Chapter 5 - LEAVING CARNIFORNIA SOON

Maths stood in front of the mirror and wondered why his face peeped so pale this morning. He has prepared for school but it seems like he's not going to attend. He stood up and went outside of his room to the sitting room. His living room was neatly arranged and decorated with pure gold and white. It was the most beautiful place in the house.

The house? Not the house, the mansion where Albert lives was one of the biggest mansions in New York City. In front of this mansion is an abbreviation SAH written clearly on it. It was built with glasses surrounding every bit of it.

The inside looks like a Lord's abode, having two stairs that lead to different quarters. The down part has a sitting room, dining expanse, the largest kitchen, a Library full of books, contains twelve rooms, a gym center by the left, and a resting cabin.

The right stairs lead to Maths quarter, referred to as the lion's den. The den where no one dares to cross except for his childhood friends and the old caretaker named Sara who has been working in the SAH mansion for the past 10 years.

Inside this den, he has his sitting room, dining room, bedroom, studio compartment, and resting cabin.

No one knows what it looks like so they wondered if it might look like a lion's den.

The left quarter was occupied by his father, Mr. Albert, his wife, and little Julie.

Mr. Albert married Julianne two years later after the death of his wife and they both had a baby girl five months later since Julianne got pregnant before they got married.

Maths hated them. Every single one of them. He hates to see their faces or hear their voices. He just couldn't bear living with them.

When he's through with college. He will never be found again. He'd sworn. He will make sure they know nothing or hear about him again.

On entering the sitting room, he saw a tiny figure sitting on his couch. He knew exactly who it was and moved closer to grab her down from his couch.

"Leave here now!." He raged at ten years old Julie.

Julie? It sounds like Julianne to him. He doesn't like that name. The name that made him lose everything.

"No." Julie disagreed and moved to sit on another couch.

"No?" He furrowed his left eyebrow looking shocked.

"Yes." The tiny voice replied.

His hatred for them grew whenever he couldn't do anything to hurt them. Yet, the tiny little thing was always getting on his nerves.

He will always meet little Julie inside his sitting room each time, every morning.

He never knew when that started but he guessed it should be when she started walking on her two feet.

Whenever she comes in, he always makes sure to send her away. But today was different. He's asking her to get out but she won't. Is she insane?

"I said leave here right now!" He raised his voice fiercely.

"I'm not interested in leaving." She reported boldly. He doesn't think he heard her right. She won't leave his den, is that what she's trying to say?

"You are not interested in leaving?" He asked again to be sure he heard her right.

"I won't leave until I decide to leave." She stayed adamant.

"Oh!" He mouthed because he heard her correctly now. He took a good look at her before calming his nerves. He didn't want any argument this morning and decided to leave her alone.

"Suit yourself." He said with anger in his voice. He picked up his car keys and left his den. He just couldn't believe what he just heard.

He got downstairs and was about to leave through the entrance when he heard someone ask a question, "Have you had your breakfast already?"

The question doesn't seem to be his so he pushed the door open to leave.

"Mathias?" He heard another muscular voice call his name and looked back to see his Dad and stepmom looking in his direction.

"Are you referring to me?" He asked, pointing a finger at himself.

"Your mom is asking if you've had your breakfast." Mr. Albert said, taking a mouthful of food from his dish, set on the dining table.

"Since when do you care if I eat or not?" He asked, referring to Julianne examining her wobbled stomach, "And when did she become my Mom?" He referred that to his Dad.

"I've always cared_"

"It's better you feed your unborn child than be a scum!" He fired harshly, snipping her word short halfway, and turned to leave, "And please tell that tiny thing to leave my den before I get back".

"That tiny thing is ten years old today." Mr. Albert revealed to him as he went out.

"No wonder she got some nerves." He thought as he entered his car and took off.

"What?!" Jane exclaimed and fling away the ice cream cup she was holding.

"Ssshhh…" Angie cautioned and used her hand to cover her mouth to avoid more sound from her, "People are watching.'

"What's going on? Why do you have to relocate?" Her best friend asked, looking terrified.

"Dad was recruited. We have no other option. You know how much he loves his job." Angie divulged, trying to give some explanation that won't work. She looked at her.

Jane's face looked like she was going to go down to the floor any time soon.

"He's not leaving with us for now. He will still be in California until he's through with college." Anne added and Jane looked up at her after hearing her statement.

"Really?! Ben won't be going with you guys?" She asked again, her eyes widening with joy.

Angie stared at her, shocked at her outburst. She thought Jane was happy Ben wouldn't leave with them.

"Won't you miss me? Why are you happy that he is not coming with us?" Angie returned my question harshly.

"I'm sorry." She replied, giving Angie a puppy look.

Angie huffed away. "Remember I'll be gone for long or forever, besides Ben will be joining us soon."

"I know." She replied, sadly. "I will miss you a lot, you know that baby."

"Don't baby me please, I'm so disappointed. How could you love my brother so much and I'm left out?" Angie uttered bitterly.

"I'm sorry, It's not what you're thinking dear." She pleaded and took her hands but Angie flung them away and crossed them over my chest.

Angie gave her a hard stare as she forcefully pulled her hands back and patted them.

"What a life!" She thought.
