For the past two weeks, Yun Shu and her team were busying themselves to prepare for the blind date event. With the little time they have, the team was able to gather almost everything they need for the event.
Fortunately, Madame Gao, the client who wanted to hire them for this event, had secured the venue. Otherwise, Yun Shu could already imagine the nightmare.
The client was nice, helpful and thankfully, was not difficult to serve.
Yun Shu soon learned that the reason Madam Gao wanted to hold this event was that she was worried about her single grandson.
Madam Gao had sent her grandson on a few blind dates. Unfortunately, her grandson was quite picky. After a few failed blind dates, Madam Gao decided that holding this event would save her a lot of time. Her grandson could meet those eligible maidens and see which one he liked best.
Then, she asked a few of her friends to send their grandsons or granddaughter to participate in this event as well just to make it livelier.
Yun Shu could not help but sigh.
She recalled her grandmother who often urged her to find a boyfriend and get married fast.
On the day of the event, Yun Shu woke up early.
Her ankle was mostly cured and she was no longer limping. However, wearing a pair of high heels was still impossible for her to do.
When she came out of the room, her mother had long left for work.
Her grandmother, Yao Ying was in the living room, playing with her phone.
Judging from the way her grandmother was dressed up, Yun Shu guessed that her grandmother was heading out as well.
Yun Shu grabbed the meat bun on the table and glanced at her grandmother again. "Grandma, are you going out?"
The old woman finally looked away from her phone. "Mmm... Old Man Liu asked me out to watch a movie."
Yun Shu tried to recall this person. The only Old Man Liu she knew was their neighbor, Grandpa Liu, who live a few blocks away.
If she was not mistaken, Grandpa Liu's wife passed away a year ago and the old man has been living alone with only the caretakers to look after him.
The corner of her lips twitched as Yun Shu could guess what was going on. "Grandma, are you going on a date?"
"That's right. Old Man Han had already passed away. It was time for me to move on." Yao Ying said with a sigh. She stared into space for a few seconds as she recalled a few sweet memories with her previous boyfriend. After a while, she looked at her granddaughter again and spoke, "Yun Shu, when will it be the time for you to find a boyfriend?"
With her grandmother bringing up this topic, Yun Shu finally realized that it was time for her to head to work.
"Grandma, I can't talk now." She grabbed her purse along with a few files on the sofa. "I have a big event today. I might come home a little late."
"You..." Yao Ying heaved another sigh. "Look at you. Each time I try to talk to you about finding a boyfriend, you would find an excuse to escape. Yun Shu... Grandma did not mean to nag you. I'm just worried about you. I'm already this old..."
Yun Shu rubbed the space between her brow. She could already guess what her grandmother was going to say. After all, her grandmother has been repeating the same line over and over again.
She really could not understand why would her grandmother always urge her to get married.
Yun Shu did not think that it was important for a girl to get married just to be happy.
There were a lot of things that she can do even without a man by her side.
Her grandmother and her mother both lose their husband years ago, but wasn't they both able to live well and be happy?
"You are too busy planning other people's weddings," Yao Ying continued. "When will it be the time to plan yours?"
She walked over to the door and forced a smile. "Grandma, this time, the company wanted me to organize a blind date event. If I'm lucky, I'll bring home someone for you to see, alright?"
Yao Ying finally had a smile on her face.
But of course, Yun Shu had no plan to bring home someone for her grandmother to see. She just said those words to stop her grandmother from urging her to find a man.
What she did not expect was that her words would become true...
After leaving the house, Yun Shu headed straight to the country club where the event was supposed to take place.
As soon as she arrived, her assistant, Shen Yan Mo walked over to her side with an anxious look in her eyes.
"Yun Shu, fortunately, you are here."
Yun Shu took a deep breath and put on an assuring smile. "Alright. What's wrong?"
Shen Yan Mo looked like she was about to cry. "Some troublemakers are here. They heard about this blind date event and wanted to go in. The security had arrived to stop them. They are now arguing outside the hall."
"Alright. Don't panic. The security is already there. They will take care of this thing." Yun Shu patted the girl on her shoulder. "First, we have to find Madam Gao."
Shen Yan Mo nodded.
"What about Wei Man? Where is she?"
"She's with the security as well."
Yun Shu nodded. "I'll head over there first. Go and find Madam Gao." She watched as her assistant left before heading towards the hall.
As she was nearing the place, Yun Shu could already see a few people outside the hall. Her co-worker, Wei Man was busy reasoning with those troublemakers.
She walked over to Wei Man's side and spoke, "What's going on."
Wei Man frowned. "Yun Shu, the group of people insisted to join the event."
Yun Shu turned to look at those troublemakers. She opened her mouth, wanting to explain that this was a private event and no one other than those who had registered could enter. However, the moment she saw the person in front of her, the words she wanted to say suddenly disappeared.
Wasn't this person Qin Ji Ran? The scumbag she used to date back when she was in university?
