Even if we were in the heart of the Empire and the people around us could keep a secret until their graves, we still entered another area. A deep dark astral hue was the key trait of Diablo's dimension.
We entered a world where the sky looked shattered, like a bowling ball smashed into multiple glass panes of paintings and someone took a snapshot of that moment and kept it in a dimension.
Stars numbered the sky, but they were spread like broken pieces of shards trapped in the sky. I found myself on a little island and realized this was Diablo's personal dimension.
"This is where we'll discuss your following plans" Diablo continued, "This process will mess with your consciousness a little. When you're sleeping in this world you'll be awake in the other one, when you're sleeping in the other one, you'll be awake in this one. Time is different between here and there, and your self on Earth will only remember bits and pieces of your days here as if it was a passing dream. You'll fully be in control when you're here, but when you go back to Earth your life will seem to continue as one continuous stream."
Two dotted lines appear in the sky as Diablo waved his hand. "Each of the dotted lines represent Inkosyth and Earth. When you go to Earth your consciousness will experience the sequence of events like this." A bold white line went from one of the dotted lines before it moved to the other dotted line.
"It'll feel like one continuous story for you, with sporadic moments where you scarcely remember sudden memories of another consciousness in Inkosyth. It'll feel like you're watching a movie whenever you wake up, before you continue on your day." The bold line had lighter lines that gradually connected to the other dotted line, like it was a long comb.
"Your Inkosyth self will experience the same thing except for him, his story is that he sleeps every now and then and continues to live in Inkosyth as he manages the finances of the Empire."
"So you're splitting my consciousness in half" I clarified
"Yes, but we can't actually split your consciousness into two, we can make you sleep in a place, and then from there split your consciousness into two"
"One-Half of your Consciousness will be managing Earth's conquest while the other half will be controlling a separate body here.Your main body will be under rest in a separate dimension."
My face grimaced. That would mean they would have access to my true body.
When a being transcends the natural law and creates an entirely new dimension which holds their own natural law they in essence become Gods. There is no more need for the human body, which can be stabbed by the heart, cut in the throat, or severed and pierced. We abandon the system that used to keep us alive because it's no longer necessary, and in its stead we use the dimension as our new body to become our new body.
It becomes the system that lets us live, controls how we breath, lets us exert influence in the world. The flow of energy becomes our new blood, and we transcend into a being who has arms and feet that can move the world.
The number of people in the Inkosyth Empire that have assimilated with a dimension are a few thousands, the ones that have assimilated with a higher dimension such as a powerful primary dimension or a low secondary dimension can be counted in the mid hundreds, while the ones that fully assimilated with a strong secondary dimension are in the double digits, and the ones that assimilated their dimension with a tertiary dimension are exactly 9.
The 7 of us underneath Sovereign Melphistoles and an Old Ancient Being that enjoys wandering.
If I had to use Earth terms, we were the nuke's nuke that could make a planet explode, but not all of our powers needed to go kaboom boom to make the planet explode.
If you mess up the financial system a little bit, then it's entirely possible for you to make the world implode on itself, without lifting a weapon from your seat. That was my power, that was the dimension I held. Unbridled Knowledge.
Wait wait, you might say. Unbridled Knowledge? What does that mean?
I thought you were in Finance! Wouldn't you be the God of Finance? You're the God of Finance of the Inkosyth Empire! Of course it makes sense that you're the God of Finance. It only makes sense that you're the God of Finance.
I am but I am not!
Like 4 blind men touching an elephant, one touches the trunks and says, "This must be the Elephant, a snake with a long thick skin." You're part wrong, and you're part right!
I honestly didn't know how this happened either.
I liked knowledge, I collected knowledge, my personal dimension was a storage of knowledge, and to get more knowledge I had to raise my strength. I assimilated with a dimension to understand how the dimensions moved, and from there once I finished consuming all the knowledge in that plane I moved on to the next one and suddenly I'm here.
Melphistoles saw me, told me about a vision of the empire, a place where people no longer needed to fight, where they are underneath a law which is fair and just, and a place where we change the rules of the game.
At first I thought he was a madman!
Change the world? From a world of the strong to a world where one would be rewarded for helping others? Shifting the world to a place where we no longer needed to look behind our backs when we woke up? One where we didn't need to worry if we'll survive through droughts or winters?
I didn't laugh at him though. He had these eyes that seem to be retelling you the past even if it hasn't happened.
Then he said those few wonderful words, "This world will generate new types of knowledge"
I kept that thought in my ear, until I seemed to be re-reading the same books over and over again. Knowledge that seemed to be repetitive, as if I've found each color and now was looking at the different shades. I wanted new colors! I wanted to see that world, where the power came from those who innovated and were rewarded for such things! I wanted to see that world! I wanted to find new knowledge. I wanted to learn more about the stories of people.
