Chapter 11 - New Team (2)

The archer took small steps backward while concentrating a large blue flame on his left arm.

As Brian got closer, he could feel everything around him getting darker when Brian got close enough.

The archer hit him straight with his left hand shooting a blue arrow.

Brian dodged the blow by sliding diagonally forward, planting himself in the archer's face. Brian twisted his hips.

He swung upwards, grazing the archer's chest and hitting his chin with his right hand.

Feeling himself being lifted off the ground a few inches, the archer was able to see where his bow was before his vision blurred.

Driven by instinct, he raised his hands, covering his face while leaning his body forward, trying to fall on top of Brian.

Taking a side step. Brian twisted his hips again, hooking the passing archer to the side of his arms. His left fist, illuminated by the burgundy flame, made a roar as a gust of reddish air hit the archer's face, knocking him to the ground.

Twirling on the ground, the archer stopped his movements with his arms looking up.

To see how Brian approached, seeing how a small silver flash peeked out of his right hand.

Brian stood near the archer, and without saying anything, he stopped smiling. Pulling out a gun that was hidden in his waistband with his shirt.

He aimed at the archer's face lowering the hammer of the pistol, and Brian fired without hesitation.

With the last of his strength, the archer spun hard before Brian could fire, narrowly missing the killing shot.

But the bullet wrapped in a burgundy flash struck his left shoulder.

Grabbing his bow with his right arm, he spun in a line of blue fire away from Brian, who was staring at him with his face shadowed by the gleam in his eyes.

Between gasps, the archer stretched his bow as he could, trying to draw a smile on his face.

With a frown, Brian stretched his left hand to the side, away from his body.

A strong burgundy flame began to envelop his arm while the archer prepared another arrow.

A green flash crossed the air. Hitting the archer's thigh, Brian turned his face to see Rebeca pointing her rifle at the archer.

At the same time, being surrounded by a cloud of greenish smoke. After pulling the rifle, green smoke came out of the rifle.

Rebeca aimed at the archer again, this time in the direction of the body.

Stretching out his right hand, the archer wrapped his fingers in a blue flame and pulled the flame from the ground.

The flame began to take the form of hundreds of small pins pointing in all directions.

Brian jumped behind a tree while screaming, "Down, girls!!" While shouting, Brian tried to cover as much of his body as possible with his left arm.

As Brian screamed, hundreds of small pin-like arrows flew through the air, loudly whistling as they hit the ground.

Trees and some grazed Brian's body, legs, and shoulders. Making minor cuts and burns to your clothing, face, and neck.

After a few seconds of silence, Brian peeked out from behind the tree.

Seeing how the blue flames had died down, leaving little trails of smoke rising slowly, Brian said, "The bastard go away."

Starting to move and stretch his body, Brian said in his normal tone of voice- "It's safe to get up now."

Rebeca and Neferet raised their faces behind the stones.

At the same time, Brian was looking for his spear among the remains of the fight.

Neferet raised her voice, saying, "Where is it?"

Neferet looked through the forest, searching with her eyes for the figure of the archer.

After extracting his spear from the roots of the downed tree, Brian started walking in the direction of the girls while wiping his sweaty face with the sleeve of his shirt.

He said while dragging the tip of the spear on the ground, "No idea where he ran to."

Turning to look out into the woods, Brian frowned, saying, "But with all the fire he's wasting, he must be hiding while he tries to control his temperature. If he survives."

Neferet watched with the coldness that Brian was referring to the life of that applicant.

That although he had attacked them, he was still a human being.

Swallowing hard, he took a step back out of Brian's way, who said as he approached the corpse of the dead young knight, "All this would have ended sooner if Rebeca had shot, a chapter and a half ago."

Brian stretched out his hand, took the bracelet from the dead applicant, and while he put it on his right hand, he turned his face and barely dodged a stone that Rebeca threw at him.

Rebeca ran towards Brian while collecting stones that he threw at him as he found them.

"Of course, you bastard!!" Rebeca yelled so loud.

Rebeca stood next to Brian and kicked one of the burns that Brian had on his shoulder, and she kept yelling at him, letting out a southern accent, with singing and accelerated tone, "Eighty shots I would have given him while you rolled over him!! Or when you hug him? Piece of shit!!"

Brian flashed a smile as he slowly got up. Adjusting his new bracelet with a burgundy flame that made the bracelet adapt to his arm., Brian just looked at Rebeca with mocking air.

Neferet turned her face to see the new applicant who was looking at the couple, trembling behind a stone.

Neferet let out a sigh and turned her back on them. Drawing a smile of calm as she covered her face with her hands, she whispered, "I knew I had to follow him from the beginning."

The group continued to relax as the hours passed and sunset fast approached.

With it being two hours after noon, the time to find the other applicants or get out of the forest was running out.
