Quinn had a very important meeting in another city so he left even before Alyssa woke up.
Alyssa walked down the stairs without making much sound. She knew no one in the Mansion loves her. They only smile and talk politely to her when Quinn Winters was around.
" Good morning Madam." A maid greeted her from the side. She smiled politely and responded to her greeting.
She got to the dining room but found out that the breakfast was not yet set which was quite strange. She pinched her legs and quickly reminded herself not to get used to her luxury life since it will only be short lived.
" Madam? What are you doing here?"
Alyssa grimaced when she heard Linda's sarcastic voice from behind.
" Mr. Winters is not around today so we didn't prepare breakfast. It already good that he is nice to you by providing you shelter. You can't have everything on a platter of gold." Linda eyed Alyssa's petite back and snickered.
Alyssa clenched her fist. She was just a piece of trash in the eyes of the maids. She swallowed hard and then smiled faintly remembering she would soon attend college. She turned to face Linda with her shoulders squared.
" I just came to have a look. I'm not really feeling hungry. I will take my leave now." She said politely and made to leave.
" Remember, whatever you do outside, there are reporters everywhere. A silly mistake of yours can bring embarrassment on the Winters and eventually lead to your death."
Since the first day she stepped her foot in Quinn Winters mansion, that has always been the warning the head maid gives to her.
'' Thanks for the remembrance. I will keep in mind" She adjusted her glasses and walked away.

" Sorry for the trouble. Is it really okay to bring her out for this long?" Alyssa questioned the nurse that accompanied them to pay respects to their father.
" It's okay since she is all covered. She will go through thorough tests when we get back to the hospital."
" Dad! I've missed you a lot. I'm now a big girl. Almost sixteen but still unable to live like a normal human. I'm not complaining about my condition it's just that... Ally is about to go to college and I'll be lonely. The hospital doesn't allow me to leave their environment so there's no way for me to visit you again. " Her eyes grew heavy. She cleared her throat and bowed her head.
" If only you didn't..." She felt a warm pat on her shoulder. She offered Alyssa a grateful smile and took a lengthy breath.
" Let's go" She smiled and wheeled her chair away without waiting for her sisters response.
Throughout their journey back to the hospital, it was very quiet. Each of them immersed in a thought of their own.
Trying to come to terms with the death of their father. Although Alyssa didn't say it aloud, Alexia knew her sister blamed herself for the death of their father. She blamed herself for being unable to give Alexia the better and complete family she always wanted.
" Are you sure you're going to be okay alone?"
" One hundred percent. Don't you have to pack up? Go ahead and don't worry about me. I'm really fine. I just want to be alone and besides what else is there to do other than sleeping and thinking " Her cute eyes trained on the IV and she shook her head.
Alyssa refused to move. Even if she wanted to, it was hard for her to think of anything else. She pressed her lips together to suppress the tears threatening to fall down . She slowly walked towards Alexia and pulled her into a big sisterly hug.
" Don't forget that I'm always here for you. Don't hesitate to tell me whatever s wrong with you. "
Alexia hugged her tightly for a moment and let her go. " Seeing you talk like this makes me want to tear up but that not going to be possible yunno" She winked and laid down on her bed. She closed her eyes while still smiling.
" Close the door on your way out and no tears please. I'm not dead yet" She spoke irritably when she heard a low sob from Alyssa.
Alyssa kissed her forehead and hurriedly walked out of the room. She was already famished but there was not enough money with her. She wasn't interested in using the card Quinn gave to her on their wedding day.
She got to where the driver parked the car but noticed rather then a white car, it was low key black car.
She pouted. * The driver must have planned with all of the maids to make me walk back home* She shuddered at that thought as it dawned on her how miserable her life would be when Quinn isn't around.
The glass was rolled down and Alyssa hiccupped on sighting the specimen in front of her. He looked really hot with his warm smile.
" Hop in" Quinn urged when she just stood there gawking at him. Her eyes brightened and she nodded happily.
Quinn leaned close to her as soon as he got into the car. Her eyes widened as she held her breath.
*Is he going to kiss me?* She bit her lower lip in nervousness and anticipation.
Quinn helped her buckle her seat belt and sat back down resuming his driving.
Alyssa held the breath she had been holding and rubbed her neck.
*Get a hold of yourself Alyssa! He has a girlfriend and definitely won't be in love with you anytime soon* She screamed internally at her self but she knew it would be hard for her to focus since Quinn wouldn't stop letting her think otherwise.
Quinn stole a glance at her hands that was placed on her laps. He couldn't help but have the thought of intertwining his fingers with hers. He managed to control himself till they got to a shopping mall.
Alyssa threw him a questionable gaze but didn't say anything.
" You will begin college in two days time. Let's get you some things that you will need. "
Quinn said as they walked inside. The mall was devoid of any living soul except two staffs.
" Are they already closed for the day? " Alyssa muttered as she followed him.
" I hate crowd" Came Quinn's curt reply.
Alyssa nodded slowly and watched Quinn pick different items into the shopping cart.
Alyssa admired his side profile as he contemplated on the flavour of shampoo would suit her best. She was too engrossed that she didn't hear when he asked her about the shampoo she preferred.
Quinn turned his face to her after being ignored. He found her staring at him with her red lips slightly parted. Quinn quickly turned his face away and cleared his throat. Alyssa turned her attention to him and he asked with his head lowered down, " What else do you need? "
Alyssa blinked her eyes and stared at him in astonishment for a while before she understood his question.
She quickly shook her head "Nothing else." Quinn had already taken more than what she could use for a whole semester.
Her stomach growled in hunger as they were about to enter the car. Alyssa held her breath and hoped Quinn didn't hear the sound. If he did, she would be greatly embarrassed. She raised her head up and observed him. He didn't seem to hear the threatening sound of her stomach.
