Layla is on her way to work when she comes across one of Nicole's classmates with four huge boys and recognizes her,
" Hold on... isn't this the girl who was flirting with me the other day? Wonder what she could be doing with those boys" Layla walks to them and asks if everything is ok. When the boys try to hide the truth,the girl tells Layla that they're bullies. When Layla asks the boy to leave the girl alone,they tease and underestimate her.When they touch the girl again, Layla grabs one of the boys' collar and slaps him on the neck. The other boy comes to attack Layla but she kicks him in the stomach he falls to the ground. She further manages to to flog all of them with her belt and they run away. The girl is happy that David saved her and out of excitement she hugs him but when she reaches for a kiss he pushes away and offers to drop her off to school. At the underground meeting,Max assigns Alex and two other men to attack Liam Grayson when one of their spies informs them of his next move. Max and Alex try to reach Layla to tell her of their next attack but she doesn't pick the call. Layla reaches the Grayson mansion she sees their missed calls so she calls them back. Alex answers and explains their mission but Layla declines with an excuse that she has extra classes so Alexander understands. Now Layla has to come up with a way of protecting her boss even though she is part of the gang. When they leave the house, David suggests that they take another road saying it's a shortcut and Liam believes David by letting him have his way. However,when they reach halfway they are blocked by a black car and this worries both Liam and David.
" Oh no. How did Alex and the guys know that I was going to use this road" Layla wonders.
Liam asks David if he has any idea what's going on. David asks Liam to stay inside as he goes out to check what's going on. David steps out of the car and confronts the men,
" Listen here...my boss and I are going somewhere very important so please kindly move your car out of the way"
Seeing that the men are not listening or reasoning with David,Liam steps out of the car to see if he can handle things himself.
" What's going on here? Didn't my driver tell you to move out of the way?!" Liam becomes aggressive.
One of the masked men brings out a pistol and points it at David asking him to move out of the way or he shoots. David quickly grabs the gun from the man who is Alexander.
" How did he grab the gun from me that fast? Only Layla knows if this trick" Alexander gets mixed thoughts about the man but rushes to attack David but he dodges the punch and pushes Alexander away.
" Oh gosh, how do I avoid hitting my own friends" Before Layla can finish figuring out what to do to get them to leave, the other two attempt to attack her but she bangs their heads against one other so hard they fall to the ground.
" Listen you better leave this place or I'll hurt all of you so badly!" David warns the two men laying on the ground.
While David is distracted, Alexander takes a hockey stick from the back of the car and attempts to hit Liam who is helping David put the two men down but David sees him just in time and takes the blow but luckily she is only hit on the back. Alexander hits David so hard that the stick breaks in half. This upsets Liam so he attempts to fight Alexander but fails to pull him down because he's stronger. The other man picks up the gun and aims it at Liam but David takes the shot in the arm. Knowing that the guys won't let Liam be, David luckily picks up a huge stick and she flogs the men to an extent where they can't take it so they drive away. Because he is losing so much blood, David gets weak and falls to the ground. Liam despite he's terrible attitude helps David get into the car. And since they're not far from the house, Liam drives back. He reaches the house and all the family members come out because they weren't expecting Liam to come back so soon.
When Liam steps out of the car, Wendy sees this chance to criticize David by calling him careless, "look at that! Instead of David driving our dear Liam us stressing himself I knew this guy was useless"
However, Wendy gets the shock of her life when Liam scolds for being inconsiderate and defends David for the first time,
" Just keep quiet aunt! You talk too much, can't you at least ask what's going on before you open your mouth and speak?!"
Wendy feels embarrassed and keeps quiet while everyone stands there wondering why Liam was being rude. Liam brings David out of the car and everyone is shocked to see his shirt covered in blood. Jake asks Mariah to call the family doctor. Liam helps David go to the guest room and helps him seat on the bed. Ten minutes after, the doctor arrives and he is brought into the guest room. Liam tries to help David take his shirt off so the doctor can treat his wound but as he makes an attempt, David stops him in a rush,
" No sir!"
" What's wrong David? Don't you want me to help?" Liam asks him calmly and in a concerned way.
Martha is now wondering why her cousin is being so nice to someone he hated just some hours ago. Jake insists that David let Liam help take his shirt off but he still refuses.
" Oh Lord help me. Now what excuse will come up with? If I let Liam take my shirt off then I'll be exposed for sure and I can't afford to lose this good paying job" Layla is lost in thinking.
Liam calls David and he snaps out of his thinking. Liam asks once again if David will let him take the shirt off or if he'll do it himself. David says he'll do it. David slowly starts to take his shirt off and a lot of thoughts start going on in Mariah and Charlotte's head. They both start imagining seeing his six pack abs and mascular body.
" Oh no what do I do? This is your end Layla you better act fast" Layla says to herself.
David takes his shirt off only halfway. When Martha sees his abs, even she melts and starts daydreaming,
" Oh wow,I must say this David guy really does have a dream body. Now am wishing he can be mine"
At this time David poses and pulls his shirt down. Making the three ladies snap out of their imagination. When Liam asks what the problem is,
" If it's not too much to ask,may all of you please leave am feeling shy" David responds.
