After Lucky finished his meeting, he wasted no time and made his way home to reunite with his beloved wife. Realizing he was already late, he imagined she must have been expecting him for hours. The unexpectedly lengthy meetings had kept him occupied far longer than he had anticipated, and now it was already 7 p.m. Damn.
Inside his car, Lucky sat in the passenger seat, occupied with his phone while the driver, humming a tune, navigated through the streets. Suddenly, the driver's humming ceased, and the car came to a halt, leaving Lucky puzzled by the abrupt change in atmosphere.
Lucky couldn't quite grasp what was happening with the sudden stop of the car. The driver remained in his seat, motionless, adding to Lucky's confusion and growing unease.
"Why did you stop?" he asked, his voice tinged with concern, but received no reply from the driver, only an eerie silence hanging in the air.
"I'm speaking to you, why did you stop the car?" he asked again, his tone more urgent this time, but there was only silence in response, heightening his sense of unease.
He was about to reach out and tap the driver's shoulder when he noticed something odd unfolding around him. There was an eerie stillness enveloping everything, as if time itself had frozen. Not a single movement could be detected – not from the cars ahead, not from the pedestrians on the sidewalks. It was as if the world had paused in a surreal moment of silence and suspension and he was the only one moving.
Stepping out of his car, Lucky surveyed his surroundings with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. In every direction, the scene remained unchanged – a frozen tableau devoid of life's usual bustle. Not a single bird soared through the sky, nor did the ants scurry along the ground. Closing his eyes, he focused intently, hoping to detect even the faintest whisper of sound or hint of movement, but the silence persisted, unbroken and unsettling.
Who the hell is this ?, what the hell is happening?
"Show yourself, who the hell are you?" Lucky's voice carried a commanding edge, a clear demand for answers amidst the eerie stillness. Above, an unsettling laughter echoed through the air, mingling with the tension that hung palpably around him.
Looking up, Lucky's gaze locked onto a figure descending from the sky, draped in a slick black cloak that billowed around him. The air grew thick with black smoke as the figure landed with a soft thud, the cloak swirling in the breeze like a dark omen. As he reached up to reveal his face, the features came into view, and Lucky's recognition dawned like a chilling realization.
His piercing golden eyes gleamed with an otherworldly intensity, set within a face so strikingly chiseled it seemed almost unreal. Towering in stature, he exuded an aura of commanding presence, his shoulder-length hair partly tied in a ponytail cascading down his back, adorned with slender strands dancing in the air. With a flick of his cloak, he stood tall and regal, regarding Lucky with an enigmatic gaze before offering a greeting.
"Long time no see, Damon," he greeted, his voice carrying an unsettling undertone, adding an eerie edge to the seemingly innocuous words.
"Why are you here?" Lucky's voice cut through the air, sharp and direct, ignoring the pleasantries and getting straight to the heart of the matter.
"Oh, chill bro. I'm here to settle some scores, not to fight. But hey, if you're up for it, we can throw down. It's been quite a long time since I've thrown a punch," Ziyad replied nonchalantly, his tone laced with an air of casual confidence.
"Ziyad, cut to the chase. I don't have time for your games. So, is this your latest trick? Stopping time? How cheap," Lucky sneered, eyeing Ziyad with disdain.
"Hahahaha, you call that cheap? What about you changing your name from Damon to Dymon to hide your identity on Earth? Shouldn't I call that cheap? Well, well, I'm not here for that. I didn't even know you've upgraded; you can now resist my power of freezing you. That's nice, isn't it? All these years, you finally unlocked your last power. Bravo. But the main reason I'm here is to take care of that rat you call a human in your house."
"Changing my name is none of your concern. And what do you mean? If you so much as touch her, I'll end you. So, stay in your lane because I'm not the person you knew 500 years ago. If you dare to mess with me now, I'll make sure you regret it for eternity."
