Adelia finally seemed to be blessed with some brains from the almighty as she read the situation. Hah, why was she courting death like that...She must've gone crazy for a second!
Eager to get in the green zone, she apologized, "Charlie, I'm sorry," Since she wasn't sure of her temper, the best way to stop herself from becoming the first person on the male lead's hit list was to get him to leave. "-But look at the clock! Time flies, right? Ah, shouldn't you get going now?"
Under normal circumstances, Charlie would've surely been super annoyed at this cockroach trying to separate him from the sole reason of his existence but right now, he even felt a little thankful. He needs to get out of here! It was like something came over him and his hands moved without thinking. God knows what he might do if he stayed any longer!
Standing up at once, he hurriedly picked up his bag. Walking large steps, he almost ran to the door. "I-I'll be going now, Willow! Bye!" With that, he slammed the door with a little too much force due to his nervousness. On the other side, he leaned on the wall as he panted, trying to calm down.
Walking slowly, Charlie tried to calm down as he walked further away from Willow. To be honest, he really wanted to rush back in and be with him longer, even if just a moment more. He looked so enchanting, with his head on his chest...
'If he looked so beautiful on the top-' Charlie wondered, '-How would he look beneath me?'
Shaking his head wildly, he tried to push those unholy thoughts away. Has he gone crazy?! What...What was he thinking?!
Charlie's face was red the whole way, a strange desire blooming inside him.
"Adelia?! Are you mad? Why were you trying so hard to get killed, huh?!" Willow yelled.
Startled by his sudden shout, Adelia was speechless for a moment. Hah, she knows she was in the wrong just now, but do you have to rub it in, Will? Well, a perfect beauty like herself isn't ever going to admit she's wrong, be it now or at the tip of a sword.
Shrugging nonchalantly, she replied casually, "Oh, you're naive as always, Willow. I wasn't trying to provoke him. I-"
She paused, trying to think of a valid reason. Uh...What should she say?!
Knowing that his sister is just going to think of a lie again to shrug off her mistakes, Willow remarked sarcastically, "Well, I'm waiting. Do take your time to think of an excuse, dear sister."
Flustered, she snapped, "-For the plot! Yeah, I was doing it all for the plot, you idiot!"
"-And how is that, my most brainless host?"
A voice came from behind. Adelia almost jumped due to the sudden third presence in the room.
Snapping her head backwards, she cried, "Since when were you here ?! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?!"
She clutched her chest, looking troubled. Adelia was a strange person like that. She wouldn't get afraid even at gunpoint but could be scared silly if something appeared out of nowhere and startled here. Basically, She wasn't even afraid of getting killed by real and known things but unnatural or unknown stuff made her cry.
Not even a bit sorry, the system replied flatly, "Sorry about that, my most brainless host."
Well, last time he tried to be polite. By now he had realized that these hosts weren't worth being polite to at all. Since she's going to piss him off to bring out the worst in him anyway, might as well save her the trouble.
"Don't do that again..." Adelia said slowly, still scared.
The system almost spewed his data at her pitiful plea. What was this girl saying? Isn't she always rude to him? Where is the expected sarcastic and rude remark? Why is there a genuinely scared girl here, making him look like the bully?
