"I don't know how, but a bear appeared in the forest" said Maynard, the village doctor. Elena looked at the boy with a worried face.
Emma, a girl with the same intentions as Mason. Was casually strolling trough the forest, when she suddenly saw a horrifying scene. A human and a bear, 1 unconscious and 1 dead. Only separated by 2 meters. She ran back to the village as fast as possible and notified the adults, who quickly took action and saved the human boy.
Yes, thats right! Plot Arm- *cough* *cough* The boy got saved in time!
Still unconscious Mason was in a hospital bed at Maynards' place. It wasn't a hospital because it was just a regular house but it was the best the village could afford.
Old man Maynard was already 72 and way past retirement. But since he was the only one with slight medical knowledge, he still had to work for the village.
*rustle*
While the adults were having their conversation, Mason woke up from his long nap.
"Mason! How are you feeling? Are you alright? Are you still in pain?"
Elena bombarded the child with questions about his well-being.
"Yeah mom, I think I'm fine. Nothing hurts too much it's just that my entire body feels like it got run over by a truck."
"That's good, that's great. I'm relieved, I thought I lost you as well for a moment." Elena said with a sigh.
*cough* *cough*
"Not to interrupt your conversation, but it's best if Mason stays here for the rest of the day to rest up. I'll treat him to the best of my capabilities, Elena." said Maynard
"That's fine, Maynard. I'll be taking my leave now, I still have work to do. Take care sweetie, make sure to rest lots!" Elena said
"Yes mom, good luck at work" the boy said with a smile.
After Elena left, Maynard said "I'll be leaving too, so you can do whatever you want" the old man said with a weird voice and a wink.
'Crazy old man' Mason thought
'Anyways what was that voice in my head when i was about to die? That disrupted my peace.'
*Ding*
Suddenly, some weird hologram appeared before him with tons of information.
[Pay 2 Play System]
[With enough points, one can be stronger than the God of Magic himself!]
[There is multiple functions. The first one is a Wheel of Fortune]
[In the wheel of Fortune there is 3 categories: Normal, Premium, All-Powerful]
[Secondly, there is the Shop function. As long as you have points, you can buy what whatever you want]
[Thirdly, there is the Mini-Game section. There is multiple Mini-Games with different rewards]
[Those are the three functions you currently have unlocked. Good luck in your journey, Host!]
"Well that's fucking surprising." Mason said.
'This is the same concept as in those novels I've been reading, a System? That's cool as shit.'
'The one I have is kind of different from the usual ones though, I'll have to find out i guess.'
*Ding*
[Host killed a Level 4 beast, calculating rewards...]
[First kill reward: 2 Normal spins on the Wheel of Fortune! Use now?]
On the [Normal Wheel of Fortune] there is 3 rarities: Common, Rare and Epic.
"Sure, use 1 spin" Mason answered.
[Spinning once]
Mason saw the Wheel turning at a rapid pace and slowing down.
"Please God, give me a purple colour." Mason prayed.
Eventually, the Wheel ended on a blue colour. Signalling that it was a Rare.
"I guess that's not bad for a first spin"
The chances on the Wheel of Fortune were distributed as follows: Common had a 85% chance, Rare had a 13% chance, and finally Epic only had a 2% chance to get.
[You have been rewarded: Ice Affinity]
"What!?" Mason said out loud.
'This System can grant me affinities? That's overpowered!'
Getting excited Mason immediately said
"System use second spin!"
[Using second spin]
[Rarity: Common. You have been granted 1 year worth of Mana Practice]
"It's only common, but isn't that still kind of good?"
'It's probably what I need most right now, I don't want to almost die to a beast again.' Mason thought.
What Mason didn't know. Is that the only reason he got 2 spins is because it was a first kill. Spins are harder to get than just killing a single low-level beast. Normally, u get points depending on what level the beast is and you have to buy the spins with those points.
Mason immediately tried out his newly acquired magic. And so, tiny particles of ice started flowing out of his hand. Surprisingly, he didn't freeze the whole house down. Probably because of the years worth of Mana Practice.
Mason once read in a book that Mana Practice is the most important thing for Mages. Because it both improves control and magic power.
"Since I've just become the only Mage in this village right now, I should go and test out my power right?
