wouldn't end at just this! While chantless magic may be faster in total magic circles are much simpler and can take away the mental burden of imagining every detail of a spell!

Not only that but they can be combined by using chantless magic to 'draw' the magic circles anywhere in nature allowing them to be cast anywhere at any time! The possibilities are endless!

Grabbing a stack of papers and leaving my room I quickly made my way to Roxy's room to consult her. It may be late but I am much too excited about the prospect of power and another way to protect what is mine.

However, only halfway out of my door I stopped for a brief moment. In front of the door to my parent's room was Roxy, her hand between her legs. I could understand her sentiment and normally I would simply return to my room but right now I need her input while my creativity is flowing.

Continuing on my way Roxy looked over to me in fear but I don't care about that. Touching her shoulder I surrounded her in my mana and altered its attributes to alter the flow of gravity enough to where she floated just behind me.

"Rudy!? You didn't see anything right? Put me down! Please?" Roxy spoke hurriedly in complete panic, her hands waving all around her but I could not find it in me to care at the moment. My greed for knowledge was overpowering my rationale at the moment.

Opening the door to her room I put her down on her bed, ignoring her blushing face hidden behind her slightly wet hands. Placing the stack of papers on her table I quickly began scribbling down a rough magic circle. It was far from complete but it was a good start.

"Master Roxy, focus." I demanded. It was an unreasonable demand but once again I was too invested to care. Perhaps by tomorrow morning, Roxy could see mana! Just imagine how much we'd be able to discover!

Tonight I will bask in my greed and tomorrow I will apologize by giving her the ability to see mana.
