She took a breath, trying to calm herself, not wanting him to worry.
"I'm fine, brother. I went to a friend's house and accidentally left my phone there." Her voice still sounded slightly hoarse.
"Friend?" George Summer was skeptical, "What friend?"
He knew all along that she didn't have many friends in Night City. How many true friends could a rich young heiress have?
"Well, a friend from when I was studying in the U.S.," Tara Summer did not want to lie, especially to him, but she had concerns. She feared the truth would scare Brother George.
"Really?"
"Hehe, don't worry, Brother George, I'm really alright," Tara Summer held onto his arm, her actions filled with affection, even a bit coquettish.
George Summer looked at her fair and smiling face. Unable to say any more, he put his arm around her shoulder and held her close as they walked towards Villa House.
