As Brian leaped onto the road and slashed at the beast's lower gums, blood gushed into the trees from the creature that Brian had just killed.
The monstrous creature let out a groan of agony as it started to violently swing its arms in the direction of Brian.
The earth was crisscrossed by two bands of yellow flames that reached all the way up to the legs of the beast.
Neferet was concealing herself behind a tree and maintaining an upright posture with her legs bent.
At the same time, the bandages were wrapped around the trunk of the tree in the shape of an X.
Neferet made a valiant effort to raise her arms and pull on the legs of the beast as she did so.
She was forced to drop the bandages, which vanished one by one as a result of a loud rumble on the ground. As she started to run across the forest towards Brian, she was approaching him.
Brian watched the monster fall while he jumped over it, grinning to himself as he did so.
When Brian drove the spear into one of the creature's shoulders, a burgundy flare followed by an explosion lit up the shoulder of the beast.
Before collapsing to the ground and being devoured by the creature, Brian was able to hear one final sound: a piercing howl of agony.
Brian was able to view the creature as it stood on its hind legs, flailing its arms into the air while letting out roars. The creature had its back to the earth.
Neferet could smell the paralyzing, foul smell again. Brian stood up and shouted as his eyes began to glow in the dark, "Silence!!"
When Brian let out his scream, a tiny bubble of air with a tinge of burgundy formed all around him, when he let out his scream, the bubble burst, which caused the beast to move.
Brian stared at the beast as he began to pull from the rear of her waist. The beast turned its head in an awkward manner.
The dagger and the hammer that he had on his person. As he held the hammer in his left hand and the sword in his right, he caused the flames of burgundy to emanate from both of them.
Neferet was standing next to Brian, observing him as he remained completely unfazed by either the odor or the roars of the beast.
She could feel the smell dissipating again, and she said to Brian slowly, "He only has one eye. Since he can see the dark, he must be sensitive to light."
After focusing his attention on the monster for a moment, Brian nodded. Neferet recoiled as she saw Brian start to sprint towards the beast. Brian was racing low, with his arms behind him and taking fast strides. Neferet jumped backward.
The monstrous creature began to throw its limbs in Brian's direction, causing a light cloud of dust to be kicked up when they collided with the dusty dirt floor of the road.
While Neferet was following Brian around with her bandages, she created a yellowish circle around the area where the fight was taking place.
She was groveling on the ground while she held her hands in a prayer position.
The area around Brian and the beast that they were fighting was lit up like a campfire by bands of yellow fire that suddenly shot out.
Deftly sidestepping the punches that were being delivered by the beast. The golden flames illuminated Brian as he watched the creature arch its back, which took its eye out of the line of fire and caused it to narrow.
Brian attacked the beast's knee with a swift motion and hit it. The beast's demise was heralded by a crimson flash, which was then followed by a blast of air.
As the beast was going down, Brian raced up to its eye and slashed it shallowly with a vertical swipe of his sword.
As Brian stretched out his right arm to make the cut deeper, he turned his face to see one of the beast's arms come down on him.
Feeling the blow to the side, Brian screamed, "Stay still and let yourself be killed, you stinking monkey!!"
Falling to the ground, Brian rolled out of the circle of yellow fire. As he got up, he turned his head to see the flashes of the distant fight and cracked his neck, and he said, "Alright, let's get this over with so I can join the party."
Neferet's attention was clearly fixated on Brian. At that precise moment, she could make out his glowing eyes despite the darkness.
She was able to identify the shape of his fangs due to the oval shape of his pupil as well as the manner that his smile showed off his fangs.
He was reminded of the cats who sought mice in the house where she grew up by the vision of Brian flexing his knees and slightly tilting his body. This behavior is not natural in humans.
When Neferet thought about Brian at the time, she did not picture him as a brave warrior slaying a monster.
It was the behavior of a predator who was amusing himself by playing with his prey.
Neferet gazed at Brian while she was picking up her bandages. The flames did not appear as bright as they had before.
On the other hand, the circle of yellow fire that was on the ground was still burning. As the fire was going out, Brian put the hammer away.
