I breathed heavily and try to relish the air on the tight burn I'm feeling in my chest.
"All this time, I spent alone in my room. Deprived of everything and even seeing my own reflection, so it was all for nothing? For nothing mother? You lied mother.
You were so ashamed of me that you locked me up in my room till this day.
You made me so naive and I made a fool of myself in front of the other princess. You even hide me away from my relatives and even my siblings. You never told me I had a sister!"
I yelled angrily and I felt the ground shake.
"We can talk about this in your room, Emerald. You're causing a commotion."
She mumbles.
I chuckled under my breath.
And turned to face the audience that had gathered around.
My gaze fell on the warrior that had assembled themselves with armors and swords. while others had arrows and a bow with them.
I managed to catch a glimpse of Rory. He was carrying an arrow and a bow, with one knee bent on the floor he aimed in my direction.
Rory? A warrior?!
If I recall correctly, he told me he was one of the guards assigned to pick up other pastries.
He lied.
"Your highness, perhaps you dwelt with this before we do."
One of the warriors said.
"Emerald..."
"Don't you dare!" I turned to her and snapped at her. A bolt of lightning struck somewhere I hadn't taken notice of because my eyes were on my mother.
She rushed toward me all of a sudden and I wondered what she was up to.
'Is she trying to take me back home?' I wondered.
She got close and I noticed tears in her eyes and it made something break inside of me.
She brings her hand forward a bit to push me when I stumbled backward not letting her do so.
Her mouth opens.
'What is she doing?' I wondered
She starts gasping for breath.
And I furrowed my eyes in confusion wondering what she is up to.
It took a while to realize what had just happened.
Blood starts forming from her mouth and I gasped in horror.
I watch as her body limps forward and her face crash to the ground. The arrow that had struck her back suddenly comes into view.
Tears formed in my eyes and clouded my vision.
"Emily!" I heard someone yell and I did not bother to look at who the person was.
I look up to see who had shot at my mother, to find Lord Frederick, squatting on the floor.
He doesn't look upset or anything but rather angry he had missed its target.
He takes up another arrow from his bow and pointed it in my direction. The tip of the arrow flamed.
The arrow was very powerful. For if was Former queen Terra that made it herself.
It must bring demons or anyone it hits to its death.
He lets go of the arrow and it lungs forward.
I watch it slowly come close swiftly to my direction. Till mother jumps in yet again and it hit her on her chest.
I watch her fall to the ground again.
The arrow that had hit her on the back penetrated through her body and surfaced at the front.
I look at Lord Federick, who had run out of arrows. He calls for backup but no one answered him.
He yells again for the warriors to take all the gem keepers but they all acted like they did not hear him.
I hadn't noticed the Queens that had surrounded mom.
With my index finger pointed at them... A cloud-like bed starts to form under them. I heard the audience gasp but I cared less.
I gently moved them (The queen and my mother) to the side and returned my gaze to Lord Federick.
I lunged forward... And his eyes widened with fear.
He takes a quick step backward and turns to run but halts.
I had caused an earthquake on where he stood. If he takes any more steps he would fall and be crushed by the ground.
Lightning struck from the sky and it lands on lord Frederick. And he immediately plumps on the floor dead.
But that was not enough for me.
I raised my index finger and he exhaled bringing him back to life even when his body was in total ruin.
I bring both of my hands forward and all the weapons left the warrior's hands. They all faced lord Frederick and with my hands dropped back to my side, it comes crumbling on him. Still not satisfied, I raised my hand but I was interrupted.
"Enough! Emerald." I turn to the voice and it was my mother she was still in pain but she managed to sit up and her eyes were on me.
"You!" Another called and I turned my gaze to an angry-looking Marian.
My countenance loosened up on seeing her.
She has mom features. I might too, but I was I to know?
How was I to know when no one told me I had a sister?
The burning sensation on my cheeks made me snap out of my internal monologue and I stared at Marian who had enclosed the space between us, and I dare say... Slapped me.
"Marian- stay away!" Mom yelled.
I look to my mother's side and she was desperately trying to get down and get away from the Queen's grip on her.
"Hey!" Marian snapped and my gaze was back on her.
