Chapter 18 - The Earth Bull's Clergy

Before the Earth Bull's statue in his chapel stood Taurus. Before him were his younger sister Pasiphae, whom he was old enough to be the paterfamilias of, Sarpedon and his own right-hand Minos, staring up at him with a fearful countenance, completely unsure of what manner of thought was behind the golden bull mask.

"I will start this meeting by saying that when the day comes for the coup to be carried out, it shall be you, Minos, who shall lead the charge. You are a pawn, nothing more, nothing less. You are all pawns, the pawns of myself and my Twin and Shadow, you are all expendable. My ascension to the throne is the main objective, everything else that I have planned can wait for when I sit atop the throne."

"My brother, how can I be a pawn to you?" Pasiphae inquired, a beautiful young woman of five and twenty whom both Minos and Sarpedon often had their eye on. Her aquiline nose, her long, luscious locks of ebony hair, her athletic body, amongst the priestesses of the Earth Bull, there was none as comely as she.

"My sister, as a woman you are only fit to bear children and the sons you bear shall be my pawns just as you are. Any niece you bear for me I will personally hurl into the sea." A troubled expression spread across the front of Pasiphae as Eithne entered the chapel. Looking to the Princess of Aether, Taurus asked: "What brings you here today, Eithne?"

"Great Taurus, Mighty Taurus, Handsome Taurus..." Eithne began. "My father has expired, any plans I had to poison Rowena at her and Falco's wedding are now pointless. The time for the coup is now."

Nodding, Taurus turned his gaze from Eithne to his right-hand. Minos needed no verbal instructions. He knew what to do. He only wondered if he would live to see the end of the day.
