Ast has heard and read about the devotion the elves have towards their race but this was the first time he saw someone so close to him betraying him for their beliefs. Ast also made up his mind and promised himself to never be lenient towards his enemies because even if what others think that they are doing is right doesn't mean that he has to be empathetic towards them and their goals as at the end of the day he has his own goals to achieve.
Ast let Luna's skill work its magic for some time and then he killed Alena and she too turned to dust and vanished, Ast knew this wasn't the last time he would be seeing Alena and most probably next time they meet it would be as enemies.
Ast, Viktor and Anna continued their journey but along the way, they found nothing but widespread desert, they were lucky that the system didn't block their storage rings so they had a huge reserve of food with them.
They had spent days inside the desert without finding any other living creatures nearby.
"Viktor, how long can an event last ?" asked Ast
"Master these events are truly mysterious sometimes these might end within one or two months but sometimes these events might go on for a few years as well. Master, I believe it would be in our best interest if we could somehow extend the duration of this event and find ways to empower ourselves as that would help us against the order and the council"
"Yes I agree, but we also need some way to carry our progress into reality, because if this event really takes a year then my and Luna's talent would have levelled up a lot, but going to reality it might be reset," said Ast
"Master the system only reverts our physique and soul, you don't need to worry about your talent and skill level also the top three of any event are excluded from this rule, for them, the system alters the reality and lets them keep even their physical and soul related progress"
Ast was surprised on hearing that the system could even do that, it was a way to get extraordinary powers. Imagine someone right in front of your eyes going from weak to overpowered with just a blink of your eyes(time stops inside events).
Ast saw that some distance ahead there was a huge group of people fighting amongst each other.
One group of people were wearing golden armours and wielding swords with some archers in the back, the other group was covered in black clothes like that of an assassin they had daggers in their hands and from the back, many were throwing sharp curved blades to kill their enemies.
The golden army was concentrated around a carriage and a small cage containing three small shadow cat babies, Ast recognised them at a glance as these beasts were known for their camouflage abilities and were famous even in the orient forest.
Ast knew that in a world where personal talent and powers were restricted the best source of power for people would be to tame powerful beasts and so these two groups were mainly fighting for the possession of these three shadow cats which seemed to be three years old.
"Viktor, are your bats usable in this world?"
"Yes master, earlier when we arrived I kind of lost my contact with the bats I was not able to call them but now everything is fine, my bats are very powerful and would be a huge help inside the event"
Ast had himself witnessed the power of Viktor's bats so he didn't refute Viktor's words.
"Send half your bats to attack and distract them and then send some of them to steal those shadow cats" instructed Ast
"Anna this world will be very important to you, right now your talent is blocked but if you enter the top three you will be able to keep everything you collect here and that includes the beast as well, with your talent it would help you a lot when we return to reality," Ast said while looking at Anna he wanted her to gain powers to protect herself and be a powerhouse of the future, she already has a high-grade talent, now she only needed some guidance.
