"… GET THOSE FUCKING MONSTERS!!!" All the aggressors yelled at once, and they followed through by chasing after the trio. The trio races off towards the walls of the city, but then a second group of humans cut them off. The second group shouted, "There they are! Get those unholy beasts!"
The second group had pitchforks, swords, axes, and torches. Henry uses [Flame Control], and manipulates the flames of the torches. Henry pulled the fire towards him, and gathered it into a ball of fire. He then struck the ground with the flame, and the fire dispersed into a wall in front of Henry. Henry then said, "Quick, into that alley!"
The trio then sprinted down into an alley to their left. They ran down the narrow passage, running towards where they think the walls are. The humans chased after them, but had trouble chasing after them in the narrow passageways. The trio of monsters burst through an exit, after nearly 5 minutes of sprinting. The trio looked around and found themselves surrounded. That was when Henry and Sheila noticed some familiar faces.
Standing before them were some of Henry's coworkers: Doc, another cook, Alexi, and manager, Elsef. Part of Sheila's team also stood there: the cat-eared girl, Tac, and the young man, Haras. Haras then said, "There they are! Damnit, where is the captain!?"
"Wait, wait! It's me, Sheila, your captain!" Sheila quickly announced.
Haras stood there baffled, he had never seen an undead talk before. This undead was also claiming it was their captain Sheila? The fuck!? Haras said, "Like hell you are! You're a damn undead!" As Haras was a paladin under Gnos, it was clear he wouldn't reason with an undead.
"… TO THE ROOFS!!!" Sheila shouted to her companions. The trio scrambled up to the roofs, and the humans followed. Henry floated away, and Eodum's hopped from roof to roof. Sheila leaped over the gaps between the houses, damaging the roofs with each landing. The humans attempted to follow, but found it much too hard to go after the stronger monsters.
The trio continued this while humans ran next to them on the grounds, shouting all the while. From the trio's now higher perspective, they found it easy to navigate to the walls. The party approached the walls, and finally reached it. That was when thought crossed their heads, how were they going to get past the wall? They overlooked this when running from the humans.
Henry could easily float over the wall, but how were Eodum and Sheila supposed to get past it? That was when a thought crossed Eodum's mind. Using its skill [Shadow Body], Eodum pulled the shadows from all around, and absorbed them into its body. Eodum began to grow in size and spikes jutted from its joints and spine. A dagger-like blade formed at the tip of Eodum's tail.
However, Eodum wouldn't stop here. The spikes on Eodum's body retracted into its body. Then Eodum cast [Gravity Anchor] on the wall. Eodum leapt from the roof, bracing itself to land feet first. Suddenly, large hooks began to form on Eodum's feet. When Eodum landed, the hooks pierced through the ground. At the moment, Eodum was only being held in place by the [Gravity Anchor], but that would change.
Eodum began walking forward, it stuck one of its legs out. Then Eodum slid it backwards, but just enough to hook its foot into the ground. Eodum repeated this process, and slowly but surely began to scale the wall. Henry and Sheila just watched Eodum, baffled. This rat must've been batshit crazy to perform a stunt like that!
Well, now that Eodum and Henry could get past the wall, all that was left was Sheila. While trying to think of a way, the group suddenly heard a noise in the distance. The three looked back and saw that some of the humans had begun to catch up. Now, it was only a matter of time until the rest were back visible once more. The three had to think fast.
At that moment, Sheila had a very, very stupid idea, but what choice did she have? Sheila then pulled out her shield and formed a second shield made of light. Sheila struck the wall with her shield, and stuck it in place. She climbed into it, and then did the same with her [Holy Shield]. She then climbed onto her [Holy Shield] and took out her tower shield. Then it was just a matter of rinse and repeat.
While climbing, the humans had caught up and started to throw whatever they had at Sheila as she climbed. Most of it missed, but even the stuff that did make it up to Sheila wouldn't hurt her at all. She kept on climbing while Henry and Eodum waited at the top. Eventually she reached the top, then it was just a matter of going down.
Going down would be a harder experience than before. Many of the humans had realized the monsters' plans, and waited outside the city walls. As the three descended, the humans stood there waiting for them. As soon as they were in reach, the humans began throwing things once more. Eodum knew they would be a problem and took care of them. Eodum jumped down and cut one of the heels of all the humans there.
With the tendons in their feet being cut, the humans lost balance and fell. Many screamed, some fainted, overall, the humans were fucking terrified. They had lost their ability to walk, so the humans crawled away in fear. They were all bleeding profoundly, and felt a sharp pain in their legs. This however, was nothing to the fear they felt while in Eodum's presence; they all felt a natural fear towards this being.
Normally, Sheila and Henry would've scolded Eodum, or have been afraid themselves. Maybe it was the hatred directed to them from the humans or maybe the fact they were monsters now, but they couldn't find it in themselves to like those humans. Eventually, Sheila finally made it down, and the three began to travel into the forest. This was the start of their legend. The rat, the fire, and the dead.