"How dare you treat my mother in that way! How dare you speak to her in that manner. Because of you, I was neglected at a young age. And was treated like a maid in my own mother's castle. After all, she did for you, those times she made sure you were safe when you nearly drowned yourself with your powers! You almost burned yourself by your flame! You struck at your mother and she still kept taking care of you! She neglected me for you, Only to make sure you were okay. And you come at her for doing so?! At least you were cradled to bed, I wasn't! You were read stories and even allowed to read stories, I wasn't. You were opportune to have your first training when you clocked ten, I wasn't when it was my turn. I waited for my mother but she didn't come. Just to find her by your side taking care of you, And you dared treat her that way?! I hate you! I hate you so much!"
I hadn't noticed the tears that had started falling freely.
Was I selfish to not realize this? And selfish to call mother selfish?
I crouched on the ground as I wailed loudly.
My hair fell to my face as I kept ok carrying. I felt something substantial ripped out of my body and I screamed.
I don't know what's happening except the cries I heard from the people.
"She opened it!" Someone yelled, "She destroyed the barrier and opened it!"
I could feel the tension everywhere and the wails and cries of the people. But I stayed rooted to the ground as I continued crying.
All of a sudden my body rises on its own accord and I was hanging in midair.
That was when I saw it.
Chariots were coming through a portal.
Demons! They came next and they flap their wing and laugh maliciously.
That was when I realize I had destroyed the barrier and caused havoc on the land.
"Ready your weapons, Shoot!" I heard Rory says and they all shoot towards my direction."
I close my eyes as I await the weapons to hit me. Maybe it would be better if I was dead.
I waited for a minute and nothing happened.
I open my eyes and look around frantically to see where the weapons had landed.
Few demons that had made to attack me from behind were already crashing down.
"Ensure to protect our Future queen!" Rory yelled and the warrior chanted a yes before shooting at the people of the chariots.
'They still wanted to save me?'
Five horses flew to my side in midair.
Mom and one of the queens sat on one. Freya and Serena sat on one. And for the rest three, were sat on individually.
I turn to look at my mother who seemed like an arrow didn't pierce her some moments ago,
"You need to control your powers, Emerald!"
"I can't." I wailed "I don't know what to do!"
The two chariots came forward in our direction.
I stretched my hand and they all turned to dust.
"It pretty much appears you know EXACTLY what to do!" One of the queens with Red hair said.
I assumed she is the queen of the Fire region and Freya's mother.
"Just try, Emerald. The whole of this planet depends on you." She said.
My eyes went over to the ground and I see everyone trying desperately to fight the demons and creatures.
I turn over to the Portal. Taking a deep breath I point my hand at it and magic flows as it wields close.
Just for it to open again, much bigger and larger than the previous.
Tears brim my eyes as I look over at mother.
But mother had her gaze elsewhere and fears filled her eyes.
I turn the direction she was looking and at the same time creature entered.
Their auras emit strong power and dark magic.
"Lilith children!" I heard Freya's mom wail in recognition.
But they weren't three.
They were just two.
They flew down not recognizing our presence in midair.
One of them with short hair flew over to the big river. She points something at if and if completely dried off.
Serena and one of the queens I guessed was her mother, crouched low on the horse.
I look down and noticed the people and species from the water regions had started falling. Dead.
"We need to hide somewhere."
"I know somewhere!" Freya exclaimed
And we all made our way to the cave.

"They want the Gems!" Queen Fiona says.
"And it won't take long before they find us and the gem. And we all get killed." Mom added.
"We'll fight them off to our death but we'll not let them have the gems!" Mom says and they(the queens) all nod.
They stretched their hand forward and transfer the gems to us. It disappeared into my body just like it did to the rest.
"Always know I love you, Emerald." mom whispers in my ear.
The Queens held their hand as they mutter incoherently.
I turn my gaze to find one of them, flying in this direction.
I yelled angrily and a surge of energy burst through me and I strike at it.
It turns into dust and withered away.
The other most have felt its fellow demise for it growled angrily and to our hearing.
"It's coming!" Freya cried.
The Queens finished muttering the inherent words a small portal opens...behind us.
Freya was the first to go in, and Serena followed. Aurora did the same and I stand still staring at my mother.
"I'm so sorry!" I say to her as I cried.
"I love you." with that she pushed inside the portal.
I haven't fully entered when I saw the weird-looking people in human form. It dives its hand into my mother's chest and brings out her heart from the other side.
"Mother!" I screamed and I fired at them.
Mom went down by my lightning before the other did.
And I blanked out inside the portal.
