Anna slept for an hour, after waking up she was in a much better condition both mentally and physically. She told Ast what events transpired after she and Alena ran away from the Chrome tribe on Edwin's instructions.
After she and Alena left they were ambushed on their way by 20 men and they took the two of them as captives, on seeing that Alena was an elf they were a bit scared, Elves were known for their ruthlessness and their common hate for humans. So the group of 20 men were afraid of retaliation from the elves.
So they were hesitating to take any actions themselves, so they called for backup and further instructions from higher up. The reason they were that careful was that elves were a powerful race in the cosmos and there was no info that a tribe of elves had been cursed and were residing in the Orient forest.
Then before their backup could arrive they all were transported to this desert within the system event. Here they knew it wouldn't do them any good to kill Anna and Alena so they kept them hostage and question them to know more about the situation inside the forest and how an elf was found with a human inside the forest.
The group of 20 men divided into 4 teams and began scouting the area, Alena was with one of the other teams.
Anna saw the 5 men that were her captor lying on the ground and squirming and turning in pain while they were unconscious. Anna felt bad for them as according to her they did capture her but they didn't kill or torture her in any way so she believed that they were only soldiers following the commands.
She asked Ast if he could let them leave, Ast was surprised by Anna's request. She asked Anna her reasoning for such a request. Anna told him her thoughts to which Ast had mixed feelings, he was glad that Anna was still a kid with a lot of innocence but it also meant that she was still unaware of how cruel this world truly was.
Anna did ask about the chrome tribe and Ast didn't lie to her and told her the truth, he thought it was better for her to come to terms with reality as soon as possible. Anna was heartbroken to hear the truth but was also thankful to find Ast.
Now Anna was conflicted inside she didn't see these people as innocent anymore but she still did not have the stomach to see someone being tortured. Seeing Anna's conflicted behaviour Ast asked Viktor what would happen if he killed these men right now.
Hearing his master's question Viktor once again started flaunting his knowledge "Master do you know why the order and the council are so hellbent on monopolizing these events organised by the system, I mean it is obvious that the power that one could attain through rewards is a huge attraction but there is something more.
As the system told us in the beginning, it teleported us into an isolated space-time node/plane, now the special thing about this isolated space-time is that when we return to reality than even if we would have spent years inside this space no amount of time would have passed outside. And it is true for every participant either someone exits at the beginning or the end of the event.
So the answer to your question is that it does not matter if you kill these people right now or you keep them as prisoners till the end of the event they would enter reality at the same time as we would and no time would have passed in the reality.
This is also the reason why the System is considered an unfathomable existence, for example, although when exiting such events system reverts our physique and soul to when it was in reality when we entered but if someone spends years training their comprehension of various techniques and elements then he/she would be years ahead of their peers and sometimes as a reward the system even allows you to keep the physical enhancement that you acquired inside an event.
Thus these organisations spend a fortune to monopolise these system events and keep the information regarding them hidden"
Ast was shocked at how unique these events were and how powerful the system was. Ast was relieved that Anna was relatively safe until now but he knew that Anna's generosity could later bring problems to her, as the saying goes leniency towards one's enemies can be cruelty towards oneself.
But Ast still didn't mind her acting like a kid as he knew that time would eventually make her more mature and it would not be right to force things.
