Chapter 56 - Maggy's surprise

A refreshing smell entered Connor's nose, opening his eyes to a sunny room and the sounds of chatter. He awoke, sat there for a minute thinking about nothing like we all do and with a sigh, he got up to greet everyone.

Lisa was cooking some breakfast sandwiches while Maggy was helping keep the fire on. Earl on the other hand was nowhere to be seen.

"Morning Connor" Maggy waved towards Connor when he stepped out of the Cabin.

"Good morning Connor" Lisa followed after with a smile.

"Good morning, where's Earl?" Connor asked, looking around.

*Sigh* "We tried to stop him but he insisted on scouting the area" Maggy answered. "He said he'll stay in the VIP zone so he should be safe"

"I'll go check on him" Connor said and walked away, focusing on his hearing. With the upgrades to his Spirit and Dexterity, Connor's senses were extraordinary, allowing him to hear Earl's grunts and semi-silent footsteps. Not long after, he approached the man as he was looking over the wall.

"Hey Earl" Connor greeted.

"JESUS!" Earl jumped back as he aimed his gun at Connor for a second before quickly aiming down. "Don't sneak up on somebody like that kid, you scared the shit out of me!"

Connor chuckled, amused by his reaction before he joined him, looking over the wall. "You found something?" He asked.

"Yeah, see that building over there?" Earl spoke, pointing towards a large wooden building with a spacious area in front of it where tables and chairs sat. "That's the Cafeteria, we need to get there"

"Are we out of food?" Connor understood instantly and asked.

"Yeah, Lisa should be using the last of our supplies"

"Alright, we'll eat first and i'll go take a look"

"I can go too, you know" Earl said. "You can't always be the one putting yourself in danger"

"Earl, I'm better at using melee weapons while if you use your gun everything around this place will come say hi"

*Sigh* "Fine" Earl conceded.

"Since we're running out of food, I'll be going to the Cafeteria nearby to get more" Connor said, finishing the last bite of his sandwich and grabbing his weapon. Earl continued to tell them about his idea, explained what type of food to focus on and how to transport them over, which they agreed that Connor needed someone else to tag along.

"I'll go!" Maggy quickly volunteered, raising her hand.

"Maggy, no" Earl interjected. "It's dangerous and Connor might not be able to keep you safe all the time, i'll go"

"Dad, please let me go, I feel like I'm going to die of boredom stuck here" Maggy said. "I can protect myself and even if something does appear that I can't handle, I'll just hide behind the big guy over here" She smiled towards Connor.

"Maggy y…"

"Dad, stop, with how the world is changing I need to get used to doing stuff like this" Maggy said, not letting Earl speak again as she quickly stood up and jogged inside her Cabin, and soon after she came back out with a baseball bat and a jogging outfit. The yoga pants fit her well with the sports bra and T-shirt.

"What are you wearing?" Earl asked.

"I need to be able to move comfortably, this is all i could find" She said, walking towards Connor, grabbing his arm and pulling him. "We'll get going now!"

The doors to the VIP area closed. Maggy and Connor stood there looking around. "It's too quiet… Isn't it?" Maggy said.

"I killed a lot of them the other day" Connor answered her before he started walking.

"Y.. you did?" She said, jogging to catch up.

"Yeah… Don't worry about it"

"Are we going to check the Cabins on the way?" Maggy asked.

"Wouldn't that be a waste of time? I'm sure we'll find more than we need in the Cafeteria"

"Come on, let's at least check out one or two, maybe we'll find something useful" Maggy was oddly insistant, which confused Connor a bit but he chucked it up to her curiosity.

"Alright, maybe one"

They both approached a Cabin and quickly opened the door, finding their way inside. Connor looked around the living room, he didn't think he needed to secure the place as he didn't hear or smell anything. He found some clothes, jewelry and some snacks. "This should be something I guess" He muttered.

"Connor, can you get in here for a second?" Maggy called out to him from the room. Connor walked towards the open door and peeked inside, his eyes widening with what was or who was standing in front of him.

"M…Maggy" He stuttered. "What are you doing?" He asked.

Maggy stood in front of the bed, giving him a flirtatious look. She had her top off, her breasts bare as she held one of them and squeezed, easily deforming it. "Like what you see?" She said, starting to walk towards him slowly.

"I… I don…" Connor couldn't finish his sentence when she grabbed his arm, pulling him towards her.

"I've wanted to do this for a while now" She said, pushing him onto the bed. She quickly climbed on top of him, her thin yoga pants pressing against him. Connor could easily feel her warm skin through it.

"Maggy, are you sure?" He asked. He could feel his breath quickening, his body heating up and his little brother fighting to be freed. "I can't have a relationship right now" He said under heavy breaths.

"Because of Lisa?" Maggy leaned in and whispered into his ear, making her breasts rest on top of his chest.

"We broke up" Connor said. "But I mean it, Maggy.. I don't want a relationship right now, especially with the state of the world"

"Who said anything about a relationship?" Maggy chuckled. "I just need a way to release some steam" She grabbed his head gently with both hands and slowly leaned in, maybe it was her way of giving him another chance to stop this, but Connor did not move, letting her do what she wanted. That was when she landed a kiss on his lips, igniting something between them, something they might regret in the future.
