"Mammon," I whispered.
I looked around at the highest peak of the financial capital of Ensyllis. My house resembled a floating skyscraper, with a large garden on the top of the tower. The tower was made out of a dark obsidian like material that reflected the sunlight, yet was cool to touch.
There were many other floating towers in my view that numbered like the stars in the night. The ground below me was flooded with floating towers in all shapes and sizes and I was the tallest one. We were in the heights where our hands could grace space, where space was a couple stories from the top of this tower.
It was a dark atmosphere at night, but the lights down below were still bustling. Each floating tower looked like a well crafted dark glass pencil, many were obsidian in color, yet rarely did any two towers look exactly like each other.
Each of these well crafted pencils had their own personality and uniqueness, as you went down you began to see more similar towers like a horde of identical black pencil-shaped obelisks that seemed to be tasteless in a way.
Amongst the flood of floating pencils and pens you could see small amounts of movement indicating the bustling life in here while below, where the people soon became no more than a speck of dust, I saw the hustle and bustle of the city as well. There were people moving throughout the open city.
There numerous buildings on the bottom remind me of grains of sand, yet I knew each one was a very unique building.
Right above the grains of sands you could see towers that too rose into the sky touching the feet of the floating towers, with sky bridges and chains that connected the floating towers to one another like we were in a spider's web.
As you went further up the chains became fewer and fewer until they seemed to be floating like crystals in water.
Oftentimes amongst the cluster you can see a sporadic strike of white flashing through the city.
Those were trains flying around like lightning contained in a bottle. The lightning cracked and shot through the city, like each tower was a metal rod with lightning flowing in between, shocking almost as if randomly, as sometimes it went from up to down, and then from side to side, most often it went diagonally and curved.
As you saw further and further away, the buildings became shorter and shorter, and then like every big city you can start to see the slums.
I frowned, the slums were never my intention, but in a city full of promise harboring so many people the slums were inevitable.
If you stare at the slums that resembled crushed pebbles on the ground, you can notice a thick, noticeable blue strip going straight through the slums reaching the horizon.
Inside the blue strip were cars passing through it at incredible speeds like blood flowing through a giant's vein.
There were many levels to Ensyllis, the bottom was where the city began, with thick streets that failed to capture the dream of wealth in our empire forcing us to expand upwards. The lower middle was how the city expanded, using minerals that would apply buoyancy to these towers as the foundation, the towers began to act like it was in liquid even if it was built upon tons of metals. Chains were implemented to make sure none of the towers fell, acting like a web to make sure no tower ever fall, and the middle was the continuation of this process, although the towers continued to become more expensive to build as they got higher.
This resulted in the sparse upper middle and upper portion of this city is what's left with the richest corporations and individuals dwelled.
The highways are our path of transportation to other cities.
I believe I've flaunted my beloved city enough, I need to go to Earth to siphon their resources to Inkosyth.
I snapped my fingers, conjuring a small white portal. A small petite face with long ears, and dark tan skin appeared with small dainty hoops around her ear.. Her hair was tied back and a sudden look of surprise was on her face. "Alyssa" I began, "Can you get me in contact with Mammon?"
"Of course Lord Belphegor," Alyssa responded. She closed her eyes and the portal's light shook and shimmered. Ripples sparked out, and Mammon's bulky handsome face showed up.
"Belphegor! I'm sure you're here to talk about Earth"
"You've read my mind, as expected of my best friend"
"Hahahahah" A hefty guffaw echoed from the palm sized portal, "Come over, I have the information you need. Diablo is here with me as well"
A clap was heard across the portal, and the flames around the portal diminished as a rocky outline formed with different minerals outlining the portal.
It grew in size until it was large enough for me to step into. I saw two people on the other side of the portal.
