"The item is coming up!" Asmodeus exclaimed
"The surprise?" I pondered
She nodded her head excitedly
"Next up we have a very exclusive item." The announcer shouted into the microphone as a small pedestal was wheeled in. "It may look small, but don't let its size deceive its worth. It's a new dimension we found where time didn't exist. That's right, time doesn't exist in this dimension, if you store something inside here you can take it out a thousand years later with the same conditions. But that's not the best part of this item, the best part of this item is that we found this ring in an ancient ruin rumored to be 20,000 years old! It's been confirmed to be untouched until the lucky buyer buys this item. Our artificers guess that this ring belonged to a powerful person such as a king because dimensional science was still emerging at that time. The ring stores the equivalent to a meter square. The starting bid is ξ1,250,000"
"ξ2,000,000" a resounding voice stood out. It was spoken from the highest private room which has a direct view to the auctioning board.
Silence spread through the room.
"Going once, Going twice…Sold for ξ2,000,000 to the Fine Gentlemen in the Private Lounge!"
The ring was promptly rolled to the backstage as the next item came up and the announcer continued speaking.
Mammon was smiling.
The reason was simple! He was an avid collector! He enjoyed collecting things, and now if you combine it with the natural tendency of people to gamble, then it's obvious why he's so happy.
"Were you happy with my present dear?" Asmodeus asked with puppy eyes.
"Happy? Happy doesn't cut it! I'm more than Excited! You know my collection is missing from that era!" Mammon held a wide grin on his face. His eyes sparkled as a butler entered the room, asking him to pay before they would give him the ring.
The ring was soon delivered to our room, where they continued to announce that all of our food and drinks were now complementary and free.
"Tell me though Asmodeus, Where did you find this ring?"
"I had my connections tell me that they knew someone who got a hold on the ring. I told him that if he sold it to me I could give him cash immediately, but he insisted on auctioning it off to see if there's anyone that wants to buy it."
"Want to make a bet?" I asked Asmodeus, "A bet to see what will be in there?"
Asmodeus smirked, "I've known you far too well to know that you won't offer a bet that isn't in your favor"
"I know that you know that I'll only offer a bet that's in my favor, which is why I'll just take the opposite end of your bet. If you bet one thing being there, I'll bet against it"
"What if I bet that space will be there?"
"Then I would bet against it!" I claimed acting as arrogant as I can be
"Dummy, without time how can there be space?" Mammon interjected.
I looked at Mammon with a look of horror. 'H-How could you!' I spoke to him with my eyes.
"Ahhh!" Asmodeus yelped, "If it wasn't for Mammon's I would've fallen for your trap"
"You were the one walking into it. I just offered to match your bet and bet against whatever you bet against. You choosing space was out of my control"
"But isn't the likelihood of something not being there higher than something being there in the first place?"
I paused, "Not for all things, Do you still want to take the bet?"
"There's something I'm missing" Asmodeus jeered, "I'm not taking the bet. I keep losing to you whenever we take a bet"
I faked gasped, "You've won before!" .
"Not if you add all of our winnings and losses you calculating snake" she stuck out her tongue.
I stood up just as the ring entered the room. "I think we'll hold a meeting about Earth soon, I'll need to send letters to all of the heads."
Mammon nodded while Asmodeus protested a bit before wishing me goodbye.
