Chereads / returning with a [SSS-grade] talent / Chapter 9 - preparing for the second phase

Chapter 9 - preparing for the second phase

While Oliver was in deep meditation day and night, the rest of the world, but mainly the guilds and the governments were in chaos trying to find the mysterious man named Oliver Smith.

Of course, Oliver knew that they would be searching for him, so he rented a hotel under a fake name, while also wearing a disguise.

He wasn't scared, especially with his new upgraded talent he had nothing to fear on earth, but if he got found he would have to waste a lot of time, the one thing he needed more of.

As the days went on, and the search for Oliver became less and less fruitful, the big powers started to shift their resources to other places, like the newly discovered [S-grade] dungeon.

Oliver finally came out of seclusion after 30 days when he knew his ability to steal a magic array was renewed. There wasn't a screen or something, he just knew for some reason.

When he walked out of the room he went straight to his next target, the same place he got his previous magic array [hells paradise] for the [S-grade] fly skill the boss had.

This would be a great help in the combination of some great destruction spells in the second phase of the tutorial because the battlefields there will contain millions of people, and the terrain is so vast.

When he was almost at the dungeon portal, he saw a big operation going on around the dungeon.

Before he could get any closer 2 men who appeared to be players walked up to him.

"Excuse me but this is private property you got to leave sir."

After scanning everyone in the camp of people he determent that no one of them could even match his agility, so he could just rush in the portal at any moment if there wasn't already a raid going on.

"O, is that so, are you guys perhaps doing a raid at the moment?"

Furrowing his brows, the men seemed to get more frustrated.

"No, not yet, but this dungeon is our territory so get out!!"

Oliver already guested that this group of people was from the phoenix guild, they have always been a rowdy bunch.

"No, I don't think I will."

BOOM

Before the guards could even respond to Oliver's remark the ground already exploded as Oliver jumped forward with full force strait to the dungeon portal.

"STOP HIM!!"

The guards tried their best, but even before the rest of the camp could comprehend what was happening Oliver was already in the dungeon.

The dungeon was not really a challenge for Oliver, so he got in the boss room in no time, and he immediately copied the skill fly.

"Absorb the magic array [fly (S-grade)] from [King of hell (SS-grade)]."

[are you sure you want to absorb the skill [fly (S-grade)]?]

"yes"

[you have gained the skill [fly (S-grade)]]

After killing the boss and getting some [S-grade] heavy armor he planned on selling later, Oliver prepared to be teleported to the outside.

He knew that a lot of people would be waiting for him, but that's nothing a few blinks can't solve.

After teleporting out, like he expected a few people were screaming at him.

"QUICKLY STOP HIM!!!"

When Oliver looked around, he could see a lot of swordsman running at him, and spells flying in his direction.

BOOM BOOM

The spells landed but Oliver was nowhere to be seen.

He had already blinked away and was walking to his hotel now, he could decide to fly but then they would spot the direction he was going in in a second, and Oliver didn't have time for such a hassle, he had to go back to meditating.

Before he started meditating again, he looked at his status screen to see how much mana he had accumulated over the past 30 days.

----------------------------------

Before he went back to meditating, he also has to the shop to sell all the [S-grade] items and skill he still had.

Every item sold for around 3-5 million and every skill from 10-15 million. His total wealth was around 150 million coins. Oliver was getting all these coins because there was something he wanted to buy in the second phase of the tutorial.

In the second phase there is only one shop per side, in each base camp, but these shops sell items and skills up to [S-grade].

The things the shop sells there aren't only higher rank, the assortment is also way bigger.

I believe there were around 30-50 [S-grade] skills, it also sold elixirs and potions that can increase elemental affinities, reset stones that deleted everything about your character but gave you another chance at the test of the obelisk, guards, and more.

The thing Oliver wanted is a [S-grade] large destruction spell of the lighting element, normally large destruction spells are already extremely expensive, about 10 times as expensive as the other skills of that rank, add to that that it is a lighting element skill, which due to its high damage is also around 2 times as expensive as normal skills, the price should be around 200-300 million.

And the skill Oliver was aiming for was on the higher side of the spectrum costing 280 million, [thunder gods descend(S-grade)].

Oliver had seen this skill many times, the guy who murdered the whole human race did it mainly with this skill.

The crazy part to us back then was not how much damage it did, but that he could even use it, with the large power that large scale destruction spells hold, there is an equivalent price to pay, and of course in spellcasting this is in the form of mana, one cast of this spell cost 10.000 mana.

Yea sure regenerating that mana is not a problem with the number of coins you get by using it but getting a 10.000 mana pool in the tutorial is close to impossible, it's obvious that the maker of this skill made it with a last resort situation in mind. But now Oliver could cast this spell 3 times in a row, not even including his – 40% spell cost he has.

But Oliver was still a long way off his goals, he needed another 130 million coins, which should be relatively easy in the second phase of the tutorial.

At the verry least it would be easy if he could storm the opposing army on his own, or if he could kill a big shot of the enemy.

You get a lot of loot in the second phase because it works as followed, when you kill someone of the opposite faction you gain the number of coins they had, all their armor and the EXP they had accumulated, all of this would drop somewhere next to you or in the spatial skill/spell or spatial tool if you had any of those.

Oliver was planning on playing the biggest role in the war to ensure he got the biggest reward at the end of the tutorials second phase; he didn't know for sure if there where individual rewards at the end of the second phase but there are at the end of the first so he could only speculate.

With all his plans laid out Oliver went back to meditating for the next 14 days.
