"Alexa, go ahead and read out the rules for Evelynn," Ezekiel instructed.
"These are the rules binding you in this house.
Rule 1: no clubbing or partying with friends.
Rule 2: you are only allowed to go out once a week."
"What?" Evie yelled unknowingly, she gazed at Ezekiel only to see a mischievous smirk on his face.
This devil!
"Did I ask you to stop, Alexa?" Ezekiel asked with a serious tone that made Alexa gulp and continue talking.
"Rule 3: you are prohibited from invading each other's room unless when invited,"
Evie's face flushed after hearing what Alexa said, she remembered that day that she tried to… Okay, let's not go there.
"Rule 4: you are only permitted to move around in the house with me by your side." Alexa added, causing Evie to frown.
"Rule 5: you have to act like a lovely wife to your husband only when your parents or his parents are around.
Rule 6: you are prohibited from seeing or visiting Juicy from now on till further notice."
"This is stupid!" Evie roared in anger but Ezekiel wasn't affected, his face was as calm as ever.
"Ezekiel!!" Evie roared, holding his intense gaze on her. Though his gaze was intimidating, she still held it and did not back down.
"This is totally outrageous, how do you expect me to abide by all these ridiculous rules you and Alexa have created? I have no…"
"Quiet!" Ezekiel thundered, making Evie gulp and she looked away immediately.
"Go on, Alexa," Ezekiel's voice returned to the normal cold voice.
"Rule 7: your phone would be seized till further notice," Alexa's statement made Evie subconsciously hit her hand on the table and sprang up to her feet instantaneously.
"What sort of rubbish is this? Listen Ezekiel, I would never ever abide to those stupid rules of yours. Never!" Evie said firmly.
"And should I remind you that I am a woman who can take care of herself and you can't push me around the way you like. As far as I am concerned, I would never obey those rules," Evie added and turned to leave.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you. If you know what I have against you, then you would be on your knees begging me for mercy," Ezekiel said calmly, causing Evie to cock an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" Evie asked, halting in her tracks.
"Here, see it for yourself," Ezekiel handed her over his phone.
Evie stiffened watching the video of her making out with the dude from the club.
"Are you going to use this against me?" Evie asked, trying to sound as calm as possible.
"Depending," Ezekiel replied.
"So what now?" She asked, letting out a sigh.
"Yes have to and must abide by all the rules Alexa has read out and if not…" Ezekiel trailed off with a devilish smile on his handsome face.
"If not, what happens?" Evie asked, looking so impatient.
"Then I have no other choice than to release this video on the internet as well as cutting off this marriage. You know that this would definitely bring shame to you and your family," Ezekiel explained.
Evie heaved deeply before saying, "I know that I made a mistake by making out with a total stranger but do you really have to go to this extent?" Evie asked.
"Well, it is your choice to obey the rules," Ezekiel said before he left the dining room.
Evie collapsed on the sofa in her room as her hand was tightened on her gown.
She just couldn't abide by those rules neither was she going to allow Ezekiel post that video of hers.
For goodness' sake! What kind of husband did she get married to?
'Only if I didn't followed Juicy to the club, all this won't be happening!' Evie yelled at herself internally but this was no time for regrets. What happened had happened.
Trying to calm down, she found herself walking from one end of her room to another.
'Ezekiel can't get away with this,' she said, determined to get Ezekiel back.
Just then her phone rang and looking at the caller's ID, she found out that it was her mom.
Damn! She had forgotten that her parents were now divorced.
"From one problem to another, can't I get peace of mind even for a minute?" Evie yelled loudly, collapsing on the bed.
"Hello Evie, how are you doing?" Sonia asked immediately and Evie picked up the call.
"I am fine mom, you?"
"I am good. I hope you are doing fine," Sonia added.
"I am doing just fine mom," Evie replied and Sonia noticed the deep sarcasm in her words but chose to ignore it.
She made a huge mistake by asking her daughter to marry Ezekiel. If only she could go back in time, she wouldn't have allowed Evie to marry Ezekiel.
"I called to inform you that I am out of the country for good and I don't think I am returning anytime soon," Sonia said, causing Evie to sigh.
"Fine mom, just take care of yourself," Evie said nonchalantly.
Suddenly she heard her mother's scream, as if someone was chasing her or something but she couldn't pinpoint what it was.
"Mom!" Evie yelled over the phone but got no response.
"Mother!" Evie cried out as she got up to her feet instantaneously.
The shouts on the other side of the phone died down.
"Mom! Mom please answer me," Evie pleaded, but what she got shocked her to the core.
"You think you can outsmart my master. This is the end of you, Sonia!" A deep masculine voice was heard from the background.
"No!!!!!!! Mom!" Evie yelled and immediately the line went dead.
Hot tears flowed down her eyes. This can't be happening!
Couldn't be that her…
No hell way or was she wrong?
