Chapter 8 - No Matter Where You Run To, I...Will Find You

"Which is?" Lisa gazed at her in curiosity, and a soft smile emerged on Diana's face.

"She said something about the job benefiting me in three different ways. Meaning, money isn't the only benefit." She explained, and Lisa's face altered in a bit of confusion.

"So... what are the other two benefits?" She asked, and Diana shrugged.

"Protection against my father. The other one, she didn't say cause everything will be revealed, if I accept the offer." She clarified, and Lisa slowly nodded her head.

"I see. Well, I won't stop you from accepting it if you want to. But, I will tell you carefully think it over because this job could either be good or dangerous. It's your choice."

She got up from the sofa and walked towards the fridge, then grabbed a bottle of soda and made her way to her room.

A long, deep breath exited Diana's nose and she also stood up from the couch.

She strolled into the guest room and shut the door behind her, then jumped into the bed and shut her eyes.

"Till tomorrow."

_______

A black Lamborghini arrived at a large, luxurious white mansion, and the gate opened automatically for it.

The driver who was Delarcy drove the car inside and smoothly parked it in the parking lot.

She stepped down from the car and shut the door afterward, then locked it and began to enter the mansion.

The bodyguards standing at the huge door pulled it open and, without sparing them a glance, she strode inside and made her way towards the vast white living room.

She glanced at the sofa and her brows instantly puckered on seeing a woman dressed in a leather suit, just like her, seated on the cream-colored couch with her legs crossed.

"You're finally back." The woman uttered and turned her head to look at Delarcy.

Delarcy rolled her eyes and walked to the couch opposite the woman.

She sat down and rested back on the sofa then crossed her legs.

"What is your concern, Jisoo?" She asked, and Jisoo chuckled softly.

"Oh, I was just worried because I heard you tried to get another heartbreaker. Haha." She broke out into laughter, and Delarcy raised her head to look at her.

"So? How is that any of your business? Why the hell are you so fucking nosy? Do you think I am doing some stupid competition with you? If you so much want to get on Her Lady's good side, then how about you please her, bitch!"

She scowled with annoyance evident on her face, and Jisoo arched her brow at her.

"No need to get so mad. I am simply worried, that's all. Besides, I don't need to get on Her Lady's good side because I already am. You're the one who should try to get on her good side to avoid getting kicked out because if you do, you know what will happen. HAHAHA."

Jisoo laughed loudly and uncrossed her legs.

She stood up from the couch and adjusted her suit, then, with a flip of her ponytail brown hair, she walked away from the living room and began to make her way up the stairs.

Delarcy glanced at her disappearing back, and her face clenched tightly in sudden anger.

She looked at a unique silver bracelet clasped around her wrist, and her heart instantly skipped a bit.

She quickly shut her eyes and took continuous deep breaths, and finally, when she felt herself calm down, she opened her eyes.

"It will be fine. Nothing is going to go wrong." She said to herself and threw her head back on the couch.

_______

Jones glimpsed his wristwatch and his face darkened on seeing that it was already 1 p.m.

He pinched between his brows and ordered the rest of the bodyguards searching with him, to return back to the mansion.

They stepped into the car and drove off down the road, towards the Ferguson mansion.

They arrived back in two hours and the security at the gate pulled the door open for them.

The driver drove inside and parked in the parking lot.

Jones stepped down from the car and inhaled, then exhaled deeply to calm his rapidly beating heart.

He raised his head and proceeded towards the mansion.

The bodyguards pushed the door open for him, and he strode inside, only to jolt back in deep surprise.

Seated on the sofa, Mr. Ferguson slowly turned his head on noticing him and arched his brow at him.

"You're back." He said, and Jones straightened up immediately. "Yes, boss."

"How did it go? Did you find her? " He asked, and instant nervousness took over Jones.

Cold sweat dripped from his forehead, and he anxiously cleared his throat.

"Uh, boss-"

He immediately went silent when he saw Mr. Ferguson stand up from the sofa and begin to walk towards him.

"Bo-boss-" He had yet to finish his sentence when a backhand slap from Mr. Ferguson landed on his cheek, causing his cheek to instantly turn deep red.

"You didn't find her, did you?" Mr. Ferguson asked, and Jones slowly shook his head.

"No, boss." He replied, and Mr. Ferguson grabbed him harshly by the chin, then forced him to look at him.

"And why is that? Didn't I tell you not to come back until you found her?" He arched his brow in a questioning manner and Jones swallowed hard.

"Yo-you did." Jones stuttered, and Mr. Ferguson's grip on his chin became even tighter.

"And where is she?" He asked, and Jones shut his eyes as he felt his chin hurting badly.

"We-we couldn't find her, boss. We have searched throughout the whole day, but-"

Mr. Ferguson's face clenched even more tightly in anger, and he angrily let go of his chin, then slapped him one more time.

"You know how much I hate negative answers, don't you?! Get out of this mansion and go find her. If you step your filthy feet into this building without her, I will end your miserable existence."

He threatened with a grin on his face, and Jones vigorously nodded his head.

He quickly turned around and rushed out of the mansion, towards the car.

A sinister smile emerged on Mr. Ferguson's face, and he vehemently narrowed his eyes.

"No matter where you run to, I...will find you."
