Ast was in a cave experimenting with the blood devil. The blood devil was a reflection of Ast in using any weapons and fighting techniques. Just like Ast, it was also proficient in using daggers and 'chain + sickle'.
What surprised Ast was the fact that he could even share the vision with the blood devil. Meaning if he uses it properly then he would not have any blind spots during any fight and could use the blood devil for scouting.
Blood devil's attack did not hold that much power but its strength lies in its speed and flexibility with which it could fight and bring down its opponents. And this was all the power of a level 1 skill, if given time the rise of this skill meant the rise of the power of this blood devil.
Ast was happy on having a good combat partner with him, but suddenly an idea struck him. ' What if I sign a soul contract with this blood devil and then change my temporary talent, doesn't it means that I get to keep the skill without occupying any temporary spot'.
Although many questions were still lingering around this idea of his, Ast was now determined to further investigate.
Soul contracts as the name suggests were contracts that came into this world with the system. But to create such contracts one needs to have the required talent for them.
These soul contracts were also a way for the chrome tribe to leave the orient forest. Because it is using these soul contracts, you can sign slave contracts, which would allow the curse of the chrome tribe to be over.
The only condition required for the lifting of the curse was the signing of the slave contract by the cursed party, becoming someone else subordinate for life.
Ast had already done a lot of research on the subject of soul contract as he feels burdened by the plight of the chrome tribe.
Remembering the soul contract Ast had a mixed reaction, he knew in the past people have used this kind of strategy (using soul contacts) on creatures originating from their skills, to gain extra summons but more often than not there was an involvement of extra steps required to do this.
Now Ast knew he had to specifically read more on this topic. And as he has already been employed in the transit terminal, he could use their virtual library for the same.
Ast then tried various strategies and combinations with the blood devil and later in the evening he went near the fero tribe territory to meet his good friend Alena.
"Hey Alena, you are looking stunning as usual"
Ast said in a teasing tone. " Hmmph, now you remember me, where were you all these days? Why didn't you come to see me? I heard you awakened 'The Analyst' talent, which grade is your talent?" Alena bombarded Ast with questions.
" Calm down, calm down. As you know about my talent then you should know it gives me ocular prowess, maybe now I can compete with you in archery. What do you say, want to compete? " Ast said as he knew Alena was very competitive.
While Alena was bringing out a bow and some arrows for Ast and setting up the field for some archery competition, Ast quickly copied her S-grade archery talent onto his last temporary slot.
Ast felt some changes happening to his body and a severe pain assaulted his head. Ast was expecting it. It had nothing to do with the talent itself but he knew that each talent brings about a lot of changes to the body and vast changes in the brain and soul itself ( increasing proficiency) so each time it takes a toll on him. Ast figured that he needs a talent which strengthen his brain and soul continuously.
After a while, the pain receded and Ast saw the skill that he obtained from his new talent.
