Chapter 22 - Never Leave Me.

"Abi, who are you talking to?" Lucky asked as he walked in and dropped his car key on the nightstand.

"Umm... it.. it is one of my old friend" she lied

"Hmm, I don't think I know her because I have never seen you with any friend before," he said, picking up her phone which fell on the floor due to her being shocked, and gave it to her.

"Thanks," she muttered, her voice slightly trembling as she collected her phone. Lucky couldn't help but notice her hand was a bit shaky.

" Did I scare you" he asked

"Yeah... a little"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to," he apologized, pulling her close to him and wrapping his arms around her in a comforting hug.

" That's not a big deal, I am fine" she said resting her head on his chest

" So what were you two talking about"

" Nothing much, just some girl stuff. How was work today" she laughed it off trying to Change the topic

" Fine but boring cause you weren't with me" he complained

"I told you I should come with you, but you insisted on me staying home to rest, so it's your fault," she scolded, loosening his tie and helping him take it off, followed by his suit and shirt.

" I just wanted you to rest, I didn't know it would be this boring to not have you around"

"Hmm, go take a shower first, I've prepared dinner for you," she said, gently pushing him towards the bathroom. Suddenly, he turned around, causing her to stumble into his chest, and he enveloped her in a warm hug.

"Abi, never leave me alone, okay? It's like you're the reason why I live now. I can't imagine you being away from me. It would feel like hell, so never leave, okay?" His voice softened as he spoke, the words carrying the weight of his heart and soul. Even he didn't understand why he said that but he truly meant what he just said. Planting a gentle kiss on her forehead, he followed it with another on her lips before heading to the bathroom.

Abi didn't know why, but tears started flowing down her face as she watched him enter the bathroom and close the door. His words had struck her deeply, and she knew he wasn't joking. She couldn't bear to think about what would happen if he ever found out that their relationship had been built on lies for the past two years.

Abi whispered to herself, feeling the weight of her deception. "Oh God, I've really gone too far. I have to do what I'm here to do before I won't be able to do it again. I hope you'll forgive me, Lucky."
