…
There were no guards around the mansion, there was no need for them. The gate was also unlocked as he easily pushed it open.
As Alex enters the mansion with Ain by his side. He sees the estate that he hasn't seen in quite a while, ever since he played the game back in the day. Also, he can smell the fresh air inside the mansion.
Even on the inside, there is no one, it's almost as if the mansion is abandoned. But Alex also sees that the place is too clean for no one to be around, and the grass is cut neatly. Showing that a lot of 'work' goes into it.
He stops for a second as he looks at the statue of a crudely carved statue in the middle of the estate, it was surrounded by a fountain. But Alex knew better, this thing in front of him was a Legendary Rank Item called Legendary Fighting Golem. It has the strength of a Legendary Rank fighter and it is used by the Headmistress.
"Huh?" Ain stops too and looks at Alex curiously. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing…" Says Alex, before giving the golem one last look and he starts walking again.
"Hmmm… did you see something that bothered you?" Asks Ain as they continue to walk.
"No, nothing like that." Answers Alex, intentionally leaving certain things in the air. Wanting to make Ain assume some things. "It just felt weird…"
"What? The statue?" Wonders Ain waving her hand nonchalantly. "I guess judging by the shìtty sculpting that went into it would make anyone feel weird."
Alex is a little perturbed by Ain saying that because the Headmistress is the person who made it in her younger years. That Golem is the reason that the Headmistress is considered one of the strongest amongst the Legendary Rank. She can technically be a warrior and mage at the same time.
"If I was you I wouldn't insult someone's house as soon as I came in." Warns Alex, insinuating that she could be dead by tomorrow because no one insults the Headmistress out loud. But another feeling of suspicion developed inside of him. 'Was she...'
Ain only smiles innocently at that, not knowing that she had offended the Headmistress… people on the other side of the continent would die if they did it. But she did it right in the Headmistress' house.
…
The duo continues idly chatting with each other and as they enter inside the mansion a single maid leads them to the room in which Alex's Hero Status will be discussed.
The pretty maid was strange and spoke with a monotone voice. Leading Alex to believe that it is a homunculus, an artificially created life… or in layman's terms… a Magical Item… in a way.
After all, anything created artificially by the combination of magic and hard physical matter is mostly called Magic Item. Though there are some exceptions like potions, which are the combination of magic and different ingredients. That is a whole different thing from the Magic Items.
...
Finally, they are in front of a normal looking wooden door.
"You can come in." A voice comes from the inside. Alex frowns at this slightly, but only for a split second as he enters the room.
Immediately he is relieved because he sees a cozy room with a fireplace to the side, flower vases all around and different flowers all around. There were also some paintings along the walls, they were all of the Legendary Rank people that have come out of the Magic Academy. There were only ten people… which is more than enough for an institution that has been active for only around two hundred years. The average rate of a Legendary Rank appearing is once every fifty years, but that isn't an exact representation as many Legendary Ranks died during the Dragon War one century ago.
A red dragon had appeared out of nowhere and almost all of the Legendary Ranks in the Human Continent went to fight it. They lost countless Legendary Rank fighters … an unexpected amount. But none of them could fight the Dragon alone, even though it was the same Rank as them.
Its hide was almost impenetrable… or so they say. There were ten Legendary Combatants in that hunt, part of them was the Headmistress and the previous Pope… and the only survivor was the Headmistress. Of course, many people would be shocked, but that would only cause the people to fear Dragons more. Especially since this one could create creatures who were at Rank 4 or Rank 3. His Class played a big part in this.
But at the same time, Alex knows how strong dragons are… and they definitely can't handle ten Legendary Rank fighters. It should have been an absolute slaughter, but instead 'coincidentally' the Headmistress survived, and 'accidentally' she was given all of the Dragon parts. Especially its core. He could see what was happening from a mile away.
The Headmistress betrayed the others and killed them so she can have all the spoils. Now people get what they deserve, karma and all that. Alex doesn't believe in any of it, because after that betrayal, the Headmistress becomes a complete and utter powerhouse, raising her magic academy to higher levels… after all… there is a reason no other magic schools exist today. Because she took care of them, she wanted to increase her profits, that was all there is to it.
She had checkmated everyone a hundred years ago, even now, everyone in the Human Continent is in her checkmate. Alex can assume that only Camilla "The Undead Queen"...
...
In the end, though, all that annalize goes through Alex's head in a split second. Especially as he sees a shelf full of books. Mostly which consist of different legends of both humans and other races.
Also, the person that he sees sitting at the Headmistress's desk is the Vice-Principal. She has dark curly hair, brown eyes, wears rectangular glasses, and looks in her late twenties. She is wearing a suit that an office woman would wear.
Alex didn't even need to see through the
Though if they fought and Alex had time to prepare she would lose to him. Especially if he uses the Ritual Magic that is available to the Blood Mage Class.
The woman looks at Alex and has a cold look in her eyes.
"You are a Blood Mage." Says the woman coldly. Not leaving any room for refusal, just stating it as a known fact already.
