Chapter 10 - New Team (1)

Neferet gazed in awe as the reddish and blue lights collided in the struggle that was taking place over the pond. Brian and the archer were soon coming into contact with one another.

She could not fathom how someone her age could attack to kill in such a calm and collected manner. The dead body lying at her feet jogged her memory and brought her back to the present.

It was one thing for her to have to deal with a beast, but the prospect of having to murder a person was something she had not even considered up to this point.

The huge flash of the bluish harpoon that could be seen in the forest and how Brian jumped just behind the tree where the archer was aiming made her chest shrink, and at the same time, Rebeca screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Brian!!"

The girls watched as the archer fired the huge arrow, breaking the tree and creating a cloud of splinters that blocked the view and caused a small blue fire in the trees the arrow pierced.

With a tired and hasty smile, the archer said, "I gave you damn savage."

When the archer heard the crack of a branch, which could be heard through the cloud of smoke and splinters, he stood up a little bit.

Two burgundy dots became brighter behind the cloud of smoke, and when it faded, he was able to see Brian hunched, lying on one of his bent knees while his other leg was spread out in front of him.

The shine in Brian's crimson eyes made his face appear darker and more lifeless than it ever had before.

The archer made a clumsy step backwards as Brian's pupil contracted into a vertical oval. At the same time, he noticed a wide smile, which revealed that Brian's canine teeth were significantly larger than average.

Brian twisted his hip hard, slashing at the base of the tree, creating a second explosion of splinters and smoke.

The archer striding backward tried to get away while raising his bow before he could take aim at the cloud of smoke.

He watched as Brian dove to the ground, releasing the spear from his grip and stretching his arms out in front of him as he did so.

After grabbing the archer by the waist and holding on to his mules with his hands, Brian threw his hands down and pinned his shoulder into the archer's stomach. This lifted the archer a few inches off the ground and allowed Brian to continue his run, which resulted in the archer crashing into a tree.

Brian stepped back a few inches when he heard a gasp, and then with a roar, he lashed out two hits, bending his hips as he bent his shoulders inward. This caused the opponent to gasp.

Brian struck two rapid and powerful hooks to the face of the archer, and then he shoved the bow away after striking as quickly and as forcefully as the situation allowed.

Brian leaped up, stretched out his legs, and switched his rear leg to his front leg in order to modify his position for a third attack. He kept his smile throughout the entire exchange.

The strikes to the archer's face felt like two stones were raining on him, and his legs started to shake as a result. The archer had run out of breath in his lungs.

As his vision blurred as he twirled around, feeling the bow detach from his hand.

In an effort to flee from that location, he somersaulted quickly before falling to the ground. This action was driven more by instinct than by conscious choice.

As he struggled to his feet, he heard a rumble similar to a cannonball breaking wood.

Little by little, his sight adjusted to see Brian staring at him as he pulled his arm out of the tree trunk.

A few moment earlier, Brian had been smiling, but now he had a frustrated grimace on his face. Craning his neck, he attempted to cover his forehead and temples with his arms as he stood up straight once more.

Taking two steps back, the archer opened his eyes as wide as he could and, after spitting out some blood. He raised his arms, lighting his bracelets in pale blue.

Brian lighting up his bracelet on his left hand, said, "If you leave now, I promise not to chase you."

Brian's voice sounded a little hoarser and the tone calmer he had. It had changed to a mocking tone, and his words came out quickly as small growls.

Taking a few seconds to consider the offer, the archer studied Brian.

That she had not altered her expression, that she had not lowered her shoulders, and that she was still moving closer to him while maintaining those wild and demonic features.

Covering his face with one hand, while the other dropped it by bending the elbow, he covered his stomach, gently moving the hand with which he covered his stomach, while in a small jump, he placed his right leg in front and the left well planted on the floor.

He said between small gasps, "Sure... Shall I take off my pants too?"

With a snort, Brian covered his face with the sides of his fists, jumping to get closer, while the archer began to release quick and erratic blows with the hand that covered his stomach.

Each blow that he threw with his right fist was accompanied by a brief flash of blue light. The blue flashes shot across the air while making a whistling sound erratically.

While Brian moved forward while rotating his waist and making quick and short motions, he bowed his head and covered his face with his hands. While he did this, his movements were short and quick.

The blue flames burned the exposed parts of his body, such as his right arm, and his white uniform shirt was filled with small burns. When a blue flash collided with his left hand, the whistle became a small boom.
