To say that Minos was thrilled by Taurus' recovery would be untrue. He had been hoping for his leader's expiry so he might become the High Priest of the Earth Bull and then lead a successful usurpation to become the Divine Deucalion of Aether, but alas, fate was not on his side.
As he paced in his quarters, Minos wondered if he should just try making his own destiny. That was what he intended to do when he became High Priest of the Earth Bull... If he became the High Priest of the Earth Bull. Perhaps, he was just a lesser man. A greater man such as Taurus may have been able to make his own destiny, but could a lesser man such as himself?
Pausing, Minos looked to his various belongings, many curios from foreign cultures. If Taurus were to see such things, he would have them destroyed and Minos executed. Three foreign swords, two foreign banners, a foreign religious symbol, two foreign shields, two foreign helmets, a small foreign statue, some people would call his collection junk, but to him they were his treasures. Owing treasures such as these was dangerous with Taurus as the High Priest of the Earth Bull.
With a leader such as Taurus, Minos was starting to wonder if he should just defect, perhaps leave to be a humble fisherman in some other part of the island. What did he know about fishing? Absolutely nothing, but he was certain it was safer than being second-in-command to Taurus.
"Minos!" Looking to the entrance to his quarters, Minos saw Sarpedon. "Taurus wants you!"
"W-What for?" Minos inquired.
"He didn't say." Sarpedon replied, taking a moment to gaze upon Minos' treasures. Then he made his departure, laughing to himself as he left.
