Chapter 17 - Recon team (2)

Placing the shield in front of his chest, she said with authority, "What are these insults for?"

Staring at Armin, Brian turned his head as he pointed his spear at the archer. He said, "They're aimed at him."

Brian's spear pointed directly at the kneeling archer. With the wounds bandaged with pieces of a white shirt, "That bastard killed his team, another knight, and attacked me."

Turning his head for a moment, Armin looked at the archer. Who was kneeling, his skin and his lips were pale, but his eyes gave off a cold blue gleam as they stared at Brian.

Raising his voice again, Armin continued to block Brian's path as he said, "He told us something else." Blowing the spear against the ground again, Armin said, "Please, lower the spear and explain to me what happened."

Armin's eyes scanned Brian, who wore two gauntlets. Protruding from his shirt were two pistols hanging from his waist, and on his back, he carried a hammer and a sword.

Opening his mouth, Armin said, "Where did you get so much equipment?" To later see how two sacks of resources hung from his shoulder before asking further, "You stole them, right?"

Neferet opened her mouth, but Brian responded faster by saying, "Take them from the dead before burning them." Brian stared at Armin. The longer he held his gaze, the more he frowned, "I gave them their honors and took the useful things so as not to waste them."

Armin's expression made Brian snort. Armin was looking at Brian with a contorted face making a face of disgust, disapproval, and anger.

Seeing Armin's reaction, Brian shrugged his shoulders and shook his head.

"Listen, Nefy can explain the situation to you." Brian turned around and, looking at Neferet, said, "I'm leaving."

Before Brian took the first step, Armin placed the spear on his shoulder.

Clearing his throat, he said, "Wait, you can't come here to spout such serious threats and accusations, then leave without at least introducing yourself. It's not proper."

Armin stared at Brian's back as he stood as straight as he could, trying to match Brian's height while saying, "My name is Armin Lawrence. The defendant is Nicolas Lowrider. Who are you?"

Brian turned his head, seeing the point of Armin's spear in his shoulder, then moved his eyes to look directly at Armin.

Moving his shoulder forcefully removing the spear, he said without turning completely.

"My name is Brian," dropping his spear through his hand until the tip grazed the ground as he spoke.

Armin frowned as he said with some disinterest in his voice, turning to point his shield hand at Nicolas as he said, "Let me explain." Armin puffed out his chest as he hit the ground with the base of his spear, "He is the son of a noble family from the north of the commonwealth, it turns out..."

Brian snorted, then started laughing as he said, "Let me guess."

Brian raised his spear, pointing the tip at Nicolas as he said. "Her grandmother is your second aunt's third cousin on your mother's side, and that is why she is someone you trust."

Swallowing, Armin kept silent with his mouth open while, with a mocking face, Brian lowered the spear, saying, "A surname buying your trust without even listening to arguments."

Brian stared into Armin's eyes that were slowly beginning to shine while Brian's had their permanent burgundy shine, "I don't plan to stay here to leave on my back bastard who already tried to kill me once."

With a frown and hitting the ground again with the base of his spear, Armin shouted, "You're going to be quiet, and you're going to listen to me!!"

Placing his shield in front of his chest while she stared into Brian's eyes. Armin kept shouting louder and louder, "I am the eldest son of the Lawrences, and therefore, my voice must be heard and respected, not like the voice of a...!!!"

Armin was silent for a few seconds while Brian finished turning around and staring at him.

Saying while the tone of his voice lowered, "A what?" Brian took a step across the tiny river, placing himself a few centimeters from Armin while he said, "You already started the sentence, have the balls to finish it."

Lowering his voice while trying to maintain a dignified air, Armin said, feigning calm following Brian's provocation.

"A mere and simple hillbilly without a banner," Armin continued to speak slowly.

The words came out slowly. His voice continued to express an air of dignity despite the fact that some words came out with difficulty, "A knight without a banner, a copper warrior."

With a smile, Brian raised his voice while Armin seemed to cringe under the weight of his words, "Of course, you're a dragon, and I'm a lizard, right!!"

Armin raised his head to stare at Brian. Returning to speak with dignity, he said, "You will not turn your back on me while I speak to you, and you will give your accusations with bases."

Brian started to slowly nod as he said in a calm and low voice, "Of course, Master Lawrence, this is my first evidence."

Shifting his hip, Brian kicked hard into Armin's chest, hitting him on the shield. A faint red light traveled across the shield producing a muffled thud.

Stepping into the water, Brian twisted his hip back to attack aimed at the shield, his spear making a second muffled thud.

Neferet turned her face to see Rebeca through the trees. The emerald glow of her eyes could be seen slightly through the trees.

Turning her head, Neferet could see something strange in the advanced group.

Frowning as the sky turned red, marking the sunset, Neferet felt her hands tremble.

But instead of being fear this time, they trembled with anger and some frustration, taking a long step toward the two knights who began a quick and raucous exchange of blows.
