The sky was clear with only a few soft, white clouds. The sun was shining brightly, but the temperature was not overly too hot.
Yun Shu raised her head to look at the sky and thought that the weather was good for a garden wedding. As she walked on the street with her slightly limping legs, Yun Shu began to envision a wedding that could take place under this perfect sky.
"Yun Shu, come over quick!"
The two of them were nearing the market when Yun Shu heard her grandmother's anxious voice. "Grandma, what happened?" She tried to walk a little faster and stopped once she reached her grandmother's side.
She followed her grandmother's line of gaze and saw that she was looking at a pair of orange cats at the corner.
The mother lay down on the floor with her newborn kitten drinking her milk.
Meanwhile, the father was busy licking the mother's face and rubbing their head together. The mother turned her head and the cat seemed to be kissing.
The pair of cats looked very loving. However, Yun Shu could not understand why her grandmother was this excited.
"Yun Shu, you see, even the cats had a better romantic life than you."
The corner of her lips began to twitch as she heard this comment.
It seemed that this was not the first time that her grandmother had said these words to her. But it was the first time her grandmother used cats to show how pathetic her romantic life is.
Heaving a sigh, Yun Shu straightened up and walked over to the market. She pulled the trolley and used it to support half of her body.
At this time, it was wise to move away from her grandmother as Yun Shu could already foresee what her grandmother was going to tell her.
For a few seconds, Yun Shu was regretting her decision to come out.
She should have checked on her horoscope before she goes out.
Just a minute later, her grandmother caught up with her and put a carton of eggs into the trolley.
"Yun Shu, when are you planning to bring home a boyfriend?"
She closed her eyes and groaned as this conversation was starting again.
"Just now, your Grandma Mo told me that her granddaughter is getting married soon. That girl had only graduated from university and she was planning to get married."
Yun Shu turned and pushed the trolley to another side. She looked around and pretended to be examining a stalk of green onion in her hand.
She should have known that once a group of elderly ladies gets together, they would love to talk about the younger generations in their family.
It was their time to brag about whose grandson had a successful career and whose granddaughter was going to get married and have kids.
In her opinion, the bunch of old ladies had too much time on their hands.
"It's not that I'm planning to nag you," Yao Ying quickly trailed after her granddaughter. "But Yun Shu, you are the Yun's family only, heir. As your grandmother, I'm only worried about you. I'm already this old. Before I go, I would like to see you get married and have a child. At least, I can tell your father and your grandfather that they shouldn't be worrying about you too much."
She stopped on her track and let out an exasperated sigh.
"Grandma, it's not that I didn't want to bring home a boyfriend for you to see, but I haven't met anyone decent."
"Nonsense. You were out meeting people all the time," Yao Ying pointed out. "Don't tell me that you haven't met any guys during your meeting with your clients?"
Yun Shu started to rub the space between her brow. "Grandma, I'm a wedding planner. People only come to me to plan their weddings. You can't expect me to snatch somebody else's groom, right?"
"Then, what about your co-workers?"
"My boss is in his fifties and most of my male co-workers are married."
There was a disappointed look on Yao Ying's face.
"The new guy who entered the company was still single."
Yao Ying's expression turned bright for a few seconds.
"However, we all know that he only likes men."
Yao Ying had this urge to beat her granddaughter if only they were not in public. This girl now dared to tease an old woman like her.
"You're just too picky."
Yun Shu found out that she did not have the patience to explain this matter to her grandmother anymore. "Grandma, of course, I have to be picky." Yun Shu touched a cabbage on the basket and placed it into their trolley. "Choosing a husband isn't as easy as choosing a cabbage."
Yao Ying pursed her lips into a thin line.
There was a long silence between the grandmother and granddaughter until someone walked over and speak.
"Hello, excuse me."
The two of them turned around simultaneously and saw that there was a tall handsome man beside them. Yun Shu gave that man a quick look over and noticed that his face looked a little familiar.
Wasn't this the doctor who had scolded her at the hospital a few weeks ago?
Qi Zheng turned to the old woman and smiled. In his hand were a few types of greens. "I'm sorry, but grandmother, I wonder if you can help me to choose these vegetables?" He let out a cough and continued. "I was supposed to buy some Italian Parsley." He looked at the greens in his hand. "But these are both parsley. I'm not sure which one is the correct one."
It took Yao Ying a few seconds to snap out of her trance. Then, she started to point at the correct herbs to that man.
"Young man, are you helping your wife to buy groceries?"
Qi Zheng flashed a smile. "Grandmother, I'm still single."
The smile on Yao Ying's face widened. "This is great." She tugged at her granddaughter's arm and continued. "Then, have you met my Yun Shu? She's my granddaughter. Coincidentally, she is single as well."
Yun Shu looked at her grandmother in horror
At this time, Yun Shu felt like dying from embarrassment.
