Chapter 29 - Sunlight

He stands firm on the floor of the boat while slowly swinging his sword. He continues the practice of the sword movement in concentration while forgetting everything else around him.

While Marnia looks at him as though he is some kind of freak, finally she couldn't stand the sight of him training from day to night any longer. Interrupting him, saying, "Can you stop for a second? I'm kind of hungry..."

Leo pretends to not hear what she is saying and ignores her while continuing his practice of the sword. But he couldn't ignore her for too long before she takes her strategy of interrupting his sword practice to the next step by poking his butt.

He bats away her hand and gives her a menacing looking, "Damn! Can you stop it? I already told you to find food for yourself."

She pouts her cheeks while giving him a look that almost looks like she is asking: are you an idiot?

"It's not like I don't want to do that." She rests her head and her belly on the floor by the edge of the boat while staring down at the blue water below.

For the couple of days that he had been with her, he slowly found out that she was actually a devil fruit user. Not that it was a cool ability to him or anything, because more than anything else, her power was an absolute annoyance for him.

For starters, he would find her in his bed early in the morning every time that he wakes up, despite telling her countless times not to do that already. But she just goes the next day ignoring his complaints, or worst, gave him those large puppy eyes which he can't refuse.

Is it because she's not attractive? She's attractive, but in Leo's mind, there is no gender difference. There's only the desire to become stronger right now. Every time that he's alone, he would imagine himself hacking Doflamingo or Black Beard in half in his imagination.

Which is exactly why she stays close to him like a sloth all the time. Her ability allows her to put those who are weaker than her psychologically into a fantasy and also produce physical objects from those fantasies. But the side effect beyond the obvious is that she needs to devour upon the desires of others around her as a kind of 'mana'.

"Can you get me some fishes? Birds will also do." She looks at him, fawning over him with an air of ignorance. But it disappoints her when she sees that Leo just went straight back into training with his sword. And after his upper body becomes soaked with sweat, he puts down the sword down around his waist.

Her eyes light up again seeing that he had put his sword away, thinking that he was about to get her some fishes, saying to him with shining eyes, "Finally!! I'm so hungry, Leo~"

The next second, she sees Leo doing handstands on the floor. It is a new form of training that he used, by putting air pressure similar to gravity around himself. The weight of the surrounding air is almost like jumping into a training room dozens of times that of his body weight.

'I feel so sad, Leo is ignoring me,' Marnia thought to herself, before drawing circles with her finger in a corner of the ship. She then sits on of one of those couches inside the boat while looking out the window.

And as the second that goes by, she soon finds that in the distance there lies the sight of a spot like a small dot that continues to get larger with time. She jumps with joy in the air upon seeing that their boat is coming closer to a new island. "Leo!! Look!! I found ourselves a new island!"

Lowering his body on the ground, Leo picks up a white towel that he was hanging on the edge of the boat to wipe the sweat that's coming down from his face. Of course, he could sense the island that was in the distance before Marnia, with his Haki. His senses are telling him there is some weird tension that's going on there on the island.

Their boat arrived at the shore of the island, and before he even finished docking their boat, he already sees Marnia fleeing like a horse to the shopping mall in the distance. He thinks to himself inside, 'I really hope she doesn't come back. I got a better idea. I should set sail right now and leave her here.'

As he was just smiling to himself like a creep and beginning to walk towards the boat again, he sees the painful cries of children in the close distance.

"You useless tools!! How can you, not even do one thing, right?" The adult screamed at the child. He looks like a merchant, a fat merchant with spit that is flying in all directions from his mouth. He is picking the ear of the child in front of him with his finger, causing him to cry from pain. Not only that, but he kicks the child with his feet repeatedly and even ignoring the bleeding from his kick that caused the child to bleed from his bruises.

'How come I always find myself in these kinds of situations? The author of this book must be too lazy to plan a good plot,' Leo sighs to himself before disappearing from his spot on the dock. 'Let me try my new trick.'

Air Bullet!

He appeared before the children in the next second. And used his finger to aim at the head of the merchant, and before anyone could even react fast enough, the guy's entire head, which was the size of a basketball, had already disappeared.

Everyone's faces just seemed to freeze with the shock, as though they have seen something unbelievable today. But even the marines here also had their eyes pop out with fear, at least that's what Leo could sense in the second.

"Commander Oran!!" The marines who were accompanying the merchant like dude screamed in a loud voice.

'That guy had connections with the marines? Now I'm really getting myself into a big mess,' Leo thought, and taking a glance at the children who were clinging to the back of his cloak as though he was their kind shield.
