Chapter 10 - A Blacksmith’s Pride

"Where to next?" Alissia stepped out of the armor shop in her new armor. Her long white hair fluttering in the wind made her look more noble than any adventure. It was quite scary how well the armor fit Alissia's figure to the point that it looked as if it was personally made for her. But this was also another benefit of magic. When Alissia first put the armor on, it was a little too big, but to her surprise that after a second she wore the armor, the armor suddenly shrank down to her size, giving a perfect fit. This was the same for the metal plating as well.

"We should get weapons next. We still have plenty of money. I am still shocked that it only came out to be ten silver. The shop owner had tears in his eyes when he was forced to sell everything so cheap." Millie felt kind of bad for the bald headed man.

"Millie, he was going to make you wear something that would expose your body. Don't feel bad for him." Alissia said while giving a gentle knock on Millie's head. "Being too nice can get you in trouble."

"Mm… I will listen to Young Miss." Millie replied while rubbing her head. She looked up at her Young Miss, who now looked like a knight, and blushed slightly. Her Young Miss was just too beautiful.

"Luckily, the weapon shop is right next door." Alissia pointed at the signboard above them.

The two walked into the shop to see it was quite busy. There were both males and females browsing the goods. But Alissia did not even need to think before spotting something that she liked instantly. She grabbed Millie's hand and made a b-line straight towards the back side of the shop that had a huge sword that was taller than her own body. "Hehe…."

"Ahhh! Young Miss, I wouldn't pick that up. It's very heav…. Ah!?" The shop owner was a short, stout man. A demi human of the dwarf race. He was rushing over to stop Alissia from hurting herself but froze in his tracks when this delicate looking girl lifted the sword that was taller than her up over her head with one hand and was spinning it around like it was a stick. "I'll be damned…." The shop owner stroked his beard and looked at Alissia in admiration.

"It's kinda light…." Alissia said with a frown.

*Bang!*

A crashing sound was heard, causing both Alissia and Millie to turn their heads and look over at the man who was slowly getting up. He stabled himself and raised his arm, and pointed his finger at Alissia. "To-To light!? Are you kidding me!?"

"But it is….." Alissia had no idea why she was suddenly being yelled at.

"You! Fine! Stay here! I will be right back! Let's see if you can handle this baby!" The shop owner stomped off. Leaving behind a stunned Alissia and Millie.

"Young Miss, there are many strange people in this outside world." Millie was quite surprised by how people acted. It was much different than those in the estate.

"Yeah, well, I am sure we will meet quite a few people from here on out. But Millie…. I should let you know that not everything is going to be so calm. There may be a day when we will need to shed blood. So always keep this in mind." Alissia was no stranger to having to do such a thing. In her past life, she had gotten into a few fights where life and death were the only options. While she did not like the thought of taking lives, if she needed to, she would not hesitate if it meant saving someone or getting rid of a villain that did not deserve a chance to even repent.

"I-I understand…." Millie lowered her head. She had been having so much fun with her Young Miss that she had forgotten about such things. The out side world was definitely a scary place and she should be more careful in her actions.

"Here!" The shop owner shouted as he dragged a large sword behind him. His brow was covered in sweat. With a single look, it was obvious that the sword was very heavy.

The shop owner stopped in front of Alissia and handed her the hilt of the large sword that was at least twice the size of her. Alissia took the sword and lifted it very easily, but when she saw the look in the shop owner's eyes that looked as if he was about to explode in anger, she quickly acted as if the sword was heavy: "Ah! So heavy!"

"You! At least put some effort into your acting! What the hell is that monotone voice? If it was heavy for you, you wouldn't be holding it with one hand still!" The shop owner yelled out in anger. "Wait here! You better not move! I guess I have no choice but to take that out."

"Ehhh!?" Alissia watched the small back of the dwarf as he stomped off once more with a look of disbelief. She turned to Millie and asked: "Was my acting that bad?"

"Young Miss…. Please never do that again…." Millie said while averting her eyes.

Alissa sighed as she remembered those days when she would jump in and try to act like the girl in trouble's boyfriend only to be laughed at by the thugs who she was going to punch. "Is this why the girls always had a strange expression on their faces?"

A few moments later, a scraping sound could be heard as the shop owner once more came back. This time he was dragging a large metal box. It was so heavy that it was leaving grooves on the floor as he moved it. But he did not seem to care one bit about this. All he cared about was getting this young lady who came into his shop to say one of his swords was heavy enough to swing properly! His pride as a blacksmith was on the line!
