Chapter 14 - Chapter fourteen

"I'm sure you're excited about going back home."흫_흫흫_흫

It's been three days since Emerald has been at the hospital. At least, that's what she has been told.

The woman which emerald had come to recognize as; matilda, kept coming to check up on her daily.

The doctor had advised fewer people to visit Emerald. The faces she had seen on the first day became fewer till it was just matilda that comes to see her.

And today is the day Emerald was to leave the hospital. He (the doctor) had asked several questions to check if she had any loss or shortness of memory. But surprisingly, Emerald had been able to answer all.

It baffled her that she had someone else memories imprinted in her head.

"I'm sure you've missed your best friend James. You didn't seem to notice his presence when you gain consciousness, but he's home waiting for our arrival." Matilda says again.

Emerald said nothing but just stared at her as she packs the rest of her stuff.

Emerald divert her gaze from her and stared at the window. That was all she had been doing since her stay in the hospital.

She was afraid to check it out, but wouldn't stop staring at it.

Kept staring, at what the outside, or 'home' like matilda had said, entails.

She continuously wonders what it would be like.

'Is it the same as this?' she wondered

'Or better?'

For some reason, this hospital seemed like her old room. She was given extreme care and has been well taken care of, but she wasn't allowed to do anything.

Like walk around, or get out of the room.

But after matilda had informed her about leaving this hospital to 'home', she grew anxious.

"We are all set, let's go," Matilda says

"Where?" Emerald asks nonchalantly her gaze still fixed on the window.

"Home..." Was her response, before she came next to emerald holding her arms gently, in a bit to help her up.

"Home..." Emerald repeatedly mumbles before her gaze departs from the window.

She got on her feet and let Matilda lead her to...𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦.

"We are here!" A man in white fitted clothes informed, making emerald eyes divert from the beautiful walls of Earth.

Emerald had expected things to be a little different here on earth. But what she had not expected was to see another means of transportation that isn't a chariot.

'Surely,' she had thought

'What can earth make that will take them to a place faster except a chariot?'

But now that she is riding and sitting on it fantastically, she had agreed upon herself.

Not only did they create something that will take them to their specific destination, but they also squashed all the air one would have while flying on a chariot, into their creation.

'How fantastic?!'

While on the ride, emerald had made a mental note to not act childish but rather seat calm and observe.

But that was long forgotten when she car across beautiful buildings that nearly touched the sky. She glued herself to the window as she gaze at the beautiful shops and restaurants.

Even the road!

There was no grass lying on it. She was beyond fascinated.

She had no idea how long she had stayed seated and glued till the man on whites, came to a stop and interrupted her moment.

The car suddenly bolts forward, making her almost fall to the ground.

But thank God for the seat belt.

She let out a sigh of relief and settled back in her seat.

The guy that is covered in white fitted materials comes and removes the belt. Emerald watch as the belt returns to its position in a flash.

She had been so into the seat belt she had not noticed his (the driver) outstretched hands.

When she finally sees it, she takes it and comes out of the car.

Her eyes settled on the mansion.

The walls looked old but it was beautiful and held depicted designs, that also have so much meaning.

Earth was truly a bride!

She removes her gaze from the tall buildings and looks at her nearby surroundings... And beautiful flowers before it lands on the Guy standing in the garage.

His excitement was visible.

His eyes glowed with delight and his humorous face didn't do anything to hide his one-sided dimple.

Matilda comes to stand right next to her and leads her onwards to the house.

As she gets close, she recognizes him as the guy from the hospital. He was one of the few people that were present that day.

He spreads his arm, a bit to welcome her but she just walked past him. She notices matilda stop walking and she stops walking too and turned to look at her.

She has her hands on his shoulder and rubs it gently.

"She will come around soon." She says reassuringly

"Ahh... Most definitely! She can't do without her best friend." He said the last part directing his gaze towards Emerald.

Emerald doesn't return his smile.

She just stares at him.

Memories of both of them flash across her mind.

Emerald unconsciously muttered a word.

"Fish."

She watches as the dark-skinned guy, chuckles in excitement.

He leaves where he was standing and rushed to where emerald was in a bit to hug her.

Emerald turned the other way when she heard a voice call her name, and showed her back to The guy.

She continues her walk to the house in a bit to search for who had called her.

Matilda comes to join her some minute later.

Her eyes settled on familiar eyes...

"Your highness..." she heard the old lady who was sitting on the couch mumble as punished tears welled in her eyes.
