Ozora was busy in daycare. Children run around and they often invite her to play even though she was also struggling with a lot of data and programs that must be completed immediately.
"Miss, there is a guest who wants to meet." Lila told Ozora while holding her breath for having to chase one child.
"Who wants to meet me?" Ozora asked back.
"She said your childhood best friend."
"Childhood best friend? I have never had a friend." Ozora mumbled to herself then she said goodbye to the children so that she could go to the person who claimed as her best friend.
"Hi, O!" a beautiful woman, white, straight blonde hair and blue eyes smiled and waved at Ozora.
"Cana?" Ozora immediately recognized the woman. Cana who used to be her best friend but the woman changed drastically after Ozora was adopted by Jacob as a child.
"We have not seen each other in a long time. I didn't think that you would just end up being a babysitter like this. Are your adoptive parents not able to pay for your college? Or are they ignoring you because you are not their biological daughter? Your life is so sad. I knew that you would not be as successful as me."
"How do you know if I work here? Your arrival is not welcome here, it's better you leave," Ozora replied without feeling. She did not like hearing scorn from her old friend.
"I got this address from Mommy Bella. She said you go there often these days. Why didn't you invite me? We should go back to the orphanage together so they can see the differences between us."
"Then what is your purpose for coming here?" Ozora's gaze was like an eagle about to attack its prey. She wanted to get rid of the uninvited woman but she thought about the good name of her sister's daycare.
Ozora's gaze was terrifying. She would not allow herself to be humiliated again. Ozora was not the kid she used to be who was always being abused and belittled. If Cana insulted her again, then Ozora would take the woman's hand and take her to a quiet place.
"I just wanted to say hi to you. We are old friends, right?"
"I have never had a friend like you. Get out quickly before I call the security guard to kick you out."
"Don't be like this, Ozora. We grew up together and we are like siblings."
Cana came closer and she played with Ozora's curls. She belittled Ozora with her evil smile.
"Keep your hands from my future wife's hair!" A man's voice was heard.
That sentence made Ozora and Cana turn their heads. Eldrick had just opened the door and noticed Cana's strange behavior. He also noticed Ozora's body language which showed her dislike for the woman's presence.
"Don't insult my woman if you don't want to be insulted by me!" El approached them and stood right next to Ozora. Eldrick would not let anyone hurt his future wife.
"Who are you?" Cana asked. She gasped to see a handsome man was embracing Ozora's shoulder.
"I am her future husband. I should be the one asking you. Who are you and why are you insulting my woman?"
"Future husband? I can't believe it. How could a woman like her get a cool guy like you? She must have asked you to pretend." Cana immediately dismissed Eldrick's words which almost paralyzed her logic.
"Do you need proof?" El challenged the woman.
"Of course! I can't believe any man would want to be with Ozora."
Eldrick was increasingly challenged to prove the truth of his words. He cupped the nape of Ozora's neck then gave a short kiss on his future wife's lips.
If Cana gasped at what she saw, Ozora froze. She froze in place without not knowing what to do. She wanted to curse but her tongue was numb and could not utter a word. Ozora also had to think about Eldrick's pride so that she did not humiliate the man who had defended her in front of Cana.
"How can it be? I have become a doctor and I always dress up beautifully but until today I have not got a lover?" Cana asked in wonder.
Cana really could not accept this. Ozora always got the attention from many people without doing anything while Cana has tried various ways but she was always ignored.
"Of course, Ozora can. Men don't need a doctor's degree and a pretty face. A real man needs a woman who is kind and always supports her man. Ozora has both and in my eyes she is the most beautiful woman besides mommy. Are you satisfied?" Eldrick increased his defense while wrapping his arm around Ozora's waist.
Cana gulped hearing every sentence said by Eldrick. She did not accept it because it was the biggest humiliation in her life.
"Now you go. We never invited you here." Eldrick chased Cana away and took Ozora to her room.
Ozora still looked at Eldrick sharply when they were sitting side by side on the sofa. "Why are you looking at me like that? You should say thank you because I saved you from that woman."
"Thank you? You stole my first kiss and I have to say thank you? You kiss me without permission, Eldrick." Ozora's anger was so high that she forgot how to say thank you.
Eldrick smiled then brought his lips to Ozora's ear. "It's not just your first kiss I will take. Your first night will also be mine."
"What do you mean? Do you want to abuse me?" The tomboyish woman reflex crossed her arms to cover her chest.
"Of course I wouldn't do it here. We will do it after we have said our wedding vows at the altar."
"El, what do you mean by saying that?" Ozora was getting confused. Eldrick's joke had gone too far and Ozora did not like it.
"Tomorrow my family and I will come to your house. We will propose you to be my wife. So you have to get ready and greet us with your sweet smile."
