Sky, Lance, and Chrysler gathered in the dining room to talk about the events that had transpired.
"So... What do we know so far?" Lance said.
"Well she showed up covered in blood and said that my uncle, Taffer's brother took over the pack with some rogues. We also know that he either killed a lot of the males in the pack or we have to work on our loyalty issues."
Even though Sky had only known them for 2 days, their loss still hit him hard. They were his parents after all.
Lance chuckled, "If I know anything about the pack, it's that they were loyal. I'm willing to bet that they didn't kill all the wolves that resisted, or they would simply have the land, not the pack. They probably put them to work building something or they're in the pack jail."
"Mind if I add my opinion?" Chrysler asked, "You two, no matter how much you think you are, are not ready to take on a large group of rogues. They would tear you apart without shifting a hair on their bodies. From what I remember reading about werewolves, rogues are packless, and much more violence prone. I could arrange for you to go to a pack near the territory and ask another pack for help." He suggested, sounding sagely from his wheel chair.
A medical fae stuck his head in the door, "The patient is awake. She asked to see you all."
"Lets call this meeting adjourned for now." said Sky going to the medical wing to see the patient.
When Sky shoved the door open he noticed the woman sitting on a bed with her knees brought up to her bosom. Her head snapped to the door, she let out a breath of relief when she saw who it was.
"You doing all right?" Sky asked her, now standing next to her bed.
"I'm doing alright. What are you going to do with me?" She asked, not moving from her spot.
"We're not going to do anything to you that you don't want us to do. We were planning on going to a neighboring pack to get reinforcements to take down Micheal." Sky realized that he didn't know her name so he asked her.
"Marybeth, but everyone calls me Mary or M for short. I'll go with you to get reinforcements. I know someone from that pack. My brother is the alpha of that pack." M said, getting up, "Thank you for helping me by the way."
The transport that Chrysler had arranged for them was a little carriage with a humanoid figure driving. "This is Bob. He's going to be driving you to the pack grounds." Chrysler explained. Bob waved to the group.
Chrysler let the group off with a quick goodbye and made the boys promise to come back after this was all over.
Sky, M, and Lance had a very awkward ride over to the pack grounds. Sky and Lance's emotions were going crazy due to their proximity leading M to be confused about the growing tensions.
Sky and Lance started to speak at the same time with both of them getting flustered about the overlap.
"You go first," Sky offered.
"No, you go first,"
"I have a couple of questions, would you be willing to answer them?" Lance nodded, "What are you planning to do after we get the pack back?"
"I guess I'll try to find my mate and settle down in a quiet little spot, maybe adopt a few children."
"Why adopt?" M asked.
"Well, um, I don't want a relationship with a woman, I don't swing that way. I prefer men." Lance explained.
"Ah" M replied, "Now I know." They shrugged.
Sky interrupted the conversation, "Glad to know that you feel the same but do you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"Exactly" Sky said, "Something's off."
Thunk.
thud.
"What was that?" M whispered so lowly that the other two could barely hear them.
The carriage door creaked open, revealing a large, dark silhouette. The group could see red on the ground behind it.
It fell forward onto the ground of the carriage with a thunk. Bob stood behind it with a hatchet in his hand.
"We should hurry to the pack grounds" Bob said.
The group walked out and saw two bodies on the ground add the one in the carriage made three.
"They know something's up." Sky said, "We need to get where we're going. Now."
The two wolves of the group went behind some trees to shift into their wolf forms.
Lance had to mentally reprimand himself to not follow Sky.
Two animals stalked out of the bush on all fours. Lance could tell that the bigger one was Sky. M's fur was pure black making her invisible in the night.
The large one went up to Lance and nuzzled his hand.
The fae simply ran his hands through Sky's thick fur.
A wolfy chuckle could be heard from M who was standing near Bob who also had a grin on his face.
Lance rode on Sky's back and Bob rode on M's back.
The motley group arrived at the pack grounds just as the sun was setting.
A group of men met them as they entered, "Who are you to be entering these lands?" a powerful looking man asked, the man looked similar to M.
M went behind a tree and walked out fully dressed, "Hello brother, it's been a little while."
The man got a large smile on his face, "M! It has been too long little sister, and who are these people that you travel with?"
"That's a long story, and one I'll tell you when I feel a little bit safer." M explained, "Now why don't we go talk at the pack house."
As the motley group walked into the pack house they got a couple of odd looks. A fae, two unknown werewolves, and an undying.
The alpha's office was simple, dark gray walls and mahogany desk in the middle.
M's brother sat down in the chair and started asking questions, "My name is Gabriel." He explained first, "I want to know why you guys are here and who those three are."
Sky answered for all of them, "I'm Taffer and Kirsty's biological son, Lance here is their changeling son, and Bob is an undying from Lance's biological father."
"Thanks for letting me know, but why are you guys actually here?"
"My uncle attacked the pack and killed Taffer and Kirsty. So we're here to ask for reinforcements. We would humbly request your help in taking back the pack lands. If you agree and lend us support, we will forever be in your debt."
