Chapter 1 - Chapter 01

I went downstairs after taking a long awaited shower. I had been training with the other pack members, but what use was it if I didn't have my fucking wolf yet? It was useless.

I approached the kitchen. Melanie was cooking dinner. I placed a kiss on Melanie's cheek. "Hey, Mom, how's dinner going?"

Melanie smiled. "It's going good, sweetheart. How was the training session today?"

I let out a huge frustrated sigh. Melanie turned towards me. "Mom, it's not fair that I have to train when I'm not even a wolf."

My mother put down the spoon she was using to stir and hugged me. "Your father and I are full-blooded wolves, there's no way you don't have wolf in your bloodstream."

I didn't believe my mother at all. If I was a wolf at all, where was she? Why can't I hear her? Why was she stuck inside of me? I didn't understand at all why I was any different than everyone else, my parents were just normal wolves. I brushed the thoughts aside.

Andrew walked through the front door and took off his shoes. I heard the door and ran towards my father, embracing him in a tight hug. "How was work?"

My father was hesitant to reply. "Your mother and I have something to talk to you about." I felt my heart sink to my stomach.

Melanie put dinner on the dining room table. "We'll talk about it over dinner." Andrew, Melanie, and I sat down at the table and began eating. Melanie kept sharing worried glances with Andrew.

Andrew spoke up. "So, Jayka." I looked up from the food I was eating. "We have to move, sweetheart. Alpha Andreas has banished you from the pack."

My mouth hung wide open. "But what about you guys? You're the strongest wolves in his pack! He can't lose you guys."

Melanie started tearing up. "We know, sweetheart. He's forcing us to stay and forcing us to kick you out." I stared at my mother. It had to be a joke. They were just joking, right?

"Guys, this isn't funny. Tell me it's a joke."

Andrew shook his head. "Okay, it's a joke. We're coming with you, obviously."

That didn't make me feel better. "You can't leave this pack though."

Andrew shrugged. "You're our daughter, we're not gonna leave you alone in a new pack when your wolf hasn't come yet."

I rolled my eyes. "So when are we moving?"

Melanie took a sip of her drink before answering my question. "We have to be out in two days." I let out a frustrated sigh, finishing my food before running upstairs and starting to pack my stuff into boxes.

-2 hours later-

I fell face first onto my bed, utterly exhausted for emptying my entire room into boxes. A truck pulled into their driveway. It was the movers. They started in the living room, then went to every other room, putting all of the boxes in the truck. My room was the last to be fully emptied, bed and all.

"Hold on where am I supposed to sleep?" One of the movers looked at me and pointed to the floor. I groaned. Why the floor, with no blanket too? That was just cruel.

I went downstairs to go on a walk in the forest. I was listening to music when something hit me in the back. I turned around and picked it up. A tennis ball? There wasn't anyone around and there wasn't a tennis court near our house. "That's really strange, WHO'S OUT HERE?" A small boy ran out of a bush and appeared in the road. I didn't recognize him, obviously he was lost or something. "How did you get out here?"

The boy looked into the forest at the hiking trail. "Mama dropped me off. Mama said she would be back by tomorrow." It was obvious his mother abandoned him, but why here, in wolf territory?

"What's your mother's name, sweetie?" He couldn't be older than four or five.

"Mama's name is Kat."

My eyes widened at his response. Kat was a former wolf in this pack, but was banished after having sex with a human and rejecting her mate. Her mate was Alpha Andreas. It hurt him for months.

I slowly approached the boy, giving him his ball back and picking the boy up, gently sniffing him. I didn't believe it. Half wolf, half human? That's a rare combination, he would definitely be hunted if people found out.

I brought the boy back to the house, hoping my mom and dad could help. Madeline's eyes filled with fear as I approached with Mathias on my hip. I explained his situation and my parents understood it. I had to find a way to hide him from everyone else but I didn't know how. They where werewolves for God's sake, they'd sniff him out in an instant.

I went out and bought clothes from a nearby shop, hoping they'd smell of wolf. They didn't. I let out a frustrated scream, which led Alpha Andreas in my direction. He could smell Mathias on me, that was obvious. He motioned for me to tell him why I screamed and I said I stepped on something sharp.

Alpha looked down at my feet, realizing I had shoes on, and slapped me for lying to him. "Whose scent is that? It smells and reeks of Kat." His eyes turned black in fury and he told me to run. I ran inside my house and locked the front door before he get could get to me, running upstairs to Mathias.
