'Where are we going?' was the thought on Sky's mind.
Chrysler knowing Sky would ask, "We're going to find that healer, if it kills us or not."
Sky nodded and set Lane down to go pack.
Sky packed and packed, he packed sweatshirts, t-shirts, shorts, sweatpants, everything one could possibly need to scale a mountain.
When Sky walked out with his packed bag he was met with a surprising sight, Chrysler was standing up, out of his wheelchair!
"Chrysler! I thought you couldn't walk." he exclaimed in his bewilderment.
"I can't walk. I got one of the manor servants to help make a frame for my legs. It allows me to walk." Chrysler explained gesturing with his arms at his legs.
"That's amazing! how are we going to bring Lance with us?" Sky said.
"I thought of that as well. We have an enchanted stretcher in the emergency supplies, that should be able to bring him up the mountains." Chrysler replied to Sky's question.
Chrysler, Sky, and an unconscious Lance left the manor. The servants started to wonder if they would ever stop leaving the manor.
They travelled for a week, all the time Gabriel was accumulating Sky's pack into his own.
When Sky and Chrysler reached the base of the mountains they both looked up the mountain, looked at each other and thought, 'this is going to be fun.'
The trail was steep and icy, with rocks and roots make them trip and stumble.
Sky hit a rock particularly hard and lost his grip on the floating stretcher, making Lance slide down the mountain at an accelerating rate.
Chrysler had the quick thinking to send out a tendril of magic to stop him.
After that event they decided to have one person in the front and one in the back, both with a rope around their waist and the stretcher to stop it from moving when they didn't want it to move.
When the top was in sight, Sky let out a 'Woo-Hoo' that could be heard for miles around. Chrysler gave a wry smile at the sight.
Sky took back his celebratory 'Woo-Hoo" when they reached the top. There was nothing there. No plants, no house, not even a map saying 'you are here.'.
Chrysler put a hand on Sky's shoulder, "I think I see something on the other summit. Maybe we try there next."
"If we're going over there I'm still going to mark the fact that I was here. That I did something to at least try to help Lance. " Sky said, feeling as though he had failed.
When they reached the summit of the next peak they found nothing, just like before. Well, actually, they did find something. Sky's marker. It was exactly as they had left it on the mountain.
"What the?" Sky questioned.
"Maybe we got turned around. That has to be it. I don't see any other reasonable explanation." Chrysler said.
They tried again, and again, and again, but nothing worked. They even tried at night to see if that would help. It didn't.
The next day Sky had a theory that he explained to Chrysler.
"Somethings off, and it's not out navigation tools. There's magic afoot," Chrysler raised an eyebrow at that, "Hear me out, we went in a straight line to the other peak. Every time. It never worked, something has to be off. I have a theory that I want to test with you. You go in a straight line with a marker of sorts above your head. A fireball should do the trick, it should be easily visible from here.
Chrysler went down and sent up the fireball as a marker. As it followed him Sky could see that the path that they had followed to the other peak was indeed as straight as an arrow.
After about 30 minutes, Sky saw Chrysler's marker reach the base of the mountain. What happened when he started to climb it was what really caught Sky's attention, it vanished. Completely gone, no smoke to signify that it had caught on something. Nothing.
"I believe you might be right Sky." Chrysler's voice said from behind him. Sky jumped at his sudden appearance. "Something's not quite right here," Chrysler tapped his chin thoughtfully, "maybe it's something to do with portals. The mountain healer is known for being impossible to find. This might explain it. Lucky for you I know how to make an anchor." Sky looked at him confusedly, "A anchor will tie us to a spot in space, it'll make the portal not work." He explained.
They made it to the top in record time after Chrysler made the anchor out of his sock.
When they reached the top they saw a little cabin with smoke coming out of its chimney and candles lighting up the windows.
They walked up to the door and started knocking, "Mountain Healer! We have need of your great healing talents." Chrysler yelled, hoping to get their attention.
"Who's asking for my help?" A gruff masculine voice said from behind them.
"Would people stop appearing from behind me and scaring me?" Sky yelled in his surprise.
"Sorry. It's been a while since I've had any company. What do you need?" the healer asked. He was taller than even your average fae, his hair long and straight, going down to his knees.
"My son used his essence to protect his mate. I've put him into a coma to help slow the process but he will die if we do nothing." Chrysler explained, sounding desperate even to Sky.
Sky still didn't know what his father meant by mate.
The healer sighed, "I'll see what I can do. I don't know what I have, so don't get your hopes up." He waved them into his humble abode.
After a few minutes, the healer walked in, sat down, and let out the saddest sounding sigh Sky had ever heard, "I've got everything I need except for two ingredients. Werewolf hair to help with the healing and a rare flower on a very tall mountain about 10 miles away."
Sky stood up, "I'm a werewolf so you can use my fur. Give me a map and I'll go get the flower."
"I'll go with you Sky."
"This guy must be very important to you two if you came out all this way to find me." The healer let out a low chuckle at that, "I'll get you the map tomorrow and you can give me the fur when you get back. You'll need the warmth where you're going. I don't have a coat for you, sorry." He said to Chrysler.
"I'll be fine. Did you see me wearing a coat outside? I can manipulate my body temperature to walk anywhere." He explained.
The next morning Sky and Chrysler were served a hearty breakfast of granola, eggs, toast, pancakes, all of which was sprinkled with a powder that made it some of the healthiest food in the world.
"I'll be back," Sky promised Lance's unconscious body as he left the cabin.
All-in-all the trip only took Them 5 hours. They had run to the mountain, gotten lost on the way up and down, and ran back. As promised Sky had needed his fur for going up the mountain. Chrysler could've been in shorts and a t-shirt with how casual he was.
When they returned to the cabin the healer was waiting for them, and took the flower and instantly added it to the potion, "Just one more ingredient. Would you?"
Sky nodded and shifted offering his forearm to donate the fur.
When the fur was added the potion turned an unearthly shade of green, emitting its own light.
The group started on their way back down the mountain, Lance still unconscious because the healer had said that the recipient would have to be completely stationary for the potion to take effect.
On the way down the mountain, they encountered a problem. A mountain troll. One of the biggest, meanest, and most sadistic trolls out there.
