(The doors of the birthing chamber burst open)
"How's my Rose? Twelve hours of labor, is she okay? How is the baby?"
"Calm down, your majesty. The baby and the queen are both okay. The queen is resting. However, your son, though, is quite energetic."
"Thank you, Erin. What did my wife name him?"
"Rainer, your majesty."
"Erin, stop it with the 'your majesty crap' you helped bring me into this world. Just call me Eronal; how many times do I have to tell you? Get some rest; I am sure you are tired."
(Erin walks towards the exit and opens the door. Just before it closes.)
"Yes, your majesty."
(the door latches)

'Insufferable woman'
(The king looks down at the crib lovingly)
"Rainer, a good name."
(In the crib, Rainer is looking up)
'Eronal, what kinda name is that? Definitely not earth. Oh well, he's not too bad; it looks like I have decent genes.'
(The door opens, and several children walk in)
"Father, how is mother? Do I have a little sister?"
"No, Sophia, a little brother, and your mother are resting. So do not disturb her."
(Ekrick thought to himself)
'Another useless boy. At least sisters can be sent out of the kingdom to marry, and they aren't too bad to look at either. What's even the point of having other children when I am already perfect.'
(Seraphine thought to herself)
'I hope he doesn't follow after that, Ekrick, like the other one. He's such a prick.'
(Roneld thought to himself)
'A litter brother, now I will have a subordinate under me, just like boss Ekrick.'
(Sophia thought to herself)
'He looks funny, hehe. I wonder what he will be like?'
(Ekrick turned to his father)
"What's its name?'
"'His' name is Rainer."
'What am I going to do with that boy? No matter how I try to take that golden spoon out of his ass, his 'friends' shove it back up there.'
"Okay, father. Well, I will return to my magic studies; congratulate mother for me; at least 'it' isn't ugly."
(Rainer thought to Himself)
'God, what a that prick. Wait, did he say magic?'
(Ekrick left the room, followed by Roneld)
"Father, that brother of ours is rotten and is spoiling Roneld. He thinks he is perfect just because his teachers praise him because he will be the next king. The teacher says he isn't even that good at magic. I don't get it."
"Seraphine, hush. He is a wilful child; he'll grow out of it."
'They did say magic. That's exciting, but it seems like 'dad' is in denial. That is a particular kind of asshole that seldom changes. Also, they are not speaking English; weirdly, I seem to be able to understand them.'
Rainer didn't know that all the royal family wore communication amulets so they could easily understand foreign dignitaries. They would take whatever was spoken and convey it into thoughts, and others would hear the words that those thoughts represented. The odd part was a baby understood the thoughts of adults at all.
'Well, I am hungry. How am I supposed to communicate that? Well, I guess I am a baby."
"Waaahh waahhh!"
"Seraphine, fetch the wet nurse. I am guessing he is hungry."
Seraphine fetched the wet nurse and left the smiling baby suckling her bosom with an odd happiness in his eyes.
'Holy Shit, are all the women in this kingdom stunners. I could get...'

Rainer became tired and then went to sleep, ashamed of what at aspired moments before. The wet nurse cleaned herself and Rainer up and put him back to sleep.
