[you have killed a [Hobgoblin (D-grade)] and gained 150 EXP]
[congratulations on clearing the dungeon [Goblins den (E-grade)] please choose 1 of the 5 chests in front of you as your reward.]
Before Oliver picked one of the chests he walked towards the place where the Hobgoblin had died to pick up its loot.
[you have gained [decent iron sword(E-grade)] and [coin]x200]
The sword was honestly bad, but it is only an [E-grade] dungeon so you can't expect any higher rewards from the monsters than the dungeon level.
After that he started looking through the chest, for normal people this process of picking a price is totally random, but for the eyes of truth looking inside a closed chest is child's play.
After looking at all the items the only item he could use is a pair of boots.
----------------------------------
[agile leather boots (E-grade)]
+3 agility
+15 defense
Description: a pair of flexible leather boots, made for hunting and comfort with low defense.

"I should go to the shop on the way back to the hotel and sell my sword, if I combined all of my coins there should be around 1100. If I get that every time I run dungeon, I could afford that skill book in no time."
Like he expected the sword sold for 150 coins, that brought his total up to 1110 coins. Just when he was about to leave, he heard a voice behind him.
"Hey, who are you"
The second Oliver heard the voices he noticed and air of entitlement in them.
"me?"
"yes you, do you see someone else in the store?"
When he turned around, he saw 3 people 2 man and 1 woman, all of them vaguely familiar. One in picqueter, the man who didn't scream at him, the first human with a [S-class] talent, Andrew Williams with his talent [Sword soul (S-grade)]. The other 2 should have A or B grade talent, otherwise I would not have remembered them.
To be honest I was quite surprised by their appearance, not because they were strong but because you had to complete your character creation to enter this place. I had no idea so many obelisks already spawned in the first day.
I had a lot of things to do so I honestly couldn't be bothered with a guy who spoke like that, but before I was about to leave Andrew spoke up.
"I'm sorry for my short-tempered friend over here, we are just curious about the person who managed to complete the character creation before us. O forgive me my name is Andrew Williams I'm sure you have heard of me before."
I honestly like the other guy more, the kind of guy who you can read like a book. This Andrew guy is a lot more difficult to get a grip on.
"hm no problem I wasn't taking it to hearth. My name is John Brown"
I wasn't particularly scared of what Andrew could do with my name but better safe than sorry.
"This is quite good timing mister Brown we happened to be looking for more teammates, we are going to explore a dungeon in a few days."
"That's quite interesting, what dungeon are you guys going to explore and have you guys gone inside already?"
"If you are curious, the dungeons name is [slime's garden (F-grade)] and no we haven't gone inside."
After that was said Oliver was relieved, he had planed to get all the discovery bonuses from the dungeons [D-grade] and up and maybe [E-grade] if he had time after running the [Goblins den (E-grade)] for a couple of days. If these guys were planning on exploring a high-level dungeon, I would have had to beat them to the chase, but nothing is to worry.
"Thank you for the offer but I'm quite busy at the moment so I'm afraid I'll have to miss out."
Then before Andrew could say or ask anything else, I bid them farewell. With his 2 companions staring holes in my back.
When Oliver left Andrew turned to the girl next to him.
"So, Lili what do you got on him?"
"nothing"
The girl said in a solemn voice.
"nothing? Hm, he's even better than I thought"
"he's probably not that good, he probably just got some talent that blocks mind attacks. What's so good about that?"
Said the angry man next to Andrew.
"maybe, maybe not."
Outside Oliver was already going to the hotel planning to rest for a couple of hours before heading back out.
He was planning on doing at least 3 runs tomorrow. With his improved speed and power this shouldn't be a problem.
And as he predicted in the 20 hours he did dungeons the next day, he was able to do 4 runs in total, after such a long day he sat down on his hotel room bed and looked at his gains his gains.

The total amount of [coin] he has accumulated now is 10,050. Because he got quite a few pieces of equipment that he didn't need and those were expensive, 1500 a pop.
The 1 thing he could use was a wand named [apprentices wand (E-grade)] it wasn't that great, but anything is better than nothing.
----------------------------------
[apprentices wand (E-grade)]
+5 intelligence
+5% spell damage
Description: a staff for the made for the newest of magicians.

When he went back to sell all his things in the shop, he also encountered Andrew and his 2 friends again, they were looking at him quite weird, almost like they were seizing him up or something. Oliver couldn't understand why they were being so ridiculous, after all this was only there second meeting, but all became clear when he inspected them with [eyes of truth], the girl was named Lili Williams, Andrew's sister and the holder of the talent [golden eyes (A-grade)], the most powerful inspection tool except for mine, Rumer has it that it can even see through [S-grade] individuals and items, luckily for me, my [eyes of truth] can block anything [S-grade] or below.
The way they look at me is probably because Lili tried to inspect me but couldn't get anything.
But I can't really be bothered now so I'll let it slide.
After talking to them for a short while and yet again declining to do a dungeon together I was about to leave but thought of something.
"Andrew, you don't have a weapon, right. Want to buy this one?"
I pulled out the [decent iron sword(E-grade)] and showed the stats to him.
----------------------------------
[decent iron sword(E-grade)]
+5 strength
+5
% Agility while swinging the sword
Description: an iron sword made by a mediocre blacksmith as a mass-produced consumer product.
----------------------------------
After some discussing Andrew bought the sword for 15,000 dollars, to be honest that was way more than an [E-grade] item was worth, but he needed one and had no other place to get it.
Normally Oliver wouldn't have bothered selling something like this to Andrew but with the amount of flying he was going to have to do to claim all the dungeon discovery rewards, and the fact that he still needed to live for the next 3 months on earth made him do it.
Now that he had around 23,000 dollars, he felt that he was quite set for the next 3 months.
After settling his money affairs, Oliver went back to the hotel he was staying at to think about his future actions.
"If I sell everything I get in the dungeon, I should have enough for the [lightning bolt (D-grade)] if I do another 6 runs, with how familiar I am with the dungeon now and my extra equipment and level that should be doable in a day. "
His goal is the [lightning bolt (D-grade)] because it is known for its naturally high mana scaling and damage, like most lighting skills meant for combat. If we base it on purely destructive power then it would even rivel a [C-grade] skill, but because of its low utility and the fact that the lighting elemental affinity is rare, this skill was almost never used in my previous live.
That's why the skill is perfect for Oliver, with his super high lightning affinity and the skills naturally high damage he could comfortably take on a [C-grade] dungeon and start collecting the dungeon discovery rewards from D-C grade dungeons.
The increase in damage based on affinity works easy, if you want the base damage that is mentioned on a skill you will have to have 60% affinity, every precent you are above that it gives you +1% to the skills damage and every precent you are below that it gives you -1% skill damage.
After another day of griding Oliver indeed hit his mark for 6 dungeon runs and 25,000 coins collected, looking through his stats while making his way towards the shop to sell all his gains and buy [lightning bolt (D-grade)].

After some looking through all his stats and disturbing all his free attribute points into intelligence, Oliver arrived at the shop, sold all his equipment that he had collected that day and looked at how many [coin]'s there where in his ring.
[Coin]x25,650
"Great even more than I expected"
He didn't hesitate too much and directly bought the skill book and left. In the 3 days that he had created his character this place went from an empty store that looked ready to declare bankruptcy, to a relatively prosperous store with at least 10 people always shopping.
[the skill book [lightning bolt (D-grade) (1)] has been detected, would you like to absorb it?]
"yes"
After saying that another panel appeared in front of Oliver.
