The earthquakes have not stopped in a while now. They were all weak but their meaning was huge.
Connor and Lisa had their breakfast before starting to think of their next plan. It was a simple bagel and juice they found in the Bungalow.
They were in the property of the Galaxy Hotel, in a bungalow on the farthest area inside the Hotel's property. To reach the exit and leave, they would have to pass through the Hotel itself for the fastest route, or around it for the longest.
Connor stared at the Metal Pipe in his hands and thought. 'This isn't a Sword but I just have to swing and aim only for the head… Shouldn't be too difficult'
To reach the point where they have to choose from either path, they would need to pass through this area first. There were Bungalows everywhere with decorations and paths decorated with leaves and bushes that might cover one's vision. Then, after making it out, they will have to cut through the VIP zone with the massive Bungalows and pools.
"This should be simple.." Connor said. "All we have to do is jump from one Bungalow to the other, staying out of trouble as much as possible while trying to find better weapons and food"
Lisa nodded. She couldn't do much in a fight but she was very nimble on her feet and knew how to take care of a wound, with her being a Doctor and all, although she was still in her residency.
Looking outside, the area seemed clear. Connor slowly walked out, looking left and right. When they landed and snuck into the Bungalow, it was night, which was why Connor couldn't see the incredible view. The beach was not too far away with flowers and grass nearly everywhere. The place looked like a dream. But that was not the time to admire the view.
Connor and Lisa started moving, heading towards the next Bungalow. It was a few feet away. They needed to look for more food, as their breakfast halved their supply already. After making it safely, they performed the same routine of peeking and clearing areas until they made sure the whole place was safe.
They managed to find some water with a few energy bars. It was not much but good enough. "Onto the next place!" Lisa whispered. This was their plan, simple and effective.
After a few hours of the same thing while barely avoiding a few Walkers, which were now fully responsive and walking around ion the daylight, they managed to reach the VIP area relatively unharmed, but unfortunately, the easy part was over. The VIP area was where the Hotel's most paying clients stayed. They performed events and parties all the time, which would explain the horde. There were approximately 50 Walkers or more that prompted Connor and Lisa to head back to the last Bungalow they were in.
"Alright, stay here!" Connor said after they walked inside.
"Where are you going?" Lisa asked.
"The area is swarming with those things and we can't get through.. I'm gonna need to take them out one by one.. Or find a way to make a distraction" Connor wanted to slowly kill each and everyone of those things. He wished to confirm that he's capable of receiving Soul energy from the kills just like in Gaya.
The first ones to start with and practice on were the stranglers that they encountered on their way over. Connor started walking back the same way until he saw one.
A man dressed in a waiter uniform with a black vest and white shirt underneath with a bow-tie. He had a huge chunk of his cheek bitten off as his teeth and tongue could be easily seen. His scalp was just patches of skin and blood while his skull was visible.
"This guy should be easy to take out. His skull is already damaged which will be a great help!" Connor muttered, sneaking behind him. He stood up, held his Pipe like a baseball bat and swung as hard as he could.
Blood and brain matter splattered everywhere, including Connor as his whole face and chest became a mixture of red and white goo.
"For fuck sake!" He said, using some shirt he found thrown about to wipe his face. His strike was too strong while the man's skull was already fragile, which resulted in the fireworks.
His anger did not last long as a small wave of energy flowed through him. "I knew it!" He said. With his killing intent turned on, Connor walked towards his second victim. It was a woman in a bathing suite. A bikini to be exact as every part of her body was covered in bite marks.. It did not seem like she was taken out painlessly!
Connor broke a small twig from one of the bushes and threw it. The woman's head quickly jerked towards the noise, showing her skinless face.
"Oh God!" Connor covered his mouth. He thought he had seen some shit, but this is easily categorized with the top ones. Connor felt relieved that Lisa didn't get to see this woman like this. luckily when they passed by she had her back turned.
Connor took a deep breath and moved towards her, sneaking without even a single sound. He held his bat tightly again and swung.
BAM!
The woman's head cracked. Blood flowed down her head as she fell down. But not feeling the energy wave, Connor kept swinging until he did. A comfortable sensation passed through his body when he finally stopped.
"I'm going to need a better weapon than this" Connor muttered as he looked at his now slightly bent Pipe. If only he had a Sword this would have been a hundred times easier.
BANG! BANG!
A loud couple of gunshots rang from a few meters away. Connor quickly ran behind a building and ducked, looking over.
An old man with a woman that seemed to be in her early thirties ran out from behind one of the bars as 4 Walkers followed.
"Damn it!" Connor muttered. "Again!"
The two were heading towards his direction, which prompted him to stand up and wave at them. He wasn't about to stay there and spook the man into accidently shooting him. The old man already nearly did even when Connor was a distance away. They ran towards him, quickly making their way into one of the Bungalows.
"Shh!" Connor said, peeking outside one of the windows at the agitated and aggressive Walkers as they flung their arms around crazily and grunted. "Put that gun away!" Connor said. "Are you trying to get all of them on us? Don't shoot that thing again!"
"Ok son!" The old man agreed, turning the safety on and shoving it in his hip holster. "Sorry for bringing you into this" The old man spoke. "Name Is Earl and this is Maggy" The woman nodded towards Connor. "We have been stuck in that damn bar for 2 days now and we ran out of food.. We had no choice!"
"I understand" Connor said, still looking outside the window. "We'll stay here for a bit.. Maggy right? Can you go and check if there's any food or water around?"
"Yeah!" Maggy said. She had long blond hair with beautiful green eyes and plump lips wearing a bikini underneath a sweatshirt. She was a beauty.
Earl on the other hand had a few wrinkles here and there with short blond hair and casual clothes. The gun he had was a 9mm pistol. From what Connor saw he was no amature in using it.
"You two stay here!" Connor said, walking towards the back door.
"Where are you going? You can't fight all of them by yourself!" Earl said. "We should wait a bit, maybe they'll wander by themselves!"
"That won't happen anytime soon" Connor explained. "There's someone waiting for me!"
