"Um... his name sounds really familiar to me, but I just can't recall him." Diana shook her head, and Lisa face palmed herself.
"I can't believe this." She shook her head and grabbed her phone from the mini table.
She quickly searched through the web and handed the phone over to Diana.
Diana received the phone from her and gazed at the photo on the screen.
"That's him. Now tell me you've never heard of him!" Lisa folded her arms and Diana slowly stood up from the couch.
She looked intently at the photo and abruptly chuckled softly. "He is really beautiful!" She complimented, and Lisa tiredly pinched between her brows.
"Diana, do you remember him or not?" She asked, and Diana scratched her head, trying to recall.
"Well... Like I said before, I can't. But his name sounds familiar." She replied, and completely shocked, Lisa stood up from the sofa and walked towards her.
She lifted her hand and tenderly touched her forehead. "Diana, do you have a fever? Or did you lose your memory?"
She asked in absolute skepticism, and Diana drew her head back in confusion.
"What do you mean?" she inquired, and Lisa took a deep breath to calm herself down.
"So you really don't remember someone whom we discussed and even fantasized over just before all these things suddenly happened?!"
She questioned, and with a confused expression still visible on her face, Diana slowly shook her head.
"Lisa, I really don't remember. The name just sounds familiar to me, that's all." She replied, and Lisa's eyes narrowed into a thin line.
"Hmmm... this is very weird. Could you have lost some of your memories that day you fainted?" She looked at Diana with an arched brow, and Diana darted her eyes around.
"I don't think so. I still remember every-"
"Never mind! Nevermind! Forget it!" Lisa shushed her up and proceeded to explain it to her.
"See, Mr. Vicenzo is the wealthiest and the most dangerous man in the whole world. He is rumored to be incapable of loving any woman because, out of the hundreds of women he had been with, none had ever caught his eyes. It's like women don't move him at all."
"Then is he gay or something?" Diana arched her brows, and Lisa flicked her forehead.
"No, he's not! He just... has never fallen in love with a woman before. He only just sleeps around with them, and that's all. They are just there for his pleasure, nothing more than that."
She explained, and now suddenly realizing how difficult her task might be, Diana bit her lower lip.
How could they seriously assign her to such a man?
And how cold-hearted must this guy be to have never fallen in love with a woman?
Even the top beauties that she can never match up to are unable to move his heart, so what makes it possible that she can?
A deep sigh exited her nose and she raised her head to look at Lisa.
"This might not be so easy," she said, and Lisa chuckled softly.
"Of course it won't. This is still just people talking. I wonder how cold he will be when you finally meet him in real life."
Lisa shook her body at the thought of it, and Diana glared at her before turning around to leave the apartment.
"Hey, where are you going?" Lisa grabbed her by the arm and turned her around.
"Home. I need to get some personal things from there before leaving." She replied, and Lisa raised her brows in confusion.
"Leave to where?" She asked, and a low breath fled Diana's nose.
"New York, That's where my task is. And yeah, you should pack too. I am taking you along with me to make sure you're safe. I can't leave you here with the situation I am in with my-"
She had yet to finish her sentence when Lisa hurriedly pulled her into a hug and embraced her tightly.
"I'm so glad you're not abandoning me." She said in a gentle tone and quite confused, Diana's face puckered.
"Huh, what do you mean? Why would I... abandon you?" she asked, and Lisa drew back from the hug to look at her.
"Well... I have been sad since yesterday, if you noticed, because I thought that once you accepted the job, you would... leave and I may never get to see you again."
She explained, and a smile slowly formed on Diana's face.
"Seriously? You know that would never happen. "You're my best friend, and I will never leave you"
She smiled widely at her and turned around to leave, but Lisa pulled her back.
"Diana, you can't go back there. What if you get caught?" She asked, and Diana chuckled softly.
"Don't worry, I will be fine. Nothing will happen to me." She smiled and snatched her hand back, then proceeded out of the apartment.
She flagged down a taxi, and it drove her off towards home.
....
The taxi finally arrived near her destination, and she stepped down.
She paid the driver and began to walk towards the Ferguson mansion, which, to her surprise, wasn't heavily guarded like it used to be.
Her brows furrowed in a bit of suspicion, and she proceeded towards the backyard to follow through and enter the building.
She arrived at the small door at the back and turned its handle, but as unfortunate as she was, it turned out to be locked.
A helpless breath exited her nose and she glanced at the not-so-high fence.
"Well..." She shrugged and moved back, ready to climb it.
