….
Van, the Undead now looks at Alex, Lily, and the plain-looking girl behind him.
"Well, I can't go back to the academy like this," says Van, a disgusting rotten stench coming out of his mouth as he speaks.
'He turned himself into an undead. Now… this requires a complete change of tactics.' Analyzes Alex. 'While an undead has almost no weak points, a Zombie type undead also lowers the recipient's intelligence by quite a bit. Though due to being a mage and having a high intelligence stat, Van is still coherent and can make complicated plans even as a zombie.'
Though he is analyzing the old man, Alex also keeps an eye on the plain-looking girl who seems terrified. Her eyes were full of regret at why she did something like this.
But what Alex is more concentrated on is that he doesn't remember someone like her from the game. He dismisses thoughts like that as soon as they come, he can't be distracted thinking about other things than this fight, and even in-game he didn't know everything.
The zombie Van now can see that he is outnumbered. Zombies can't regenerate mana naturally due to being dead creatures, so he knows that even with infinite stamina he will lose against the kids.
"Summon Undead." Unlike before, he says the name of the spell out loud to not waste even a minuscule amount of mana now.
Countless dark shadow holes appear on the ground. Alex narrows his eyes at this and touches a little blood from Lily, who is now laying down on the ground bleeding.
His hand moves fast and he draws a magic circle on the ground.
Immediately a red portal opens up where the magic circle drawn in blood was.
Two blood-red spiders at the size of one's palm come out. Their bodies shine in red light, they immediately move around the room and start creating webs around the walls. They seal any dimensional rift within the room, even the undead summoning.
Van grits his teeth at this.
{Ice Prison}
A magic circle appears above Van and almost immediately, it creates a cage of ice around the man.
Van growls like a rabid animal and thrashes around, as a mage his physical strength is nothing special, even as a zombie when his physical strength was still not enough to break through the cage.
But at the same time, the plain-looking girl was breathing heavily, signifying that she is running low on mana. Alex saw this, a frown adorns his face, he is running kinda low too… also he feels like he will fall asleep at any moment now. His mental fatigue was almost at his breaking point.
So he decides to take the action that he needs to, he gets down and touches Lily, immediately stopping her bleeding by using blood blotting spells.
He is in a very bad situation now, and while he does trust Lily too much. He still trusts her more than the other plain-faced mage.
He slaps Lily, but she doesn't wake up, his face turns ugly when he notices this.
"Lily wake up!" Calls out Alex, his voice being a little on edge at the time. He can ser the Van has gotten the hang of using his mana which now has a decaying element to it. He touches the ice cage and it starts melting.
"Hehehehehehe… you are about to die kid." Says Van, his tongue wagging about as he sees the nervous look on Alex's face.
But Alex isn't out of it yet as he creates a fireball and brings it close to Lily's skin, making her yelp and wake up. She looks at him and then at the zombified Van.
She can feel the danger coming out of the Zombie and she gets ready to fight. But Alex grabs her roughly by the arm and tells her. "Never leave my side no matter what, understand me?"
Lily doesn't know what he is talking about but she still nods at him. Alex smiles and pats her head, if she didn't know any better Lily would think that the smile on his face was genuine.
Finally, Alex takes out the dragon horn and looks at Van with a vicious look in his eyes. He takes a deep breath and runs mana through the Dragon Horn a certain way.
VROOOOOM!!!!
A horrible sound is created, but seemingly no one else except Van could hear it. The zombified old man's head starts leaking liquid.
*burst*
His head bursts like a watermelon, without knowing what even hit him. Alex smiles at this, but his celebration didn't last that long.
[You have used the Dragon Horm special ability
Alex can't even scream as blood bursts out of his body like a fountain, using a Legendary Item as a Rank 2 is not so easy.
Baam!
He falls on the ground and due to the fatigue is all piled up, falls unconscious.
"Alex!!" Lily exclaimed worriedly about him. She can see that he isn't playing games anymore.
The plain-looking girl's eyes marginally widened as she looks at the dragon horn being held tightly by Alex.

….
The next time Alex opens his eyes, he sees a white ceiling above him. He is surprised, but his head is clear. His mind is no longer fatigued as he had slept for two days straight now.
He stands up and sees Lily sitting on a chair next to him while leaning on his bed… she is sleeping.
Alex pats Lily in the head gently, in his eyes, the issue had done good enough with the given situation. He looks around and sees a lavish room with a king-sized bed, a nice room decorated with a lot of aesthetically pleasing paintings and colors on the walls. There was also a bookshelf on one side of the room, in there were many books about different subjects of magic. On the opposite side of the bookshelf are three simple wooden desks. There is also a big window and a door to the balcony.
Alex's eyes widen in panic as he looks around, but he breathes a sigh of relief as he sees the Dragon Horn is on Lily's back. He can also identify that it is not a copy due to the aura the item releases.
'I am in Magic Academy,' realized Alex as he gets up from his bed. Unbothered by being only in his underwear.
He goes towards the balcony and opens the window. Sunlight assaults his eyes suddenly and he squints as his eyes get used to the light.
As soon as he opens it he can see a giant steam-punkish city that seems a combination between technology and magic, with flying ships going around the sky and other strange weird structures. Even flying houses and strange wires connecting the buildings were common there.
The people below him seem to be rushing even as they do their daily chores. Alex smiles at this in excitement, he can't help it. So he goes and puts Lily on his bed, then he goes towards the bookshelf.
He knows that there is no time to waste now as he is in this place. He also knows that the Academy has given this room to him for free.
The first book that he decides to read from the shelf is 'Buffing Magic Part ½'.
Immediately Alex sits on the left side desk and starts reading. Mages are feared for their versatility, so he has a determined look in his eyes as he reads. Not planning to waste potential points on things like this. He is no longer a player who can learn things only by using the system… this is a reality for him now.
