Chapter 23 - 023: He is a Legend (5)

"Tara Summer's mind was spinning, with countless keywords jostling for attention: Yancey Family, Saint Emperia, island, Young Master...

Even though she had been abroad these years, she was somewhat aware that the Saint Emperia Group was the richest family in the country. The current head of the family had a sterling reputation and was considered the king of Night City. He was the only son of the Yancey Family, Master Liam, his lordship.

Tara shuddered, naturally linking the mysterious man to Master Liam. His aura, temperament, and physique all seemed to match the rumors.

However, it was said that Master Liam was indifferent to women. But that didn't seem to be true from what she observed. Twice, twice he had almost forced himself on her. How could such a man possibly be indifferent to women?!

What was the real story behind the rumors? Over the years, there had been whispers that the Yancey Clan's bodyguards were scouring the world for women. Were all those women just making up stories? Had Master Liam actually been with thousands or even tens of thousands of women?!

The thought was terrifying...

'Young Master!' As she was lost in her thoughts, she suddenly heard the bodyguards call out in unison and bow in perfect alignment. It was such a grand spectacle that Tara was taken aback.

Out of instinct, she turned around and glimpsed a sight that left her frozen.

The man strode forward in the morning light, which cloaked him in a layer of golden shine.

Dressed in black, he stood tall, his striking features sharply defined, as if he were a Greek statue. His deep and dark eyes were wild and unrestrained, with a sexy charm.

The man exuded the aura of a powerful king. He sat down at the table, his incredibly handsome face cold and defiant.

His dark, stylish hair, the sharpness of his long eyebrows, the sharpness in his narrow eyes, the thinness of his slightly pursed lips, his muscular physique made him look like an eagle in the dark night – haughty and aloof, yet imposing and dominating. He emanated a strong, commanding presence.

Tara was completely stunned. She stood still, her eyes sparkling with admiration. She never knew a man in this world could be so exquisitely handsome, to an extent that any word used on him seemed blasphemous.

She instantly recognized him. It was the masked man!

He was indeed enchanting... she had imagined that the face beneath the mask would be strikingly handsome. But seeing it up close was still startling and her heart struggled to cope.

Master Liam didn't even flicker an eyelid. He helped himself to breakfast while she stood still. After a while, he finally lifted his eyes, those eagle-like eyes so deep, they were unfathomable, drawing her in.

'Are you planning to starve?' he asked with a tone as cold as an ice cellar

Tara couldn't help but shudder. As she came back to her senses, she sat down abruptly, noticing the man cast his eyes down again while his gaze skated over her once more.

'Are you Master Liam?' She wanted to verify her guess, holding her breath as she asked.

Master Liam did not respond, his face expressionless.

Tara furrowed her brows, 'Master Liam, he really is the legendary Master Liam, his lordship!' No wonder the maid who entered the bedroom earlier was so arrogant.

'Um, Mr. Yancey...'

Tara carefully chose her words, only to be cut off as the man abruptly lifted his gaze, coldly uttering two words, 'Remove it.'

What? Tara was a little slow to react.

The male servants behind her immediately moved forward upon hearing the command. Two of them quickly cleared away all the cutlery and food in front of her, their movements swift and coordinated.

Tara was struck momentarily dumb, but did not get angry. If they took it away, so be it. She really wasn't in the mood to eat anyway.

The man opposite her had his eyes downcast, his handsome face carved like ice. His slender hand held a crystal goblet filled with a richly colored wine. He took a small sip, every move he made was flamboyant and refined."