"If I hypothetically was a Blood Mage, would there be any problem?" Asks Alex too is calm. He knows that Blood Mages are usually frowned on by the countries… but here…
"No of course not." Answers the woman once more in a cold and emotionless voice. 'That kid… he is smart… beyond his years. So he is definitely a reincarnated person. Also by the way he speaks, it is most likely in the not far away past in which he died. He was also most likely a member of the Magic Academy and knows the way things work in here.'
Immediately she had already discovered that he was a reincarnated person. And she has already determined the time he used to live from, she will check later on in the registry to try and find who he was in his past life. When she looks at Alex, she doesn't see a six-year-old, but an old monster who most likely was a Legendary Rank monster in the past.
Though she can't help but be a little envious, Reincarnation Tokens aren't easy to find. It gives a 2nd chance at life and can start all over again.
"Anyway, what are the benefits of being acknowledged as a Hero?" Alex inquires.
"You already know them don't you?" Coily asks the Vice Principal, a smirk adorning her face.
Booom!!
Immediately Alex's mana explodes out of his body and the building starts shaking. His mana is dark red and his eyes shine with a crimson color.
"Don't mess around with me," says Alex, the woman has a nervous look on her face. She can now see that he is a Rank 3 Magician and his Mana Amount is at Rank 4 already.
'What a monster.' Concludes the woman, a six-year-old would never have something like this. The Mana was overwhelming and was almost as abundant as her own. Still, she wasn't about to be truly intimidated as dark brown Mana explodes out of her.
Alex smiles at this. "I wonder who the Headmistress would consider more important. You? Or me?"
The Vice Principal winces slightly, she knows the answer, she has barely been able to break into Rank 4, she is unlikely to reach Legendary Rank. Unlike Alex who hasn't even reached his prime and is already Rank 3 at six years old. He is pretty much guaranteed to reach Legendary Rank. Still, the woman isn't willing to step down, she knows that the Headmistress trusts her too much to just kill her.
*creak*
But then suddenly the front door opens and both Alex and the Vice Principal turn back and see Ain poking in her head. She has a scared look on her face as she says. "E -Excuse me…"
She then goes back and closes the door, the Vice Principal stops her mana output and Alex does the same. He had already accomplished his goal here, he didn't want to fight with her. He just showed her his power and insinuated that he is a reincarnated person. If it was the Headmistress he would have to be careful because she would see that he wasn't just your normal reincarnated person… and see that there is more to him. But the Vice Principal changes almost every decade, it's nothing too important.
He knows that by now the Headmistress would likely sacrifice the rest of the Magic Academy for him now. After all, he, a six-year-old, just reached 3rd Rank, which means that he is more talented than the Human Emperor in the past who only reached 3rd Rank when he was around fifteen years old. That also means that Alex might be the one to show her the road to go past the Legendary Rank…
"A personal mansion, ten million gold a year, any book on any type of magic you want… even the forbidden ones. Also, you get as many humans or other creatures to experiment on." States the Vice Principal, now back to being calm. "Those are some of the rewards for being known as a Hero. We will also fabricate some stories and make you a 'real' hero of the people."
Alex nods at that, no longer caring about the useless quarrel he had. Neither of them cares, they are creatures of intelligence, they can easily be the best of friends and the next day stab each other in the back. Hate and anger are useless now, so they no longer have any enmity towards each other.
"Okay, I will take it." Says Alex, knowing that he could have asked for more. He isn't your everyday Hero but these benefits aren't exactly free. 'I will need to reach Legendary Rank before twenty.' Contemplates Alex, as even with the system, taking that next step becomes hard. Just Exp isn't enough to do the breakthrough.'
"Thank you for your hospitality Vice-Principal Bella," says Alex as he slightly bows respectfully.
Bella smiles at that. 'This little bastard made some research on me. I never told him my name.'
Alex looks up at her and smirks seeing the look in her eyes. Both of them had the same thoughts in their minds as they locked eyes. 'Let's be useful to each other before we decide that it's more beneficial to stab each other in the back.'
...
Alex turns around and walks out. He sees Ain waiting by the door nervously, she has a worried look on her face. She did just sense Alex and Bella release their Mana.
"Don't worry," reassures Alex. "We were just playing around."
Ain seems unconvinced but she still nods at that.
"Anyway, I am going home now. We will go on a Quest together this week. I owe you one." Says Alex, with a smile on his face. Now that he was at an acceptable power range he can get some things that are close to the Magic Academy that will help him immensely.
Ain just nods at that and nervously enters the office to meet with the Vice Principal about the benefits that she will get by bringing Alex to the Headmistress's attention.
…
As soon as she enters the room Ain's nervous posture changes, she straightens her back and the nervous look on her face changes into a confident one.
"He is quite amazing isn't he." Says Ain as her body slowly starts changing, her hair changes from brown to silver and it extends up to her lower back, her chest becomes bigger and her white mage robe around her chest loosens to make room. She gets taller and curves start appearing on her body as her brown eyes turn blue. She went from a plain looking girl into an incomparable beauty.
"Don't you think so Bella?" Asks the woman with a confident look on her face. She doesn't even seem to be paying attention to Vice Principal Bella and has a smirk on her face, a dangerous light in her eyes.
"Y -Yes…" Answers Bella nervously. "Headmistress…"
