Hands up!" Danielle shouted pointing the gun straight at Enrique after snatching it off Rogue's holsters like a pro pocket picker. Enrique's face imminently grew pale as all the sunlight peeking in through the glass windows dyed his face into its golden color reflecting his fear.
'The heck! What is she doing!?' he thought. Enrique proceeded towards her after dealing with Rogue, who started acting like a dumb even after working well for so many years.
It was now Danielle's turn to have her share of punishment. That guard undoubtedly had been penalized unfairly. But, she would deserve every bit of it of whatever he had planned to do with her.
Nevertheless, Daniele caught him off guard and pointed that gun at him. She had lost all hopes until her orbs caught sight of a glint glistening in the holster tied around his waist.
'A gun!' she snapped onto his holster the moment she realized what it was. The perfect opportunity to get away from not only him but this cage.
Enrique shot a blazing gaze at her which sent chilly vibes down her spine and caused a terrible shiver to her hands. The gun for a quick instant was about to fall off her hands but she managed to grasp tightly onto it.
Even his mere glare was enough to make her drop that gun. How dare she think she could get away from him that easily?
However, she was persistent to not kneel down nor give up on her intentions.
On the other hand, Enrique's eyes could not miss that weakness her hands showed.
"Huh…" he huffed inwardly when he saw the gun tumbling in her hands.
'What a foolish girl!' he sneered realizing she didn't even hold the gun correctly, what harm she could cause him.
"Drop that gun, baby girl!" A victorious smirk played across his lips, which formed creases of concern on her forehead.
"What made him so confident all of a sudden!?" Danielle pondered.
"Stay away from me!" She warned him in her quivering tone, as he attempted to move forward towards her.
"Ahaa… and… what will you do, if I don't!?" Enrique asked confidently, carefully taking a step further.
"I…I will shoot.!" Mustering up the courage she tried to shoot a glance into his eyes. Which was definitely not a good idea. The moment she looked in the mirrors jutted in his eyes, she saw a terrible vision of herself, quivering to her cores, yet composing her every bit to stay strong, and defiant.
'I have to get away at all costs!' she reminded herself. It was like a 'do or die' situation. Either she had to shoot him right away if he tried to come closer to her or spend the rest of her life being his slave, or beloved pet. Which she couldn't afford at any cost.
Enrique's obstinate walk worried her so much that her hands began to slip around the gun because of the sweat her body began to produce due to hypertension. Her pulse was nerving faster than the horse's run, thudding, crushing, and trembling. Each step he was taking further, caused her body to stiff like a rock, yet her grip was softened around the gun which was shaking her existence.
"No! She could not be weak!"
"Be strong!"
Be like the fa Mulan!
Be like Cleopatra!
And be like every female warrior that ever existed on this planet!
Be bold and strong, Danielle!
She motivated herself, and tilted her head a bit up to grasp a mouthful of air to fill her lungs enough to charge them to fight till the end. She had only one aim now and that was to escape from this cage. She didn't care even if she had to sacrifice her own life for this sake. Nothing matters now. Moreover, she would consider it as a bonus if she would be able to take his life along with her freedom on her way out of this house.
She would be able to walk freely, with her chest growing a few inches over with the pride that she had succeeded in lodging a heavy weight off from this planet by killing this monster. She would be able to satisfy her ego with his blood on her hands for all the humiliation he had brought to her from buying her to till moment.
A wave of air fused with raw enthusiasm blew over her and all of a sudden her grip tightened around the gun. She noticed his careful procession towards her when she shouted a final warning at him before a deafening noise occupied the hall and made sure no other voice could be heard after that.
After a while, another thudding sound crashed the silence around the hall, the gun dropped from her hands. Not because of the sweat greasing her grip around it, not the fear of him, not anything less than his blood splashing out from his arm.
Danielle stood like a statue in her position for some countable moments, with her eyes pinch closed, arms pulled straight in front of her posturing like she was still holding that gun. Her figure was trembling heavily that it became hard for her legs to carry her weight, however, she eventually saved herself from stumbling on to the floor.
"Run!!! Danielle!" She reminded herself about her aim which diminished somewhere behind the tumultuous noise.
Pulling herself back, she tried to locate the gun thrown on the floor, apparently away from her reach. At first, she thought of grabbing it but then she realized that she really didn't have the time to grab the gun when she heard Rogue's tensed voice.
"Bossss!" He hollered as he quickly ran to his rescue.
She spared a glance at Enrique wincing in pain, his hand was covering the wound the bullet had made. Luckily it didn't get into his flesh because she was not even a partially trained shooter, in fact, it was the first time ever she had grabbed a freaking gun in her hands and pressed its trigger.
"Leave me!"
Enrique blared in anger instead.
"Catch her!" He ordered as he saw her escaping towards the main door.
Rogue's attention diverted towards her, and he quickly ran after her.
"Make sure. You don't touch her!" Enrique shouted from behind.
Rogue stopped to spare a glance at him howling in pain.
"Did he need to say that!?"
After witnessing the sheer violence happening with that fellow guard who would dare to touch his Mistress?
Rogue chimed in and ran out to stop her, making sure he didn't put at stake his hands.
