Chapter 3 - A twist of plans

The cool afternoon breeze struck Vin's face as they approached the palace.

"Mr Greg," he called as he sighted some palace guards taking their morning round.

"Say no more, I will do the talking and you, the listening." Mr Greg told him, already knowing what he had in mind.

As they went in further, two guards stopped them on the track.

"Good Morning gentlemen" Greg greeted.

"Morning Greg!" The first guard greeted him, with his main concern on Vin.

"You seem to have some company today" The second guard said, expressing curiosity.

"Sure, he is a helping hand," Greg explained.

"Would you move so we can question the boy?" The first guard asked.

"No problem" Greg moved as the guard walked towards Vin with seriousness on his face.

After a long eye contact, the guard asked, "You look a bit shady for my liking, any reason to that?"

"Well, that's what people tell me," Vin told the guard.

"They aren't wrong." Breaking the eye contact, the guard finally allowed Vin to pass into the castle.

"There is an odd aura emitting from that boy" The second guard said to his partner. "I sensed it perfectly and it feels odd"

"Well since Greg allowed him to join, there is nothing we can do."

Vin on the other hand furrowed his brows as he could hear them audibly, even from a far distance.

[So they saw me as a teenager, then that means the hood actually is handy].

"We will get to the stable soon" Greg cut through Vin's thoughts.

"Okay sure."

______

The morning flew by as I realized how hard it is being a stable keeper, especially when the horses are used for war and by the king himself who I haven't seen for quite a while now.

Watching and learning from Mr Greg actually isn't as bad as I thought.

The man has a good heart and I could see a huge sense of responsibility just displayed on his face and attitude.

Even though I cleaned the stable and fed the horses, I kept an eye on the knights in training Everytime I had to get some water.

The palace itself is a huge place.

Not only is there knight training going on, there is also a class of mages in training.

But I needed to keep my head low and blood lust in control because that is one disadvantage to having an overpowered demon body.

Morning and Evening, day after day I helped Mr Greg who actually didn't have any regrets for employing me.

During the night, I would depart into the forest to at least find somewhere to relax and sleep.

That was after I knew I could rebuild my own castle. The castle this original body has.

Going deeper into the forest and farther from the village, I spotted a mountain after sixteen hours of searching.

Not even a feeling of tiredness stuck me. It was as if I could walk around the whole world with ease and feel no stress. Something I couldn't do naturally.

Rebuilding the castle is no big deal. Just setting a location and lifting your hands to forge the largest building in the forest.

Well No! It was harder than I could imagine.

I needed to know which latitudes, the size and everything concerning camouflaging.

There isn't a minute which passed that I didn't miss my odd life of a normal boy. Not a villain who is hunted by men of hurt.

Finally, on the twenty-fifth day of the month, I finally rebuilt the mansion. Something the original body would do with the snap of his fingers.

"Why is things so hard for me even though I'm in the body of an overpowered demon!."

Every day, I would get up early, eat any human food which tasted disgusting in my mouth and dashed to the palace before Mr Greg got there.

Happily, I would receive my share of profit. He suddenly began paying me even though I refused.

"Please if you don't take it, I would have a guilt in my heart for making you do all the work without a single pay" I remember him saying.

Not wanting to break a fourth year old man's heart, I received the money. Twenty bronze coins.

Don't get me wrong, everyone would want to receive that money. But as Dravil, I actually do not need anything concerning money. My mansion provided all.

Things all went smoothly for the days and the feeling of not being bothered about this whole villain hero stuff filled my head.

So I thought, until a day came when an A-ranked knight provoked me.

After that day, I began to train as a mage in the palace, in order to get more information concerning my powers. That wasn't all actually. It also was for me to pay Mr Greg after he lost his Job.