Liam smiles and asks the ladies to leave but David is quick to kindly ask Liam and Jake to excuse him. The doctor treats and covers David's wound. When he steps out of the room,the doctor almost reveals that David is female but he interrupts by thanking the doctor who has no other choice than to leave. Wendy is however suspicious and wonders what the doctor was about to say. Liam turns to David and thanks him endlessly for saving his life. When Mariah asks Liam to explain what changed his opinion about David,he explains how David put his life on the line to save his. The Grayson family except of course Martha and Wendy. This makes Mariah and Charlotte admire David even more. Liam taps his hand on David's shoulder and tells him,
"You my friend have earned my trust"
Wendy is upset with the fact that Liam is starting to get along and accept David. Because the doctor has asked David to rest,Liam asks him to go home and rest. When Layla gets to the doorstep,she starts wondering how she will hide her injured arm from her family and friends. She decides to cover her arm with her jacket when she enters the house so that no one will notice. Layla tries to sneak up to her room but she meets Grandma Stella who calls Coco despite Layla asking her not to,
" Hey Coco!" She shouts, " Layla is back home so soon!"
Coco comes to the living room and finds Layla and Stella standing there and questions her granddaughter about coming back home early,
" Why have you come back home so early Layla? Don't tell me you got fired!" Coco starts getting mad.
" No no granny that's not it" Layla rushes to come Coco down, " I was just having a slight headache so I took a day off and that's it"
Aunt Zoe walks to Layla to embrace her From the injured arm, " oh sweetheart that's bad but I'll give you a head massage and you'll feel better"
Before Layla could be exposed, Nicole and Jade walk in and Layla runs to them,
" Look, my favorite sisters are here" She puts on a suspicious smile.
The elders are surprised to see Jade come back early so they ask.
" Well Nicole used her teachers phone to tell me that the person who was supposed to pick her wasn't answering" Jade looks at Layla who makes an excuse of her phone battery dying.
She then remembers that she dropped her phone at the fighting scene and this scares her,
" If the police or Max asks the men to search out the place then I'll be caught for sure"
Nicole goes close to Layla and whispers to her questioning about why she came back soon. Layla whispers back and tells her, " we'll talk about that in the room and not here"
Jade is suspicious of the chattering and whispering. And on top of that, she sees what looks like a bandage on Layla's arm. Knowing fully well that Layla will trick her if asked about the bandage, Jade walks to her uninformed and takes the jacket off. Everyone is shocked at what they see.
Coco rushes to check on her granddaughter, " oh my dear" She exclaims, " are you okay? Are you hurt in anyway? Tell me who did this to you and I'll make them pay"
Layla and Jade look at each other eye to eye. And thoughts start going through Layla's mind, " ever since she became a police inspector she thinks she has become smart but I'll cut her little wings because no one beats me at my own game"
Jade looks at Layla with a smile on the face and tells her she knows what is going through her head therefore asking her to tell the truth. Layla calls Jade a dull police inspector and this sparks a little argument between the two until Coco intervenes and asks for an explanation from Layla.
" Well granny" Layla starts to explain, " I was teaching my students when all of a sudden some robbers attacked us and in an attempt to save one of my students I got shot. I hid it from you because I didn't want to worry you all" She puts on a cute, believable and innocent face.
When Coco hugs to console her, Layla mocks Jade who gets angry and decides to outsmart Layla by suggesting that they call Alexander and Max, shocking Layla. When Max and Alexander come to the house,Jade explains what's going on and asks Max if it's true.
" Well it ought to be true because we've not been together the whole day" Max tells the truth with Alexander seconding it.
At this moment Coco believes her granddaughter. Max, Jade and Alex however don't find this to be believably true. When everyone quiets down, Layla decides to make her move.
" You know as I was coming home I came across this place near the Junction where I saw a broken hockey stick and and another huge stick covered in blood. I asked the nearby residents and they told me a crime had just occurred and that the famous actor Liam Grayson almost lost his life "
This story starts to make Alexander and Max feel a bit insecure so they fail to look Layla in the eyes. Zoe asks Layla what step she took and she says,
" You am fearless aunty. I went to check it out and to see if there was anyone in the bushes and I think that's where I dropped my phone"
Coco suggest that Layla let Jade go and search her phone for her but Jade refuses so Alexander volunteers to assist her.
When they get to the crime scene, Alexander and Layla start to look for the phone and after five minutes of looking they find it.
" Alright Layla" Alexander is relieved, " Now that we found your phone, can I at least please spend some quality time with my best friend? It's been so long" He squeezes her cheeks in a loving way.
Layla smiles and agrees to go with him. They go to a nearby restaurant where Alexander orders all of his and Layla's favorite food.
" Oh goodness Alex!" Layla chuckles, " Do you want to make me gain weight in a day uh? But I've not had these in a long so what harm can it do?"
They laugh and eat together. When they're done,they take a walk in the park. As they are strolling, Alexander asks Layla if she is hiding anything from him. Layla places her hand on Alex's shoulder, gives him an assuring smile and tells him she's not hiding anything so they continue. They see an ice cream truck and they rush to get some. After a whole day of fun, Alex takes his friend back home and goes home as well. Layla enters the house and finds Max. After being asked what he's doing there,he says he came to see how she's doing but didn't find her so Jade decided to keep him company. He later leaves the house. Jade corners Layla by asking what she's hiding from everyone. To shut Jade, Layla also asks an unlikely question,
" What of you, what are you hiding? Your feelings for sir Max!"
Jade gasps at the questions and chases Layla all the way to the room where she locks herself inside.
