Chapter 11 - Eternity

"Haahh! Lets…. See…. You…. Lift…. This….." The shop owner was having a hard time catching his breath as he finally came to a stop.

"Are you okay?" Alissia asked. She somehow felt that this was all her fault.

"I be fine. One second let me catch my breath. I still wonder why the hell I made this thing. But listen here, missy. If you can lift this, I will give it to ya for free." The store owner announced seriously. His voice had been loud this entire time, so a small group of people had already formed to see what was going on. And many were shocked when they heard the shop owner, who was known for being a stickler about his prices, suddenly say he was going to give something away for free.

"Ummm….. Okay?" Alissia was still trying to comprehend why this was all happening. First, she got fifty percent off on her armor. Now she was going to get a free weapon? Was this her lucky day? Was this how the gods were repaying her for all her good deeds in her past life?

"Heh…" The dwarf snorted and walked over to the side of the large metal box. He knelt down and undid the clasps on the side and slowly opened it to reveal a large sword that glimmered under the dim light of the shop. "This here is Eternity. I made her with my heart and soul with a strange ore I found back when I was a child. It is a sword that can transform. It can be a great sword like you see here, a massive hammer, or even a polearm. If you want her, you only need to lif….."

The shop owner watched as Alissia reached into the box with one hand and lifted the sword up with ease, his mouth slowly dropping to the floor. "You!? You could really lift it!?"

"Hmmm? Yeah, this one is not too bad. It has some weight to it and doesn't feel like I am swinging around a string." Alissia replied while swinging the sword around a bit with a smile. She really felt this sword was not half bad. "You said it can transform, right? Like into a hammer and stuff?"

"Yes, but I am not sure if Eternity will allow you to….. " The shop owner's voice got caught in his throat as he stared at the massive hammer in the girl's hands. "Fuck it! I give up! You are just too weird. Take her! Everyone out, I need time alone! Damn, girl lifts my most precious treasurer and can even use it with ease. Damn sword is biased towards the beautiful ...."

"Ah! Wait! My friend needs a weapon too!" Alissia quickly reached out and stopped the shop owner before he could run off.

"I got no staves for the little miss over there. She is a caster, right? Go down the street and find a building that looks like a pointed hat. Now leave me alone!" The shop owner yelled out while throwing Alissia's hand off. He then stomped off in anger towards the back room.

Alissia stood frozen in place as she turned her head to look at everyone else. She reached up with her free arm and pointed towards herself: "Is this my fault!?"

The whole crowd nodded their heads before shaking them and breaking up. Since the store was closed, they could no longer shop. Alissia suddenly did not know what to say. She looked at Millie, who kept her head lowered, looking for some kind of reassurance that she didn't do anything wrong, but Millie did not even look up at her. "What the hell did I do? I just picked up a damn sword!"

"Young Miss, you should learn to read the room a bit more and let people finish talking before you just go crushing their dreams." Millie said softly. But her words did indeed reach Alissia's ears. All of a sudden, Alissia started to feel bad. She realized she didn't really give the dwarf time to speak before just doing things on her own.

Scratching her head, Alissia grabbed her new weapon and reached down into the box, and took out the sheath that went with it. Luckily it had a strap on it, so she could easily strap it to her back. "Ahem… let's go to the place the shop owner suggested."

"Mmm…" Millie nodded her head as she followed her Young Miss out of the shop.

Their next stop was quite far down the street. Alissia used this time to adjust her new sword so that it would not drag on the ground. Although they were getting looks before, now, Alissia was really getting stared at. It was not every day you would see a delicate looking girl carrying a sword bigger than herself on her back like it was nothing.

"Big sister!" A little girl came running up to Alissia, causing Alissia to stop. She looked at the little girl, who looked around five years of age, and smiled. "Do you need something?"

'"Big Sister, are you a princess?" The young girl asked with a bright smile.

"Tilliy! You can't ask such questions!" A young woman in her twenties came running up and scolded the child. She then bowed her head to Alissia, "Princess, I am sorry! My daughter doesn't know any better. Please have mercy on us!"

"Huh?" Alissia was once again very confused. "Ummm… Miss…. I am no princess… so please, you do not need to do this."

"Huh?" Now it was the young woman's turn to be confused. She looked Alissia up and down and shook her head. "Princess, you should not say such things. Any way you look at it, you are a princess. Even if you come from another kingdom, it is only right that we should still treat you with the respect you deserve."

Alissia leaned over towards Millie and whispered: "What the hell is going on!?"

Millie giggled as she answered: 'It's because Young Miss is so beautiful that you would be mistaken for royalty. Just thank them and excuse yourself this way, they will stop bowing."

"Ah…. Ummm thanks… Do not worry about your daughter. She is very cute…." Alissia forced a smile even though she was still not sure why this was happening. The young woman seemed to be relieved as she bowed her head in thanks and took her daughter away.
